Sleepless sounds (day 7 Late Evening)

He smirked. "Did you think I was going to accept if it was toots? Nah, a pretty thing like you just smells like trouble." He joined her a moment later in laughter before picking up his glass and taking a sip.

"Oh, there a lot of different reasons. Maybe he feels a shit hole is all he deserves? Maybe he likes to surround himself with people he knows he'll never get really close to." He looked her way and offered a sly wink. "I suppose the answer really depends on the man."

"Hey now, I shower regularly." She laughed as she said it.

"Mhm.... that is deep. Maybe he just feels he deserves a shit hole, but he deserves something better, and is planning to leave then? To someplace better?"

"I know, but your perfume could do with being a touch like sweet." He replied with a wink.

"Perhaps, some of the people around him might think he deserves something a little better at least. That's not the reason he is leaving though. There are somethings you're forced into."

"Being forced to leave a shit hole, huh. Could be worse fates. The guy does sound like..." She fell silent, thinking of her day. Of her yesterday. Of everything. "Like someone who could use some encouragement. Giving up easy. Going on is.... painful. Raw. Scary." Her voice grew quieter as she spoke.

"Aye it could be worse, and in some ways it's good. Could provide some things he's never considered before. Redemption do starters."

He leaned over letting his shoulder touch hers for a moment. "Life is a scary thing, and stepping forward is hard. Giving up only makes things worse though. It's a dark spiral, leading to places you didn't believe you could go, and their is no path to happiness there."

He smirked. "I've walked that path for a long while, so I know."

"Well, here's to scary things!" She raised the glass and drank. She leaned into him a little too. "We both sound very wise. And I don't think we've drank enough to be truly wise. Let's see if we can drink ourselves to redemption?"

"Scary things." He replied raising the glass with her, and drinking. "There is a bit of wisdom in a bottle." He said with a light chuckle. "I don't know much about that second thing, but we can try to find it if you like." He waved over the bartender and orders another round of drinks. A pair of shots, which would be followed by something more easily drinkable.

"I hope you don't mind tequila." He commented as the two glasses arrived dressed with salt and a wedge of citrus.

"Never drank it. Let's try it now." She seemed more and more enthusiastic now. "So. How's your day been?"

"There's a bit of a process to it, but it's kinda fun. You lick the salt, take the shot, and then bite into the fruit." He turned towards her and raised his shot and one hand, leaving the piece of fruit on a napkin for the moment. "Cheers?"

After they were done, he'd move on to her question. "It's be easier then the last few. Not getting shot at, poisoned, or beaten up. So I guess you could say it's okay."

"Wow, you make drinking seem like work." She smiled, and followed along with the steps as he showed them.

"That does sound like a positive improvement. Is it going to stay that way, do you think?"

"There is a little work in everything, if you want to do it properly." He said with a chuckle, watching her with a casual interest.

The next drinks were something a bit more casual, a mixed shot that could be taken all at once, or sipped with some leisure. "Probably not, but that's the way of things. I can't really afford to fail."

"It wasn't bad... not my favorite, but not terrible either." She smiled and she took the shot. "Nice.... you're good at guessing. Or reading people."

She wineced. "Yeah.... I know the feeling. I have something similar. Stepping away... it's tempting. Can't though. I might die, but... can't."

"I'm a gambler, at least on the side. So reading people is something I'm used to." The next drink he ordered was a limoncello martini. "You might want to take this a bit slow. It packs more of a punch then you would expect."

"Dying is not that bad honestly, there are much worse fates in life." He turned to her and offered a smile. "And sometimes, with the really dangerous things it's okay to ask for help."

"True, though there are better ones as well. Why not try one of those fates?" She smiled, and looked away. "Did you ask for help then?"

"Yes, and a musician, and a dancer." He flashed her a smile. "Perhaps you'd join me on the floor soon?"

"Well, sometimes those fates aren't all the may seem to be. But I'd like to hear what others you might have in mind." This was followed by a pause. "I did, though part of me did not wish to. As the lives of all those I've asked to help me have become my responsibility, and I've failed at keeping my friends alive before."

"Oh? Maybe after a few drinks..." She let out a small laugh. "You do a great many things... are you that bored, sir?"

She winced. "That is indeed a hard responsibility. I wish you luck for that. If...." she tucked a strand of hair away. She felt nervous. "If I can help, let me know."

He reached a hand up, two fingers touching her chin, as he tried to pull her gaze his way. "You should tell me what's bothering you. Talking helps and I'll help you to. If I can."

"Is that a good idea? What if I start falling down? Will you catch me then?" She smiled, but didn't reach for her drink yet. She was a light weight after all. "Truthfully... I've been talking all day long. I'd rather just take a break from it. I am willing to listen, though."

"Alright then." He said with a soft chuckle, lettingbhis hand fall away from her face. Rising to his feet he offered her his hand. "I'd never let you fall without being there to catch you."

"Lets take a break from the drinks and hit the floor. Ill answer any questions you have."

She stood up slowly, in a measured manner. "If you are not afraid of being embarrassed, sure. Lead the way." She accepted his hand, and followed.

He watched her carefully as she rose, offering her a slightly encouraging smile. "I've never been afraid of being embarrassed, and I'm sure you'll do just fine. If nothing else I can give you some pointers, I've taught more then one on the dance floor."

Hed move onto the floor slowly not wanting to rush her, and moved into a classical dance position upon her arrival, holding one of her hands in his while the other rested on her waist.

"Oh? Well, you can't be worse than my last master." She smiled and followed him.

"She tentatively touched him up on the points. She was tense, but that soon eased up and she relaxed. The drinks probably helped. "My hip is in your hands Mr. Hat."

"Likely not." Zane said a small smile on his lips. "I've probably taught far more people how go dance them him."

"That it is Madam Alysele." He gave her an encouraging smile as they began. "Where do you think you have the most problems?"

Alysele let out a small laugh. "hrm... life mainly. To be more precise, gaining results in my strongest area. Or learning to let go." She swayed a bit. "Or holding my drink. If you are looking for something more practical... I am used to rigorous steps in a straight line. My legs aren't particularly nimble beasts."
