Nar Shaddaa

The Shifting Wound, with just a few pockmarks left from the explosion it had to suffer through earlier in the day, had left Nar Shaddaa en route to the Kintan system. Maybe Layne's luck would turn tomorrow. It had better fucking turn, she thought as she consumed a late evening dinner in the common area.



((On our way to Kintan, not making an astrogation roll. Travel to kintan should take 3 timeslots, then another time slot to get planetside. So we should be good to go for D2))

Wilhelm leans in the doorway and says, "Terrorize the natives, my lord? I bet all that Sith work builds an appetite."

"This has been one shitty day," she said to him.

"More than the explosion?" Asra asked tiredly, joining her for food for the moment.

“Well this sounds like the kind of night where we all sample my war juice, good for cleaning the engine and killing brain cells. Be right back,” he says and then disappears towards the engine.

"I came face to face the possiblity of my death twice today."

Wilhelm comes back with a fuel canister and three cups and pours a clear liquid into each of them. He says, “Death huh? Well that's heavy.”

“My own recipe by the way, this is the best thing for a bad day.”

((note: retconning the mention of magpie if possible, given Baras' instructions on that))

Ensign Reshir enters with a fresh uniform and bandages over her injuries, “My lord, forgive my failure this morning. I should have seen to the security detail more closely, it shall not happen again.”

She took the drink and downed it, not really caring whether the homemade recipe was good or not. That wasn't really the point, she guessed. Then she turned to Reshir.

"It's those damn Hutt's fault for not picking it up on scan. Was it attached to the hull before we landed, or did it come in from the hangar?"

“I did a thorough analysis; it was implanted inside of a maintenance droid. My lord, the intensity and scoring match Republic signatures for Grade 6 Chemical explosive. That is military grade and highly controlled,” she says in reply.

"I heard another ship got hit. One belonging to Kristal Serasai. If that's the case it might be a simple revenge job by that twi'lek slicer that slipped from our grasp. But that's a lot of trouble to go to for revenge, a lot of broken laws too for someone who used to work with a jedi. Any way one of our own could get a hold of those explosives?"

“Not easily my lord, but possible,” she says honestly.

“Who is this slicer?”

"We didn't exactly exchange personal details. He was working with a wookie jedi and some republic troopers, that's all I know."

“Given the usage of a droid, a slicer makes the best amount of sense,” Ensign Reshir responds.

"Keep an eye out for any male twi'lek slicers then, I suppose. I'm sure that won't be a big candidate pool."

Yes, she was probably being sarcastic.

Asra takes a long drink and coughs a little at point point before managing to finish the rest. Well great, now it burned worse than something like this normally would. "That does. Didn't need more complications, but to be expected, I suppose."

Wilhelm shrugs and says, “Nothing is ever easy. Just means we get to rid the world of one more Republic dog. Doing the Emperor’s work is hard, but rewarding.”

He pours more the trio.

Layne resisted the urge to roll her eyes at the good imperial soldier act, and instead downed more of the drink before changing the subject.

"I have more business on Kintan, once the bounty's done. Might take a while."

“Is this super secret Sith stuff or just more killing in the name of Baras,” Wilhelm offers.

Ensign Reshir says, “Corporal remember your place, you speak to a Sith.”

“Aye, ain’t gonna mince words Ensign,” he replies sharply drinking more.

"A personal pursuit. Of the sith variety."

She did enjoy the many conflicts between the personalities of Reshir and Wilhelm.

“Now this sounds fun, well I am good at mysteries, my lord,” Wilhelm counters.

Ensign Reshir stays poised and says, “We are of course ready to serve in any capacity you need, my lord. The mysteries of the Sith are not ours to ponder or interfere with.”

"If you could secure a local guide while we hunt the bounty, that would expedite matters. There is a sacred place I wish to investigate."

“I will do as you command, my lord,” Ensign Reshir says.

Wilhelm pours more and says, “I’ll let her deal with the aliens. I’ll just keep the ship warm and purring.”

"Have either of you ever been to Kintan? What sort of world is it?"
