[Layne Hoshin]

Layne activated the ship's communication systems, which instantly went to the task of seeking a connection.

"If one made it out," she said, when the call connected, "the other likely did too. You're supposed to be dead."

[Nunki Malyna]

Flickering to life, Nunki smiles, placing a datapad somewhere to the side.

"It's good to see you too, Layne. Where in the world did you hear that I was dead?"

[Layne Hoshin]

She crossed her arms. "It makes for a better story than defection, probably."

[Nunki Malyna]

"Yeah, I'm sure the people would have gone mad if they heard of not one, but two people leaving Korriban. Who wouldn't want to be there, right? Every citizen's dream." Her sarcastic tone is easily noticeable.

"But that's not the point of this call, at least I hope it's not. What exactly happened at the docking bay? And have your people made any kind of progress?"

[Layne Hoshin]

"Do you work for the Republic's cover-up division now?"

[Nunki Malyna]

Nunki sighs, shaking her head. "Don't believe everything you hear, Layne. Especially from your media. From any media. We had nothing to do with these attacks. Now, I'm not certain why you'd be hit, and I'm hoping you could shed some light on that. But for Kristal's ship, there's a very clear motive that links to somebody inside your Empire."

[Layne Hoshin]

"Please, we already have a suspect. And he is most definitely affiliated with both the Jedi and the republic."

[Nunki Malyna]

Nunki steps back slightly, mildly surprised. "Really? Who's your suspect then? And what do you have that puts him at the docking bay, with the explosives?"

"And you still haven't answered my question. What reason have they got to hit you?"

[Layne Hoshin]

"You first. Why do you think the attack on Kristal's ship must have linked to somebody inside the empire?"

[Nunki Malyna]

"Well, that's an easy one isn't it? Back when I-- when we were on Korriban, Moff Torsin was killed, Serasais were linked to it. Sure, they executed one, but that's not going to be enough for some people."

[Layne Hoshin]

"That's pretty weak reasoning. And doesn't explain my ship. The suspect we have, on the other hand, explains that just fine."

She crossed her arms, looking pretty pleased with herself.

"Only problem is, we don't have a name. But that would be pretty simple for you to find out."

[Nunki Malyna]

"That's what I know, having not looked into Kristal much yet. From purely public, dated knowledge. Give me a day to dig and I'm sure I can find something. So tell me about your suspect then."

[Layne Hoshin]

"Yavin. While you were busy defecting, and the rest of the students busy with the massassi, Kristal, I, and the rodian, got sent into the temple. There were a bunch of Republic soldiers, a Twi'lek slicer, and a wookie jedi. I killed the jedi and the soldiers were dealt with. But the slicer escaped."

She paused, perhaps for dramatic effect.

"This is obviously his revenge. And it makes sense given that the person responsible sliced several droids and hid the explosives inside of them."

[Nunki Malyna]

"First, the Rodian has a name. Grenda." She sounds somewhat annoyed by the seeming dismissal of her.

"Now, this is the first I've heard of anything happening like this on Yavin. You have this specific Twi'lek? And you have confirmed it's the same Twi'lek from Yavin?"

[Layne Hoshin]

"Whatever," she offered up when Nunki mentioned the rodian's name.

"We have not. But so far, it's the only theory that actually fits all of the events and evidence. He's probably decided he wants revenge for us killing his jedi buddy." she shrugged. "You being a jedi yourself now, you could get us a name. I'm sure someone in your order knows about who was on that mission. Just mention the wookie jedi. How many of those could there possibly be."

[Nunki Malyna]

"Yeah, I'll make sure to ask about that whole fiasco. Never heard of a Wookie Jedi... Anyway, that's the only suspect you guys have? You haven't found a single other person who could be connected?"

[Layne Hoshin]

"Trust me, it's him. Anything else is just trying to throw shit at a wall and see what sticks. This guy has motive for the both of us."

[Nunki Malyna]

"And I don't disagree with that. But if there is anybody else, I'd like to know their names or descriptions. You never know."

[Layne Hoshin]

"I've got no one. Besides, I've been busy with other matters. Believe it or not, but a failed attempt on my life is hardly worth the effort of investigating."

[Nunki Malyna]

Nunki's holographic image nods briefly, and she reaches off to grab a datapad, typing something down.

"Well, I'll certainly keep in touch. I hope you do the same, let me know if there's any new developments. How have you been since Korriban?" She says with a smile.

[Layne Hoshin]

Layne meanwhile, sat down, and took a gulp from what looked like a glass of water.

"Your Jedi friends don't share the intel they have on me with you?"

[Nunki Malyna]

"I know you're with Baras, and I know what I remember from Korriban. That's about it."

[Layne Hoshin]

"I'm almost hurt. I thought I'd at least warrant a jedi-wide bulletin or two."

[Nunki Malyna]

Nunki chuckles, and says "None that I've read at least. Care to share?"

[Layne Hoshin]

She shrugged. "Ask your Alderaanian noble delegates, I guess."
