Ziost, We Have A Problem? (D2, LM, Shaisha's)

[Shaisha Vreysk]

Seeing as how she needed to speak with a lot of people as soon as possible, Shaisha returns to the apartement where she knew she at least had a secure line.

Going straight to the communications room, she types up a message to Sylvain.

Your mother is on Nar Shaddaa. Told me not to tell you - wanted to surprise you, but situation has changed.

Magpie.

With that message sent, Shaisha calls up Paz to tell him what she discovered.

Fixer 71 answers, "Paz is busy, how can I be of service my lord?"

[Shaisha Vreysk]

Fixer 71... right, the new one from Intelligence.

Shaisha's lips pursed for a moment as she considered how much she trusted the new person. In the end, she had to have faith that Paz had checked her out sufficiently.

"Just got back from checking Vosk's place; I am certain Raven Torsin is Magpie... or one of the Magpies, if there are more of them. The mystery-person in the surveillance vids of Vosk's demise wielded the same weapon as I saw Raven try to keep hidden yesterday."

“Well that is convenient, I was slicing travel logs trying to track down Raven Torsin, she isn’t in the Hutt travel logs, and those are pretty thorough. More importantly I went back and decided to check Imperial channels, also clean, she has been nowhere for years. It’s clean, as in gone. She exists in only a few places just enough to be real,” Fixer 71 replies.

“In short, she has inside help, or is a class S slicer.”

"I picked up a ledger at Vosk's place... might be someone on it, maybe not, as she tried to claim she was a business partner with him. Can have Anthy bring it over to the safehouse."

Her brows furrows as she considers this development.

"Inside help sounds possible - might explain why she didn't take out Baras' apprentice when she had the chance yesterday at Vosk's, but from what I've gleaned from Sylvain Torsin, Baras wants Magpie found too. Maybe a falling out between the two?"

[Dapper Dog]

“Darth Baras is involved, maybe we need to let this one go. He does not take kindly to Intelligence getting into his business," Fixer 71 responds.

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"Damned if you do, damned if you don't, Fixer," Shaisha reminds her cooly. "You would probably not want to be in the situation where it comes out that we could possibly stop a rogue agent who can cause a lot of damage to this peace summit, but decided to do nothing."

[Dapper Dog]

“Well when you put it that, time to get my hands dirty. When Darth Baras comes looking or me, I hope you won’t let him turn me into a lightning rod, that would be detrimental to my continued service to the Empire,” she responds.

“I will need time, is there anything else?”

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"You will find that I take the lives of those working for me seriously, Fixer." At least those who had worked with Shaisha on the case of the Children of Revan and the Eagles would know that.

"... Probably should have a whole list of things, but that will be it for now. Give Paz my best, and Anthy will be over with Vosk's ledger within the hour, in case you find use of it in your searches. If possible, see if there's anything to be found on Muun's transactions related to Torsin." Note to self; tell Anthy to bring them plenty of kaff and take-away. "That is all."

Shaisha heaves a sigh. Not how she had wanted to spend the day... especially getting to deliver the fun-fun message to Vowrawn that the personal info on that data chit had been copied up and was now unaccounted for.

“Of course my lord, and that ledger should be very helpful,” she says in reply.

“Fixer 71, out.”

As the connection cuts, Shaisha gets her pad out again to type up a message to Anthy on the Saarai-kaar to drop by the apartement asap for the delivery-job. The ship would probably be safe for some hours, she figures, despite the attacks yesterday.

Will probably make her happy to get something to do for her seniors.

"Right... ugh... calling Vowrawn then. Again." She frowns at the prospect of delivering bad news. Not that it was her fault what Vosk had done, but it annoyed her still.

After a few moments of kicking the furniture, Shaisha flips her hair into place and places the holo-call to Vowrawn.

[Dapper Dog]

Another Sith, named Grel, answers, one she knows serves Vowrawn. He says, “Shaisha, our Master is not to be disturbed. How can a fellow apprentice be of service?”

His face a permanent crimson scowl as he stares at her, more of an enforcer than talker but he had his moments… maybe.

"If he is not to be disturbed, then I trust you with this, Grel," Shaisha bowed her head slightly to her fellow apprentice. "The data I sent to him, that I got from Timu Vosk yesterday had been copied by the Muun."

"There was another copy in Vosk's safe that Baras' little attack dog tried to get a hold of, but got beaten to the punch by someone who is most likely this Magpie. I'm putting my resources to work on the matter at the moment..."

[Dapper Dog]

“That… won’t make him happy. I will have to time my broaching of that topic at an opportune time. Perhaps I should wait to give him the message?” he replies.

[Shaisha Vreysk]

Shaisha shrugs for a moment. "That you delay or not won't change the fact of Vosk's actions. For all I know, he could have made several copies, even if the Force only showed me one additional copy. Sadly, the Muun is already dead... not by my hand - Layne's, of course."

Her left hand strokes the bone spur on the right side of her face. "Also be on guard if Raven Torsin makes contact. Chances are likely that she is this Magpie, or related to it somehow. While I doubt she is a match for our master or his closest security, I would not treat the possible threat she poses lightly."

[Dapper Dog]

Grel nods and says, "There is chatter Baras may be coming to Nar Shaddaa. Things may get interesting."

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"Is that so? Well, things are certainly getting interesting then. Anything else I should know of before I get to work?"

[Dapper Dog]

"Is that so? Well, things are certainly getting interesting then. Anything else I should know of before I get to work?"

"I have nothing that interesting, may the Force make you Strong, Shaisha," he offers.

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"And you, Grel. Give my best to the others," she gives a final nod of respect to her fellow apprentice, and cuts the call.

Oh boy... Baras, Raven, Magpie... this is looking to be a sticky hot mess... Geez, when I wanted something fun for my birthday, this isn't what I had in mind.

There was little time to reflect on it now, as she had work to do. She just hoped Sylvain didn't do anything stupid after he saw her message.
