“Sure, what do you want?” he says walking back inside.

“I got more wine… a little chemical pick me up? Money talks on Nar Shaddaa, we could make the slaves fight each other whatever you want,” Basil replies.

No, no, no. No. "What kind of wine? Something caffeinated would be appreciated though. Touched the planet not long ago."

She followed him in. "So this is your average day?"

“Usually, I get up… I find my dealer get more chemical pick me up, call some friends… get blasted out of my mind. It’s a good life, I am sure father or mother will get me when we are ready to marry. Maybe we can convince the other houses of getting into the slave trade, it could be good,” he says casually as he makes his way to the kitchen.

“Droid make us some kaff.”

A droid gets to work and he adds, “We can have a summer home here or something, a nice get away.”

"Well, slavery is illegal in the republic." She offered in response, observing the room.

"Is that what you want to do with your life? Chemicals, drinks, parties... nothing else?"

[Dapper Dog]

“I don’t know sure,” he says leaning against the counter.

“You got something better for me to do?” he says with a smirk eyeing her up and down.

[Alysele Cortess]

She put her left hand on her hip, her smile forced to coyness. "Lead. Do something. The galaxy is at war. It needs exceptional people to make sure it doesn't implode." She stepped closer. "I will not be taking a risk on someone who themselves is unwilling to take one."

[Dapper Dog]

“Yeah okay so what just go out and fight and die in that dumb war, how do I benefit from that?” he says in reply.

[Alysele Cortess]

She stepped closer, looking into his eye, passions riding high behind it. "If you think so little of yourself, we can stop this here and now."

She looked him in the eye. "The Thuls have suffered, bur survived. And apparently thrived, on some level. IF you don't consider yourself heir to that legacy..." She turned around and looked over her shoulder. "I want to marry someone who can do what is needed for Alderaan."

He is thoughtful for a moment and says, “Well I don’t know, I am a soldier but I am not like the best soldier. I am no Jedi, and I don’t know.”

The kaff is poured and he takes a drink and says, “I just don’t really care to be fighting all my life. I just want to make a difference, or at least have a good time. I know this is all vapid rich boy stuff but it's better than the alternative I guess.”

"Not everyone is born to be a soldier. Or a Jedi." Her mind crossed to Niall.... "And you can still make a difference." She accepted the kaff, took a whiff, and sipped it. "You can still go into politics. Having a good time... I can understand that. But with our family, our blood comes responsibility." She smiled at him kindly. "It's not always just fun and games sadly."

[Dapper Dog]

“You sound like my mother, that’s not a bad thing just jarring,” he replies.

“Fine, fine… you convinced me, I’ll talk to my parents and see if maybe political life is for me. You’re right, I can’t live this life forever and if we are to be married I should try and be respectable.”

A woman walks in wearing a shirt that barely covers her and says, “Hey B, got any more of that kaff?” She leans in and kisses his cheek and says, “Whose this?”

"Well, your mother is a smart woman." She offered cheekily. She glared at the new arrival though... the kiss wasn't helping.

What on Alderaan are my parents thinking?!

She didn't reply though, just staying quiet and awaiting curiously how Basil will respond.

[Dapper Dog]

He shrugs and says, “This is Lady Cortess, my future wife to be, I hope.”

“Oh, well it is a pleasure to meet you. Thank you Basil,” she says with a glint of a smile.

Basil says, “You’re welc-” He never gets to finish before a knife is stuck through his throat, it was a fast movement. Jedi fast… or Sith fast?

Basil collapses clutching the wound as the woman cracks her neck, “Finally, it’s nothing personal Cortess but you have to die as well. Lady Thul sends her regards.”

OOC: The assassin is at Engaged with Alysele, roll Vigilance for Initiative. Flipped a dark for Republic.

Aly spared a glance to Basil, to see if he still had a chance at survival, but reacted quickly to the new threat. "Typical mother-in-law."

The assassin wastes no time coming at the Jedi with her vibro-blade and the skill of a seasoned close combat fighter. She leads with her elbow to the jaw to keep the Jedi off balance and then slides her vibro-dagger under her for a quick but deadly stab that keeps Alysele off-balance.

Basil will not make it.

