"It's three things really. It was a species first, and then it became an empire and a tradition of force users afterwards, both named for the species because they came to prominence because of the species influence. I myself am half Sith by blood, the other half human. Which is why I lack ridges but have facial hair, just the way the bloodlines mixed in me," he explains.

[Dapper Dog]

"Oh... I wasn't going to ask, just assumed you were non-human. Is that common for Sith and human hybrids?" she asks.

[Zeno Deathwright]

"Most Sith have some human blood in them at this point," he replies with a shrug. "Pureblood's kind of a misnomer really at this point with how long there has been intermingling over the many many years. The Purebloods are those that are still more Sith than human."

[Dapper Dog]

"So are all the true Sith... also Sith? That seems confusing, no offense," she replies interested by the conversation.

[Zeno Deathwright]

"I've never met one that wasn't. I suppose it's possible, but the Sith species was born on a planet that exposed them to the power of the force. For as long as we've been around it has been a part of us, so really if someone can't use it... well, it would be much like being blind or deaf. You would never know what the sense feels like, but all those around you would. Quite an unfortunate situation if someone is in it," he says, sounding more curious than concerned about the potential effects that would have one someone's life.

“So all Sith have the Force… the species I mean,” she says a bit mystified.

“I am not a Force Sensitive so I guess I don’t know that feels like.”

[Zeno Deathwright]

"Yeah. And it's difficult to explain as well. Imagine how you might explain sight to a person born blind," he replies.

[Dapper Dog]

“I try to think about it though, like how amazing it would be to experience the universe through the eyes of a Force Sensitive. You know I feel bad, I have just been here interrogating you with silly questions, I apologize,” she says sheepishly and takes a drink.

"If I didn't want to be here talking with you, I wouldn't be. You're curiosity is evidence of an mind that wants to know and understand the world. And it may have taken a little to start feeling more comfortable, but each passing minute I can see more confidence. That just makes you more attractive than when I first saw you." He had a pleasant demeanor, not minding the questions, and clearly enjoying the company. It made for a pleasant distraction.

"I always ask questions, so I get worried. You are not what I expected, I was a little intimidated by you," she says honestly.

[Zeno Deathwright]

"It's normal. Most are intimidated by the presence of the Sith I imagine. And usually, for good reason. Unlike Jedi we are often quick to act, passionate, and unafraid to do what it is our feelings tell us is right. Which can be dangerous when we get angry."

He takes one of her hands in his and kisses it. "But when we find ourselves charmed the reaction tends to be just as intense, if far more pleasant."

“I don’t understand the fighting between the Jedi and Sith, it seems like you are more alike than different… no offense meant,” she adds quickly taking a drink.

[Zeno Deathwright]

"The biggest difference is in how we view freedom. The Sith pursue it with everything, and know that one's personal freedom must be earned in a galaxy that is violent and dangerous. The Jedi bind themselves to the Republic, give up their freedom, and seek to keep the people of the Republic in line with rules and regulations, limiting choices and pursuits. They think this somehow makes their people free, but they become chained by their inability to stand up for themselves because someone else does it for them, making them beholden to the Jedi for protection. It's one of the things I can appreciate about the Hutts. In their region of space people live difficult lives but they live them their way."

[Dapper Dog]

Jani frowns and says, “I guess that is one way to look at it, I guess freedom was never a big concern for me. You do what you have to do, given the circumstances. I don’t know I never really considered it philosophy.”

“Guess I never had to.”

[Zeno Deathwright]

"There are difficulties everywhere in the universe. Everyone's got their troubles weight them down. Some have it worse than others, some have it easier. Sometimes it's handed to them, and sometimes it's earned. It sounds like you've had to earn your survival, and really that's more impressive than anything else. You say you need to work up your courage to deal with Hutts directly, but you've shown more than your fair share by moving here to make something of yourself. Aside from a bit of shyness and uneasiness around new potential threats and complications, I think you likely have more courage than most people in this room. Possibly even myself. There's a difference between bravery and an ignorant lack of regard for consequences."

His eyes lock with hers, as he moves a bit closer.

"Knowing what you want and doing something about it in a smart way. That's you. You listen to your heart, I can tell. Philosophies be damned, simple honesty with yourself in the moment and acting on it appropriately. That's courage. I think you have more than you believe. If I were to do that in this moment I'd kiss you... what would you do?"

“I think I would be surprised,” she says weakly.

[Zeno Deathwright]

"Surprise yourself," he says. "Let your feelings and passion take hold of your life. That is the way to break free of the things that hold you back."

Jani smiles awkwardly and then finishes her drink and then leans in and whispers in his ear, “Take me on a proper date if you are still in town, and we’ll see.”

She blushes lightly and leaves her contact information on the counter and departs.

Zeno, seems pleased enough with the exchange and takes up the information as she heads out. He spends the rest of the party having some drinks before eventually heading out for whatever is next.
