Day 3 EE: Fire and Ice

[Dapper Dog]

"That sounds kind of hypocritical from an ex-slave," he responds. "So Jedi, how do I get one of those fancy laser swords... light-saber thing. My Sith buddy won't let me hold hers."

[Baesal Zyn]

''Hold your horse kid'' Baes said raising a hand

''Things aren't that simple...you'll need to make one yourself and that will need training and discipline''

[Dapper Dog]

"Wait... are you serious? Man I am going to mine totally wiz," Daz replies very excited.

"So how did you make yours?"

[Baesal Zyn]

Baes looked at him with a smirk

''You want to know now?''

[Dapper Dog]

"Sure," he replies.

"I want to make one, I am good with making stuff, breaking stuff... finding things. I bet it's my destiny, or something," he says smugly.

[Baesal Zyn]

''Huh-hun'' she whispers to the other two

''I'll try to keep him busy for a while''

After that she moves next to Daz and explains in excruciating and elaborate details and the principles of the lightsaber construction...making sure the explanation are as complex as possible so he would not be tempted to do it alone in a while.

[Dapper Dog]

Daz is totally going to try because lightsabers.

[Alysele Cortess]

Aly looked at the boy, then turned back to Layne. She was feeling a migraine coming along. "Vera Knight has a great many debts to society for her representation of the Jedi Knight." She caught a few episodes since she was here and man.... that was terrible.

Turning back to Layne. "I want to know why a Sith killed one of the nobles of my home. And I am trying to build trust here." Her frown deepened. "Which you are not interested in. Not surprising. Is there anything that would bring you out of your shell of acting barely more maturely that your little sidekick here?"

[Layne Hoshin]

Oh now, *those* were fighting words.

"In the real world, it is children who make demands like yours. I have no reason to tell you anything, no incentive whatsoever. And you're not helping yourself by insulting me. You say you want to build trust, but what trust can there be between enemies?"

She looked away, letting her gaze wander across the rest of the establishment as she continued.

"And the sad thing is that you could've easily answered your own question by doing a little work and looking into the background of the man I killed. And his family. But I suppose expecting a noble to do their own work is asking a bit much."

[Alysele Cortess]

"Perhaps I'm interested in what the sith think they know." She leaned back and glared the dark haired angry teen.

"Oh? The real world you say? You are soooo experienced Sith Hoshin." She rolledher eyes. "Here I thought we are at peace talks. Apparently you missed the memo." Her hand clenched into a fist.

"Oh true, I am sure you are happy to do the dirty work and leave your lord to ponder away and enjoy his luxurious life."

[Layne Hoshin]

She shrugged. "It's called making a living. Sure beats what I used to do."

[Alysele Cortess]

"Oh? What was that?" She asked.... though she suspected.

[Layne Hoshin]

"Hard labor in the spice mines of Kessel," she said, as if she was talking about stocking shelves at the local galaxymart instead of talking about a place so infamous that it was a galactic synonym for Hell.

[Alysele Cortess]

"Builds character I see." She replied, leaning back herself, her left arm left on the table... better than to move it around all the time.

She flicked a hand through her hair, then used her right to take a sip of her drink. What to do next? "I assume if I ask you what are you doing at the peace talks you're not going to tell me?"

[Layne Hoshin]

She narrowed her eyes at the flippant response to her stint on Kessel. This Jedi obviously wasn't the compassionate kind.

"I imagine I'm here for similar reasons as someone like you. You're obviously no more a diplomat than I am."

[Alysele Cortess]

She smield sweetly like a pot of honey left out on the sun too long. "Oh, I can be perfectly charming. When it matters." She carefully enunciated the last sentence. "Security then?"

[Layne Hoshin]

"No, I don't think you can. And yes, I suppose security is as apt a description as any. I go where I'm directed."

[Alysele Cortess]

"Oh? I assume you think I'm going to bow to your superior real life experience and wisdom. Diploma from school of hard knocks?" The blonde Jedi sat unimpressed. "Did you put much work into cultivating the image of a brute, or does it come naturally? You seem like the type to practice in front of a mirror."

[Layne Hoshin]

She finally cracked a smile. The unstable 'i'm-going-to-stab-you-for-real' kind.

"Master Karr was much less of an asshole than you. And Thy Yulani seemed much nicer as well. You.... you strike me more as a Sith."

[Baesal Zyn]

Baesal observed the discussion from the corner of her eyes

[Alysele Cortess]

"Oh wow. Based on meeting 2 Jedi..." she glanced to the Toruga. "3 Jedi, you decide I'm not like one." Her tone was mocking. She smiled back at Layne, her own smile tight and wide and... a bit unhinged.

"Can't say I have met many Sith, but now I'm curious. Are they all like you? Petulant, I mean."

[Layne Hoshin]

"Four jedi, actually. Five if we're counting the one I killed. No wait, I guess you count as a jedi too, so six."

[Alysele Cortess]

"Oh wow, you're a regular cosmopolitan then, aren't you? I am fit to be judged then, Lady Hoshin." Her mouth turned to a sneer, before resetting into the annoying stoic expression. "What makes you think I'm like a sith?"

[Layne Hoshin]

"You're arrogant, easily angered, and you're constantly trying to provoke your opponent."

She closed her eyes, suddenly adopting a remarkably serene expression.

"The lure of the dark side must be strong for you."

[Baesal Zyn]

Baesal observed Layne and could not help but nod

I knew I was right about her
