“Layne you know I don’t appreciate dramatic pauses, report,” he responds tersely.

"I encountered a heavily armored sith carrying yellow and crimson sabers. From the way she spoke, I believe she was Magpie. She managed to escape with the data. I however left her with the impression I was only there for Vosk's life. She might not know you're aware the data is compromised."

Layne guessed that maybe Baras could turn that to his advantage, though she really had no way of knowing, since she hadn't been told what the data was in the first place.

“Vosk is dead. Magpie interfering so soon was not expected. You have completed your task, for now this stays between us, do not alert anyone of your encounter that includes Sylvain. For now maintain vigilance my apprentice, I will have another task for you soon,” he replies and the line ends.

That went better than expected

Layne allowed a sigh of relief to escape her lips, and then considered things more closely. Did he not trust Torsin enough with the information? Who the hell was this magpie anyway? And where the hell was she going to sell off all this stuff? The jawas! Yes. A use for them after all.

She gathered up the stuff, and departed... hoping to hell the sound or sight of the window breaking hadn't ensured she'd be met with a squad of hutt security as she walked out the front door.
