Starting Things Off Right (D1, EA)

[Nekoinu]

"Did this man teach you to sense and influence these creatures?" Lyshea paused. "What allows you to do so, Galen? And what happened to the man?"

[Galen Sol]

"I think you know how those abilities work, Master Jedi." he chuckled. "He didn't teach me. I just found that I could sense creatures around me before I could see them. And, I wasn't always fast enough. There were times when they would corner me and I wished they'd ignore me. When they did, it became clear to Janis that I had some ability with the Force."

"He said he had seen a Jedi do similar things. And, he encouraged me to exercise those abilities and apply them to our hunting." He sighed softly. "When I led a pack of korrina into our camp, he expected I'd keep them docile. I chose not to. I knew what would happen, but I didn't drive them to it. I left it to fate."

[Nekoinu]

"I am aware, Galen Sol. I was unsure if you were aware." Lyshea frowned at the story and then nodded. "To allow an event to pass is not fate. You had control on the matter; the Force led you there and you made a choice." She paused. "I am not condemning you, Galen. I merely wish to teach."

[Galen Sol]

"I'm not seeking absolution. I created the situation and chose not to protect him. I didn't protect myself, either. I let the wolves decide for themselves who they would attack." He rolled up a sleeve to reveal jagged scars. "But, I was able to escape their jaws."

He slid his empty glass to the side. "What would you like to teach me?"

[Nekoinu]

Lyshea observed the man's scars and then looked back to the man. "I wanted to enlighten you on your place in the galaxy. Your connection to the Force allows you to dictate destiny, Galen."

[Galen Sol]

"Only my own." he responded. "Is my fate what you're here to teach me about?"

[Nekoinu]

She shook her head. "You orchestrated the fate of Janus Sol. You asked for waves and the storm took him." A pause. "But you have the most control over you own. That is true."

[Galen Sol]

"I seized my destiny and did what I had to to be free. I don't want to do that again." he assured her.

[Nekoinu]

"But you will have to make choices in the future." Lyshea muffled a laugh in her sleeve. "A Sith would enjoy listening you. Their final tenant is, 'The Force shall set me free.'"

[Galen Sol]

"That's foolish." he laughed. "The Force is a great power, but what we do with it, we do for ourselves. Good or bad, our choices are our own. Are you worried about what choices I will make?"

[Nekoinu]

Lyshea nodded. "Yes. I am concerned about your choices, Galen. You may wield the Force however you wish but the effects will ripple across the galaxy."

[Galen Sol]

"One ripple among many. What do you advise?"

[Nekoinu]

"My advice is that you do not allow base emotions to cloud your judgment. When faced with an arduous situation, I implore you to take time to meditate on how to proceed. Search your feelings and combine those with the facts. Then you will have reached the wisest discourse inside your mind."

[Galen Sol]

"And, you assume I do not do so?" He stared at her questioningly. "What would make you think that?"

[Nekoinu]

"I have seen various visions of the future. You have the possibility of choosing darkness." A pause. "I am unaware of how likely that possibility is. Perhaps the darkness I have witnessed was the situation itself rather than your being."

[Galen Sol]

"We all have the potential to choose darkness." he shrugged. "It's not hard to find ourselves in such situations. But, I do not pursue those choices or take their consequences lightly."

[Nekoinu]

Lyshea frowned. "I saw you in my visions, Galen Sol. I do not know why. If I am not to be concerned with your choices, then why do you believe the Force has guided me to you?"

[Galen Sol]

"I don't." he shrugged. "I believe you found me through the Force, but it was your instinct and your choices that brought you here. Maybe you felt you could help me, maybe you felt I could help you. I don't need the Force to show me that this moon will be a powder keg over the next several days. Whith such a storm approaching, it's good to have friends nearby."

[Nekoinu]

"Maybe we can help each other," Lyshea added with a smile. "It is easy to conclude that the moon will be subject to many trials. However, your future was prominent to my visions." She lowered her head as a miniature bow. "I apologize for not granting you more information, Galen Sol."

[Galen Sol]

"I don't think I'd want to know more." he smiled. "Knowing what lies ahead comes with the temptation to change fate or avoid it all together, don't you think? I can't imagine those choices are always for the best. Better just to prepare oneself for any possibility, to stay true to who you are. You've reminded me of that much and I'm thankful."

[Nekoinu]

"I see." Her lips returned to a smile. "Then I am glad to have been helpful in that way. As for me, I am not afraid of seeing glimpses of the future. I will make decisions based on what I believe is right for that is what fate shall bring."

[Galen Sol]

"Is there anything I might assist you with while you are on Nar Shaddaa?"

[Nekoinu]

"I do not have a request for you at the time being. However, perhaps I was led here to ask you for something in the future." She handed over her communication details. "You may ask me for assistance as well, Galen Sol."

[Galen Sol]

"Just Galen is fine." he said as he offered his communication details. "I've enjoyed our conversation."

[Nekoinu]

Lyshea nodded. "May the Force be with you, Galen." She rose from her seat and departed from the premises with the same regale stride as before.
