We Didn't Start The Fire (D10, MM, Shai's place)

Who would've thought that the sounds of Nar Shaddaa burning would be such sweet music to sleep to. And for the first time in a while, she felt well-rested as she woke up... stronger, even. Her dreams had been weird, but it had not been haunts of nightmares paralyzing her between awake and asleep.

Shaisha dressed herself quietly and slipped into the communications room, making sure to lock the door behind her. While she trusted her emergency house-guests, she didn't want any interruptions. Time to call up Vowrawn and give a full report of everything. She checked the news quickly to bring herself up to speed before placing the call to the older Sith.

[Dapper Dog]

Vowrawn has a serious look as he appears and says, “Darth Baras has a way of ruining a great party, but I am pleased this Magpie affair has been resolved. Not so pleased that my personal information was delivered into improper hands but these are the burdens we must suffer.”

Shaisha bows her head and rises up from having knelt to Vowrawn when he first appeared.

"The matter does seem settled, even if Darth Baras is deflecting the matter by trying to paint his apprentice Layne as the culprit. I suspect, to further entrap his remaining apprentice Sylvain into obedience by not ousting out his family like that... seeing as how we've deduced Magpie's identity as Raven Torsin. Secretly an apprentice to Baras, as well - this whole mess is thanks to those two."

She sighs and crosses her arms over her chest. "Darth Baras is alive, of course, as is Darth Xevious. The Imperial Compound on Nar Shaddaa is currently out of commission it seems though."

[Dapper Dog]

"Well I will mourn the fact that Darth Xevious still draws breath another time. I am busy now having to organize my people to account for the resurgence of the Serasai name, of course as it stands only one member I know if alive, and it isn't like they will just be given any wealth. Congratulations to her for such a beautiful if empty gesture," Vowrawn adds.

"I am pleased you did not get involved with facing Baras directly, he is a cretin and all around dour puss, but also a rather skilled Sith by all accounts. It would have been a waste of my resources, and I prefer to waste such resources in decadence not mourning."

"Anything else I should be apprised of?"

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"There is still one more Serasai. The widow of the late Moff," Shaisha adds. "I haven't met her in person here, but I've been told she is on the moon. No doubt, Darth Marr will be seeing to them, as he has named Kristal his Champion."

Whatever that was.

"I kept myself to mostly observing the mess and picking up info from both sides, even if Fixer 71, one of Baras' agents it would seem, tried to goad me into having Sylvain killed. A rather lackluster attempt, all things considered. Magpie is still on the loose, with her new allies in this Crescent Shadow terrorist-group, as there was no trace of her body at the wreckage of their confrontation. No sign of Layne Hoshin either."

Shaisha shrugs. It was just going to be more work, keeping appraised of that particular matter.

"In preparation of the tentative peace with the Republic, I've made connections to some of their representatives... even have an invitation to visit Alderaan. Peace probably won't last long, but it should give a good window of opportunity. Would you have me return to Ziost once the matters here are concluded, or do you have other plans?"

[Dapper Dog]

Vowrawn says, "I may have you go to a rather abysmal place, but I have a need on Hoth for a short time anyways."

"Urgh..." she groans with some disgust. It wasn't the cold of Hoth that bothered her, but the fact that it was far away from anything of interest and the place didn't exactly have luxury apartements either.

"What could there possibly be on that snowball?"

[Dapper Dog]

"Things I need doing my beautiful apprentice, I will send you a list when you depart Nar Shaddaa. You should be busy, the time should fly by... though bring warm clothing," he says honestly.

[Shaisha Vreysk]

She considers telling him to shove that list somewhere else, but the thought is brief as she reminds herself to be patient. There would be little to gain with being hasty.

"Very well... Will hope I can have some time to go somewhere warmer and more civilized afterwards." She didn't hide that she was unhappy with visiting the frozen hell of the galaxy.

[Dapper Dog]

"It will be certainly warmer, I am sure. Things are hopefully settling now on the Dark Council with Darth Baras alive and well. I am sure we will all be at each other's throats in just a few days when a new crisis happens," he responds.

[Shaisha Vreysk]

She laughs softly at that. "Back to the same old song and dance routine then?"

"In the meantime, I'll continue keeping an eye on the situation here, as well as the other Sith. Will there be anything else, master?"

[Dapper Dog]

"Oh yes, do limit your contact with the Torsin lad, damaged goods and I feel for him having to live in Baras wretched shadow, but this affair has damaged his credibility. Perhaps in a few years I may extend an invitation, but for now we must keep up appearances. But he has my... condolences all the same," Vowrawn replies calmly.

Shaisha raises an eyebrow at that.

"I suspect Serasai will be keeping him safe," she shrugs. Not that she and Sylvain had had much to do with eachother the months between Korriban and Nar Shaddaa. "Leaving for Hoth should make it easy to keep distance anyway. Any other people you prefer out of my personal circle, hm?" she asks with a calm smirk.

[Dapper Dog]

"I can't think of anyone too toxic at the moment, though if you tell me you are friends with Xevious, I may have to rethink your Life Day gift," he responds.

[Shaisha Vreysk]

She shudders involuntarily at that. "Ugh... no need for concern there. Making sure he moved that disgusting body of his out of harms way last night is the extent of my goodwill in that direction. He's still of use for these negotiations, and I intend to stay away from him until I leave, as I have some far this past week."

[Dapper Dog]

"So superficial my apprentice, his corpulence does not bother me, more his essence of being. He was a strong warrior once, even I do not wish to admit to it. Though that is about all I can say in approval of him," Vowrawn says.

The Sith lord moves on adding, "I think once you have finished my business on Hoth, we shall have to throw a party and viciously uninvite everyone we hate."

"Sounds like my kind of party," she chuckles.

"Anything else, Darth Vowrawn?"

[Dapper Dog]

"I think we have covered all of the issues I care about, carry on my apprentice," he says.

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"Give the others my regards then," Shaisha nods and cuts the call.

Vowrawn was useful for now, but she also had to remind herself that he was much more cunning than most seemed to think. It would be an interesting challenge to continue this game...