OOC: The assassin has Adversary 1, this upgrades 1 die of the difficulty dice from a purple to a red. For melee this means she has 1 purple and 1 red die plus a setback die for her natural defense. She used a maneuver to Aim and then attacked. She will use the remaining 2 advantage to give Alysele a setback die on her next action.

The attack does 9 wounds total and has Pierce 2 which ignores 2 of your soak. She uses 2 advantage to generate a critical injury and the weapons has Vicious 1 and she has Lethal Blows 1 so a Plus +20 on the critical roll.

Aly gritted her teeth, as the dagger was indeed a vicious one. She drew her blue saber, and tried to attack her adversary, but she missed, her senses still ringing from the elbow.

OOC: Spend 3 strain to Parry for 4 damage reduction, soak 3, so a total of 4 wounds suffered.

The assassin was calm and collected as she hops onto the counter to evade the strike and then flips behind Alysele and continues her assault using the poor strike to give her an advantageous position!

She stabs quickly with her vibro-kine but the Jedi evades and then uses her free hand to lock her weapon hand and twists causing the lightsaber to clatter to the floor harmlessly.

OOC: Attack misses but uses the 3 advantage to cause Alysele to drop her weapon. Used the threat from Alysele’s roll to give a boost die to the Assassin who used a Maneuver to aim. The assassin has Adversary 1, this upgrades 1 die of the difficulty dice from a purple to a red. For melee this means she has 1 purple and 1 red die plus a setback die for her natural defense.

Alysele is unarmed now.

Aly picked up her dropped weapon, though she did smell something singed... poor Basil's toes might not survive for identification.

She struck again, but nimble bitch was nimble. Still, she managed to get some breathing space, and she feinted to the right.

The feint nearly gets the assassin but she reacts quickly with a series of kicks that keep the Jedi weaving and then a low spin and the knife slips into the Jedi’s inner right thigh. She twists it painfully and pulls the blade out with a spray of blood.

OOC: Rist Assassin hits for 6 more wounds with Pierce 2 and causes another Critical Injury with the 2 advantage. She used Aim as a maneuver. The assassin has Adversary 1, this upgrades 1 die of the difficulty dice from a purple to a red. For melee this means she has 1 purple and 1 red die plus a setback die for her natural defense.

Remember you can use Destiny to upgrade your attack you like or spend it for some other scene altering effect with GM permission of course.

Bitch! Aly gritted, her movements slow. She. Will. Not. Be. Denied.

She quickly injected a stimpack, the stimulant allowing her to power through the pain, mostly. The leg still hurt, and she was limping. Luckily, she wasn't wielding the saber with her left, as she brought the white hot point of pain onto the midsection of the assassin, through the defenses. She did overextend herself a bit, but it was worth the effort.

The assassin spins away from the attack, it nearly cut her in half. She stumbled but was quick to see an advantage and took it though fighting more defensively now that the Lightsaber had tasted her flesh.

She came at the Jedi with a series of stabs but none found purchase she ends the rampage with a spinning kick that shatters the kaff maker sending sizzling kaff into Alysele’s face!

OOC: Miss on the attack using the 2 Advantage to give Alysele a setback die on her next attack. The assassin used Guarded Stance which increased her defense by 1 to 2, so 2 more setback dice. The assassin has Adversary 1, this upgrades 1 die of the difficulty dice from a purple to a red.

Aly screamed quite unlike a lady at the hot kaff, but she only blinked once, and attacked with a measured fury. Her hands were shaking, but the teachings of her master rang out in her head.

Her saber once again found her target, destiny on her side again. The blade sank deep into her opponents flesh, the shirt sizzling in protest.

Meanwhile, she reached out towards a nearby cup of kaff, over confidence surging through her. Take that.

The Rist assassin looks at the lightsaber deep in her gut she raises her hand to try and strike before she collapses and dies at the feet of the Jedi.

The protocol droid across the room says, “Oh my, I may have burnt the eggs.”

Aly kicked the body in disgust, then grunted as the pain in her leg flared.

She drank the rest of the kaf, while her lightsaber receded. "No, our guest just got in some hot water." She glanced down at the assassin... Lady Thul, eh? Fun times apparently.

Basil was gone, and there wasn't much to search on him, so she glanced back to the Rist. Or whatever remained of her.

Afterwards, she limped into the bedroom, to see if anyone else was there. Or alive.

OOC: searching assassin body, and the whole apartment for anything useful.
