Nar Shaddaa

Adrianaa walks into the Rancor and waves one of the staff over.

"Good afternoon. I am expected by someone. A Mr
Ras Urdo. Could you point me to his table please?"

Ras stands as they guide the politician to his table. He says warmly offering a cybernetic hand, “It is a pleasure to meet you. Let me be the first to welcome you to Nar Shaddaa, please have a seat.”

Adrianaa takes his hand gingerly and flashes a bright smile.

"I thank you, Mr. Urdo. Has your day been well?"

“Better now,” he takes a seat.

“How is Coruscant these days, been ages since I have been. I would love to go back, it has a certain charm that Nar Shaddaa can’t match,” he says wistfully.

A droid pours wine for the both of you.

"Much the same. Though with the war and now this peace summit, the Senate has been much more active. A lot of increased traffic. Local businesses are booming from everyone trying to court favor from various representatives."

Adrianaa sits and smooths her robes.

"There are always ways to get you back for a visit you know. Perhaps later I could look into it."

"I want to run for the Senate, politics seems like a good gig," he says sipping at his wine.

Adrianaa looks at the man dead in the eyes and does not speak for a moment.

She takes a sip of wine.

"Delicious."

She smiles and sets the glass down.

"What world would you look to represent?"

“There is a little place called Bankor, it’s a bit out of the way but they have some good resources and a growing colony. I have a quite a few business associates on Bankor that could benefit from this,” he says casually.

“You as well, of course.”

Adrianaa takes another sip and puts her elbow on the table, resting her head on her hand.

"It could be possible. Pull some strings to get the colony officially accepted and needing representation."

She runs her free finger along the rim of the glass.

"Would the people there vote for you?"

“Oh I can get the votes that won’t be a problem, I am practically a hero,” he says with a chuckle.

“And those that think differently well my friends can be very convincing.”

"It won't be easy to get the Republic to realize a colony as needing of representation. I wonder, what is it you would need of me in this matter?"

"You have friends in the Republic, smooth over the paperwork, make a few warrants and files vanish," he says with a smile.

"And in return?"

Adrianaa stops rubbing her finger along the rim of the wine glass and takes another small sip

"You get five thousand credits for your discretion and work," he says flatly.

"That seems reasonable, though there are some things right now that my operations need more than credits. I take it you are open to negotiation?"

"Always," he says with a nod.

"I was involved in a space combat upon arriving this morning. It showed me two things."

"I need to have modifications done to enhance the Night Sabers shields and maneuverability."

“That’s what money is for, or are you wanting specific upgrades?” the crime boss responds.

"Something specific. Plus, if you and I set up a deal, it means I dont have to track down a reputable mechanic. Less legwork."

“Well what specifically do you need for your ship, senator,” he says directly.

“I have a few reputable mechanics that could get the work done discretely depending on what you need done.”

"What would it take to get one of your top end engines and shield generators?"

Adrianaa leans back and casually places her hands in her lap, her posture open and inviting.

“You’re talking some major creds here and work, I can do that but I need my Republic records expunged and I need the Jedi to sniffing around my operations on Coruscant, you make that happen and we can get you some of the best modifications money could buy,” he offers.

"There are strings I can pull. Though there are some things you know I can't budge. Slave trades have and always will be a no go."

“No slavery, you have my word,” he says casually.

“At least in Republic space.”

"I'll need lists. Names. Locations. It takes time, but I can eventually get them all written in as special "protected" assets of the SIS."

"Your records can be expunged fairly easily, or at least pardoned for services rendered. And I can make a special Senate hearing to declare the importance of representation for the colony and get them a senatorial seat."

"In return, you have your people install those upgrades. No slave trade in Republic space. Understand that by placing your assets and people under the SIS protected category, you will be called on to do some jobs free of charge, and finally, know none of this can ever be made public knowledge. We never had this meeting, and we certainly havent worked together"
