Willows in the wind (Day 8 Early Night)

[Zanebry Varliss]

"That's likely for the best." He conceded with a smile, removing his arm from her shoulder as their drinks arrived, so he could pass one her way. He wouldn't put his arm back, instead letting it fall to his side, where hand would seek out hers to hold.

"A toast perhaps?" He asked after a moment, as his eyes drifted towards hers once again.

[Yslane Tssilla]

"A toast?" Yslane asks, her own hand sliding underneath Zane's. She falls silent for a moment looking at her drink. "To galactic peace."

Her eyes move up to meet his and she raises the glass.

[Zanebry Varliss]

"To Galactic peace." His words echoed hers as he moved to clink their glasses together, his eyes never parting from hers. How he wanted to kiss her again. It would wait though, at least for the moment as Z moved his glass to his lips and took a small sip.

[Yslane Tssilla]

Yslane likewise took a sip, then sit her glass down. A vision of her leaning over and passionately kissing Zane danced across her mind, "And to coming back."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"To coming back." He echoed once again as he set his own glass down. His eyes were still on hers as he leaned in a little closer, asking permission perhaps? Or maybe offering? This time at least he wouldn't close the distance on his own though, she would need to make the final leap.

[Yslane Tssilla]

Ysane blushed and leaned in, her lips barely bushing his before she shakes her head. "..."

She pulled back then, "..." The Jedi turned her eyes to her drink. "Regardless of what happens...thank you, Zane." Yslane tipped the glass and downed the contents. "Well...its been crummy weather yeah?" She said in a tone that meant she care nothing about the weather...

[Zanebry Varliss]

Zane softly squeezed her hand as she turned away. His eyes going a bit wide as she downed her drink. "You might want to slow down there Yslane." He offered cautiously as he took a sip of his drink. Placing it in a spot a bit out of her reach should she have a sudden desire for more. "We don't want you drunk, and me having to carry you home do we?"

There was a pause before he picked up the topic of the weather. "I don't know, it's been good for tracking down people with nefarious purposes." He offered a bit teasingly.

[Yslane Tssilla]

Yslane smiled more jovially, "I'll try to watch out shady figures." She laughed, "Or maybe they should watch out for me?"

She pushed the empty glass, "Oh...sorry," Her blush was still there. "Just...wanted to have a good taste of it. If I get another one it'll be small sips the rest of the night."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"I believe it might be the latter." He offered with a light chuckle, sliding his glass a little in her direction.

"I don't mind sharing, if you want some more." Zane said before lifting the glass to his lips to take a small sip. "If just the one doesn't satisfy us, we can always order another."

[Yslane Tssilla]

The glass was taken up and a small sip pulled from it, Yslane chuckled, "....trying to get a kiss by proxy Zane?"

"So...big day tomorrow. Are you ready for it?" She squeezes his hand.

[Zanebry Varliss]

"What do you think?" He asked a bit of mischief dancing behind his eyes, as he reached for the glass, his fingers brushing hers as he pulled it gently in his direction to take a sip.

"I have most of my affairs in order, all that is left are a few meetings, various partings, just in case." He offered her a warm smile. "To answer your question though. Yes, I'm ready. Are you?"

[Yslane Tssilla]

"A Jedi is always ready," Yslane grinned, then it turned to a frown, "...perhaps it not best to think of partings."

She looked him in the eyes, her blush had faded and she was clearly searching Zane's expression.

[Zanebry Varliss]

"You're right, I've had to many of them in my life, and there are little reason to let my thoughts linger on them."

He didn't look away, letting her see what she could. There was a small sadness, behind his eyes, but it didn't show on his face, he seemed perhaps st peace with whatever outcome tomorrow might bring. Above all there was happiness for these moments they were sharing, few though they may be.

[Yslane Tssilla]

Yslane frowned for only a moment then her smile returned, though their was a hint of melancholy in her eyes, and she took a drink, "I'm ahead of you on sips Zane."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Only if we count only the last few minutes." He replied, taking the glass and slightly turning it so as to sip from where she just had. "In which case your're ahead by more then just one sip."

[Yslane Tssilla]

"...are you accusing a Jedi of cheating?" Yslane replied with mock indignation and sipped from the opposite side of the glass after he put it down, amusing herself with this new little game.

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Never cheating, perhaps." There was a small pause. "Maybe using your assests to their highest potential?"

He picked the glass up, turning it again and taking a sip from where she had again. "It tastes better here." Zane informed her as he set it back down. His hand signaling the waiter to bring them another.

[Yslane Tssilla]

Yslane shakes her head and chuckles, "Oh? And what is the difference in taste?"

"Sounds like an excuse to me Zane."

[Zanebry Varliss]

Zane smiled slyly. "Nothing too much, it just has a hint of Blueblossom." He carefully placed the glass back on the table.

"Perhaps, but I've never minded a favorable interpretation of the rules."

[Yslane Tssilla]

"As long as it benefits you?" Yslane teases, taking another sip. "Doesn't taste any different to me."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Usually." He replied playfully. "Oh? Perhaps I should kiss you then."

"So you'll better know what your looking for." His lips were curled in a playful smile and his tone was teasing, but he didn't make a single move towards her lips.

[Yslane Tssilla]

Yslane blushed then looked away, "I remember that well enough...."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"I know." He leaned in and kissed her on the shoulder. "I was just doing a bit of teasing."

"I should stop though, should of stopped earlier. I'm starting to like you to a level that's dangerous, and I'm having trouble resisting my urges."

[Yslane Tssilla]

Yslane looked down at the table, "Do you tell all the ladies you meet that?" Her voice lacks the teasing tone she usually used with such questions, it was almost..sorrowful.

[Zanebry Varliss]

"No, usually I'd just try and take them home with me." He smiled softly. "But you deserve better then that, better then me. I'm a man with but pieces of my heart to give, and while you've captured some of them... It's not the entire thing."

" I do love you though, in my way, you've convinced me I have things waiting for me, a future on a path other then the one I've been following. I'll never forget that." She wasn't looking his way but he was smiling. "I've told you in other words, but you can have as much or as little of me as you want. I'll never retract that. I just don't know if I'm worthy of you, not yet at least."
