Nar Shaddaa

It was a completely different kind of venue then on their first date. Upscale and fancy, the music soft and the lights dim. The dance floor was of moderate size, and the bar served a large variety of cocktails.

Z waited near the entrance for his date to arrive. His own appearance was a bit different then normal, and he was missing his hat, his dark hair combed and set in place. If she was going to dress up a bit. So should he.

Yslane arrived a little later then normal, perhaps she had been taking tips from Alys on timing....she definitely had on grooming. With her friends help she had actually put on makeup, not overly much...but it was enough to subtlety enhance the features of her face. Particularly her cheeks and eyes. Yslane had left her largely loose, though combed back to frame her face.

As promised she wore the dress bought what felt like weeks ago and the heels as well. It was in this ensemble that she strolled out to meet Zane in.

"Good evening Mr Varliss," She gave the man a sly smile, "One would hardly recognize you with out that silly hat....I'm touched at your sacrifice on my behalf." Despite her perhaps snarky remark....a tint of red can be seen in her cheeks behind the makeup.

He paused as she came in, not speaking for a moment as his eyes drank her in. There was a perceivable pause before he spoke, perhaps a loss of words. "My apologies Miss Tssilla, but you leave me at a loss for words, I'd say you look stunning tonight, but it'd be a lie." He offered her a warm smile. "You look far better then that."

He stepped towards her until he was in range to offer her his hand. "I thought you might like that touch, and sometimes it's acceptable to go without it. Especially if the Woman is worth the trouble."

Yslane laughed softly, "So I am trouble?" She takes his hand and leans in to whisper, "I brought my lightsaber in the bag....just in case.....figured you should know." The Jedi winks.

"Well shall we Mr. Varliss?" She smiles in a more demure and refined manner.

"No, never trouble, you just tempt me to get into a little of it." He smirked and whispered back. "Though hopefully after I'll still be in one piece."

He returned the smile his eyes drifting towards her lips for a moment, before he turned to walk her further into the bar. "Certainly. Would you like a drink first? Or should we step directly into the main course."

"Worried Mr Varliss?" She smirks, "Despite your ego, you aren't the only dangerous thing on Nar Shadda."

Yslane considers this for a moment, "May as well seize the night....and use the drinks for damage control if needed." She chuckles.

"Oh your quite right in that regard, I'm not too worried though. As long as there is less then a dozen men that try to fight me for you that is." He replied offering her a sly smile.

"A fine idea." He adds with a soft laugh, and walking her only the dance floor. "We'll start slow." He murmured as he moved in close, his hand drifting to her waist as the other shifted it's grip.

"Oh, worried some other suave gentleman will steal your date," Yslane moved her free hand to rest on Zane's shoulder, "I wonder if you don't overestimate my 'allure'."

Her voice lowers, "I'm still getting used to these shoes....so slow is a very reasonable start."

"i don't know if that is even possible, I at least am aware of the number of eyes that settled on my Blueblossom when she entered the door." He set them in motion, the steps slow and easy so she could get her rhythm.

"If you fal,l I'll catch you." He offered with a sweet smile, his tone as low as hers.

"I can't go embarrassing myself now Mr Varliss," She replied as the began the first movements.

Yslane smiled at the first comment, "Good, it wouldn't have been much of a 'return payment' if some men didn't feel jealous."

His lips curled into a smile. "True, you've done well in avoiding it thus far Yslane, it would be a shame to end that streak now."

"You know you didn't owe me this my dear." Hev offered softly. "Still you have my thanks, i wanted a night like this with you."

"Don't mind me," Yslane laughed, "I'm just hiding enjoyment behind the rationalizations I'll be telling the Masters if they ask why I went on a date with a charming rake."

Her cheeks reddened, "...yeah, its not something I get to do often."

"I figured it was something along those lines." He offered with a soft chuckle. "Why else would you be calling me Mr. Varliss again?" He sent her away in a spin, before pulling her back in. "I'll cover for you as well though, if it's required."


"A fact that makes tonight twice as important, at least to me."

"Oh?" She asked as the twirl ended with her pressing against him briefly, "Are you a charity now as well."

Yslane smiled as they swapped hand positions and direction.

He tried to ignore the feel of her as she pressed on close, though it was only mildly successful. Beating back the beast that started to knock at his door he offered her a smile. "I wouldn't call it charity, I wouldn't make that offer for just anyone. Plus, if we convince there is a higher chance we get to do this again."

His smile matched hers as they swapped directions, they seems to be very much in tune. Which is why he hoped she wouldn't mind the dip that would soon be coming.

Yslane's smile broadened, then she looked surprised as the dip came. But the young Jedi was agile and reacted naturally, keeping from falling. Only the most discerning of eyes would have noticed...or Zane who likely felt her begin to fall for only the briefest of seconds.

She looked up at him, still feeling vulnerable...an act which made her blush all the more.

The loss of balance from Yslane caused Zane to tense a kittle and bring her in a bit closer, it was easier to support her that way.

The proximity, the dip, her red face. Each combined to make him want to kiss the young woman in his arms, and he almost did, but managed to pull away at the last moment. Lifting her out of the dip, his own cheeks were tinged with red. "I told you I wouldn't let you fall." He murmured trying to add some levity to his tone.

Yslane closed her eyes as their lips came so near, she was glad Zane pulled back as she might have very well let him kiss her. A part of her had wanted it, but she was a Jedi and soon enough calm reasserted itself.

She smiled upon noticing his cheeks had taken a similar shade to her own. "Thank you." Yslane looked over his shoulder for a moment, letting them both regain their composure. Around them the world kept twisting in motion as the other dancers moved past.

It took him a moment but he looked back. "Your welcome." He offered with a soft smile. He was fairly certain she was thanking him for more then just catching her.

He closed his eyes for a moment the smile still on his lips as they swayed to the music. "I think perhaps we should be more careful with dips on the future."

"I think you may be right." Yslane smiled and her eyes returned to his, "Try as I might, I am still just a novice."

The dance continued for several minutes, but Yslane's focus was on Zane. "Have you decided where to go if you leave Nar Shadda?" She finally asks.

He met her eyes, the soft smile still on his lips. "Yes, and perhaps I'm a bit to experienced for the both of us, but you're learning."

He let the silence linger between until she breaks it, though his eyes still didn't leave hers. "I'm going to take things one step at a time. I think I might visit home, well my families home first. Though I'm not sure how I'm going to face my mother."

"When I went back to see my family....it was like meeting strangers." Yslane smiled sympathetically, "I will not see them again, it was all too uncomfortable for everyone."

"Why would your mother be upset?"

"Well, I don't know if I mentioned this but I'm from a military family. Father and mother both were in the service, my older brother as well, and one of my sisters." There was a hint of a frown in his eyes, but it didn't show in his features.

"They didn't approve of my change in occupation, I wonder now if they knew what I might be asked to do. We didn't speak much after that, the last time I spoke with mother was after my retirement. I think I am a disappointment."

"I'm sorry....." Yslane frowned, not in anger but in sorrow, "I avoided having to deal with that sort of stress, my family have worked in the Civil Service for generations, by the Order's adoption."

"And you can't explain your reasons for retiring to your family?" She added, "Due to the circumstances." Yslane spiraled away again from Zane, looking down her arm and his...separated for a moment in the dance.

"I'm sure that had it's difficulties as well Yslane, but thank you." He smiled slightly. "It's honestly something I got used to."

"I don't know honestly." He replied, staring down the length of their arms at her before pulling her back in. He wasn't ready to part with her just yet. "It's not something I really tell anyone. My friends don't deserve to be used to garner me sympathy."
