With Bated Breath (Day 4 LE The Silver Leaf)

She let out a small sigh, poking at her salad, "I... don't know, really; I'm a casual person. In the end I just want to be wanted, the center of attention, praised. And to have some fun in the process."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"And you are those things and more beautiful. I knowvyou always catch my eye when you enter the room." He offered her a smile. "As for casual, I admit I'm the same, for the most part at least."

"Don't think you owe me an answer tonight either, I'm a patient man, I know how to wait." He picked up his glass of wine and took a sip. "For now let's just enjoy dinner."

Which was good timing as the main course arrived; Arsele's soup in a big shallow ceramic bowl, steam coming from it.

"Answer for what though?"

[Zanebry Varliss]

"On if you want to cross a line." His eyes were on his own meal it looked decidedly edible. Well it probably did, he really wasn't sure where or how he was going to start though.

"This looks intresting." He murmured after a moment.

[Arsele Girard]

Arsele chuckled as she watched Zane look over the plate, the little organs on their bed of fancy grains and veggies, "Just dig in I say."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"I suppose you are right." He murmured before doing just that, a look of confusion on his face for a moment as he tried to understand the flavors assaulting him. "Not bad honestly." He said with a smile.

[Arsele Girard]

"Why would it be?" she asks with a smile, "You don't want to offend rich clientele with bad food, no?"

[Zanebry Varliss]

"True... It just looks like I'm eating a sculpture. I suppose part of me thought it would taste like one." He chuckled lightly. "I think I'm going to need a few more dinners at these type of places to get used to it."

[Arsele Girard]

"Oooor... you could save money and we could go some place we know is good anyways, hm?"

The soup was good too though, she had to admit. Mostly. A bit overdone with the stinky cheese...

[Zanebry Varliss]

"I do believe that's a fine Idea Arsele." He thought about adding on a bit of teasing, but decided to skip it, instead offering her a warm smile. "Would you like to go to Ripe Seasons again? Or do you have a hidden gem you would like to introduce me to"

[Arsele Girard]

"Ripe Season was what popped to mind... I actually don't eat out much when it's just me. And I could hardly subject you to my... cooking."

She made air quotes in the air as she said that word.

[Zanebry Varliss]

He chuckled. "Now you have me interested Arsele, I can't imagine you being bad at anything. I'm honestly kind of wanting to try it." I mean it couldn't be worse then Noth's cooking. That could peel paint off a wall.

[Arsele Girard]

That seems to make the woman's shoulders slump a little, "Believe me Zane, there are a lot of things I'm bad at. Cooking, sewing, math, anything at all to do with electronics or mechanics... Among other things. Some more dire than others."

[Zanebry Varliss]

He smirked. "I suppose we are all bad at some things. I guess I didn't notice because we never do much of that together. Math or cooking and the like." He raised an eyebrow. "I'm surprised though... Are you saying you can't sew when I can?'

[Arsele Girard]

"My mother tried teaching me when I was a kid, multiple times. But it was just so boring~ I'd always end up making excuses or sneaking away."

[Zanebry Varliss]

He smirked, and picked up his glass of wine taking a sip. "Mother would of just beat me if I had tried that. Well, until I started to make up way better excuses."

[Arsele Girard]

"I was a princess; One does not simply beat a princess, even if you're her parent. And besides, I was very slippery, and knew all the best hiding spots. Not that I didn't get locked in the cellar afterwards~ But that didn't stop me from wanting to be naughty."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"It is quite fun being naughty." He replied with a chuckle. "But I suppose most of my naughty years came after I retired. No reason to hold back anymore/"

[Arsele Girard]

"Retired... you know, I've never said this before, but you always use that word; Aren't you a bit young to be considered 'retired'?"

[Zanebry Varliss]

"I am retired though, at least officially. Received my pension and everything from the Republic military." He frowned for a moment. "I suppose I still work though, at least enough to make ends meet."

[Arsele Girard]

"Wouldn't it be nice if you didn't have to?" she chuckles and gets back to her soup, no longer quite so scalding hot now.

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Mostly I like what I do, the music the cards, even when I have to give dancing lessons. Honestly think I'd get bored, or spend too much time trying to seduce women." Zane's meal was actually mostly done, the small serving having disappeared rather quickly. Still he didn't seem like he was in any hurry.

[Arsele Girard]

"Is that really so different than things currently are for you though?" she manages to get out between bites.

[Zanebry Varliss]

"You make it sound like I try to seduce every woman I meet." He smirked. "Which isn't true, I'm probably a bit picker then you think."

[Arsele Girard]

"Perhaps; That wouldn't be too difficult of a feat though Zane."

The teasing doesn't come off in her face; It certainly does in her voice though.
