[Cole Ormont]

"I guess that means there aren't Sith in the refresher or the Jeffries tubes, either," he teased. "Yes, the Group Commander did think music was frivolous, but mother said it made a man refined. I've tried a few instruments, but none of them really interested me."

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"Jeffries tubes...?" She blinked, unfamiliar with the slang. But a few moments was all she needed to make a guess. "You mean... people don't seriously believe that, right?"

[Cole Ormont]

Cole laughed, "y'know? the various access ways and emergency passages? I think some people really do. And the bigger the ship, the more they believe it."

"But that's ridiculous!" She protested with an eyeroll. "Just because it happens on Vera Hawke doesn't mean it's real..."

Well, that was a small admission on watching the show.

Cole smiled lopsidedly, "just because you aren't afraid of things that go bump in the dark, beautiful, doesn't mean there aren't plenty of folks who are." His smile grew, "or do you mean that people shouldn't be afraid of you?" he quirked a teasing eyebrow.

"It's not that I don't have fears of my own, or that my enemies shouldn't fear me... fear is a natural thing. It's a matter of using your fear as a strength rather than letting it be a weakness," she said with a slight frown to mirror his smile.

[Cole Ormont]

Cole sighed, his smile softening into something encouraging, "that's the spirit." He thought about his own fears, the way his hands trembled so violently after ever huttball game as adrenaline overloaded his system. Sometimes it seemed like the only time he wasn't afraid was when he had a scalpel in his hand, and now when the intoxicating female pureblood was nearby.

"Then what do you fear?" Her frown faced away as she pushed her fingers through his thick curls.

[Cole Ormont]

He didn't know how to answer, how to name the amorphous anxiety of something, anything going wrong. "I'm afraid that there will be things that I cannot mend. Of breaking something so irrevocably, it cannot be put back together."

She wondered the nature of his fear, why it was the way it was, as she felt there was often a reason for such things to be.

"I have a feeling there is more to why you feel that way, but I won't push if you're uncomfortable...?"

[Cole Ormont]

He shook his head, meaning to indicate that it was all right. "Sometimes it just is, like someone left an alarm on in the back of my brain and there's some illogical part of me that thinks it must be sounding for a reason, so there must be something to be fearful of."

"But sometimes I get caught up in thinking how fragile things can be. A body or a mind can withstand incredible punishment and recover but, at the same time, the slightest things can ruin or destroy us."

[Shaisha Vreysk]

She nodded, showing that she understood the sentiment and what he was saying, even if it wasn't one of her fears.

"Well, not to worry then," she gave him a reassuring smile, "I don't break easily."

[Cole Ormont]

"So I've noticed," Cole answered, kissing the top of her head; but there was some shadow of doubt behind his eyes, as if, perhaps, it was himself he feared for.

Perhaps noticing the hidden feelings, Shaisha pulled him close into a tight hug. "And anyone try to break you, I will break them. Feel free to tell the schoolyard bullies that a Sith got your back," she chuckled mirthfully, even if she was also being fully sincere.

[Cole Ormont]

Chuckling, "yeah, my girlfriend, you don't know her, she goes to another school," he quipped. But he returned her embrace, his mouth finding hers and kissing her fiercely, needily.

Maybe it was because she had never been one to be bullied, and frankly had been part of the 'rich-popular-kids-in-school' clique, but she just had to laugh at how silly he made it sound. Not that the laughter lasted for very long as their lips locked again, and while at first the kiss was not returned in full, she soon found her fierceness to reciprocate in kind.

But I am not your, or anyone else's, girlfriend, she added in her mind.

When he pulled back from her, there was a guardedness in his eyes. "I should probably go, deviless," and he ran a hand through his curls. "Those Republic transports aren't going to wait for me, and I really do not want to be stranded here."

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"Ah... yeah, you're right," she nodded, feeling a small pang of sadness that this was goodbye.

She hated goodbyes, and it made her feel uneasy. Her hand brushed over the combed smooth hair absent-mindedly.

"...Back to business as usual then, I gues..."

[Cole Ormont]

Cole concealed his confusion, running his hand through his hair again. "I don't think I can go back to as usual anymore," and he gave a little shake of his head. "I meant it, what I said. This isn't me leaving. It's just," he shrugged helplessly, "it's just that it'll take a little longer to answer your house calls. Right?"

Shaisha smiled slightly and nodded once more. "Right. And I'll try not to get too bruised and battered without you around you fix me up," she chuckled a little and let go of him.

"Keep your curly head out of too much trouble though... like, don't do anything I wouldn't do."

[Cole Ormont]

For a moment, his good humour returned, "anything you wouldn't do? like be safe and boring in my quarters by twenty-hundred hours every night?" He cocked an eyebrow.

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"Hey, I can be in bed early from time to time too," she grinned and shook her head.

"I meant more like chasing dangerous bounties or poke the wrong Sith. Though if you do find yourself in trouble with bothersome Imperials or Sith, know that I'm only a call away... alright? Even if they don't care about drawing the ire of my master, I can always scare them with the possibility of drawing the ire of my father." Shaisha gave him a small wink at that. Not that it was a threat she could normally deliver on, but she knew that there would be some she could pull that leverage on successfully.

Early, but not alone? and he was surprised by the pang of jealousy over the pureblood that had never been his. Still guarded, he made a thoughtful expression for her benefit, "I'm like a sad kitten that doesn't know wasps aren't friendly, aren't I? Don't worry, I know not to try make friends with wasps or Sith."

"Wouldn't say sad kitten, but yes... in some ways you are a little bit like a kitten," she teased him.

Knowing she'd probably just keep him lingering if she stayed like this, Shaisha unceremoniously rolled out of bed and up on her feet.

"Guess I'd be a little upset with myself if you miss your shuttle because of me..."

Stretching, he laughed, "yes, that would be terrible for you if I was stranded here and had to surrender every favour you think you owe me to have you rescue me." Reluctantly, he got up from the bed. His clothing was still downstairs, and he suddenly felt self-conscious.
