[Day 4 - LE] Mandalorian Rhapsody

[Dapper Dog]

Vora stands outside the door having taken care of the guards she turns to the Imperial specialists that have arrived to aid her hostile takeover of the clan. She is in her battle armor and this was going to either be over in seconds or get real bloody real quick.

This was not going to be a stealthy affair, no her father deserved better than that. She kicks the door in and says while raising her blaster rifle, “Hi daddy.”

Inside there is her father in armor who turns, a Republic politician and a squad of Mandalorians and two members of Republic Special Forces… this is going to get messy.

OOC: This is a combat thread for 3 Imperial players plus Vora. Scrutiny modified by -0.4 due to the attack. Roll Cool for Initiative.

Zeno was there. He had spoken with Hala and Shae about this earlier and Hala let him know when things were going down.

[Kristal Serasai]

When given the opportunity to aid in something that would help secure Imperial interests, Kristal Serasai was ready to answer that call. Knowing what was coming gave Kristal ample time to attune herself to her surroundings, preparing herself for whatever fight was to come.

Craw wasn't really excited about this. Family disputes struck a chord with him, though he wasn't sure if it was positive or negative. None-the-less, he was getting paid to do this, and he never went back on a deal. So he broke through the door with everyone else, holding his heavy blaster steady.

[Dapper Dog]

The politician an ithorian woman in an elegant gown dives for cover and says, “What is the meaning of this! I have diplomatic immunity!”

“You thugs… lay down your arms!” she shouts from her two mouths at Zeno who is well known the Republic. “Mandalorians defend us!”

The squad moves into cover at her words and fire on Vora! Vora grins as the chaos ensues and the blasts do not find their mark buying time for the next enemy to find their mark!

OOC: I have added Vora to the PC list, the PCs can decide when she goes in the order. The box is not super large so everyone starts at Short range from each other. Dorak has Adversary 2, upgrades any combat checks against him twice and Defense 1. The Republic Spec Ops have Adversary 1 and no defense. The Mando Squad has 3 members and have their weapons drawn, Blaster Rifles.

Politician uses Scathing Tirade on Zeno and he suffers a single strain but the ithorian takes a setback die on her next check. The Mando Squad grants their next ally a boost die. PC turn. Mand Squad now has Cover, offers a setback for attacking them.

[Kristal Serasai]

Kristal jumps into the fray, her Blue lightsaber igniting as she strikes out against one of the Republic Spec Ops, knowing their prowess in the field. Though her strike doesn't land as they manage to just barely evade it does cause a bit of a panic in the room. With all of the bodies moving, lightsabers flashing, it's amazing that anyone hits anything in this mess.

Outcome: Using One Advantage to give next Ally a Boost Dice. Using Three Advantage to give Kristal 1 Ranged Defense until the end of her next turn.

[Dapper Dog]

The Republic soldier smoothly draws her vibro-sword and weaves and then leads with an elbow to take the Sith off-balance and then spun bringing her blade down in an overhead chop that strikes true as she kicks Kristal back slamming into the door panel shattering it and causing the door to close trapping her inside!

Kristal slides to the floor from the surprise kick!

The other Republic officer draws his disruptor pistol and takes cover behind a couch. He says loudly, “Rally to me! Give the Imps no quarter!”

The door will need to be repaired to be opened, thankfully there are other more expedient means to get inside!

Dorak draws two blasters with lightning speed and unloads on Kristal showering the area with bolts and many find their mark but then his left pistol clicks as it runs out of ammunition he scowls as he says, “You kriffed with the wrong person, Sith!”

OOC: Spec Ops #1 uses a Maneuver to draw his vibro-sword and strikes at Kristal for 7 wounds and generates a Critical with Vicious 2. Triumph used to shut the door to the room trapping Kristal inside alone with the enemy! 3 more Advantage to knock Kristal prone!

Spec Ops #2 takes cover and draws his weapon for 2 strain. Makes a Leadership his allies gain 1 boost die to their actions till his next turn.

Dorak Nodd uses Incidentals to draw two modded blaster pistol and shoots at Kristal! Despair used to have Dorak run out of ammo for one of his pistols! Uses two advantages to proc a second attack 9 wounds per attack before soak. Uses last advantage to grant the next ally a boost die!

OOC: Mechanics or Computers at hard difficulty to force the door, or attack the door with a weapon skill at easy, has Soak 5 and 7 wounds. Skill use or attack count as an action.

[Zeno Deathwright]

The jerk that closed the door. He was first. That was the guy that was going to die first.

Zeno carved through the door with both his sabers, leaving it in a few peaces, dangling and on the floor. He stepped up to the special ops unit that had closed it and prepared to end them.

OOC: 1 action attack door, 1 maneuver move to spec ops unit

Craw took cover next to the door, before leaning out and firing at his fellow mandalorians. Though you could tell his heart wasn't really in it.

Kristal parrives the first strike against her, saving herself from what surely would have been a grievous wound. However the kick still caught her off guard, sending her backwards into the panel.

Kristal uses parry for -3 strain.

Last PC slot to Vora.

[Dapper Dog]

Vora does not move she levels her modded Heavy Blaster at her father but… he is her father so she adjusts her aim at the remaining squad and showers that region with blaster bolts to finish off the quad extreme prejudice and shouts, “I want my father alive!”

“The rest of you… well I don’t need any of you… alive.” The blaster bolts rip through the walls and glass sending shards everywhere in the chamber! The shattering glass and debris buys the group cover and distraction from the enemies.

OOC: The Mando Squad is dead after Vora kills them all her weapon reduces the Threat which gives her a strain and her Triumph gives all enemy characters a setback die due to the debris and glass.

Seeing a second Sith join the fray the Republic Soldier rolls back away from Zeno and Kristal and grabs a fallen Mandalorian’s rifle and fires on Zeno! Zeno is able to deflect the bolts with ease as Dorak tosses a grenade at Kristal. The flash grenade explodes with precision catching Zeno and Kristal as they are standing near each other in blast of electricity as it rips through their synapses!

OOC: Republic soldier moved away to Short range, then used 2 strain to aim and missed while Dorak used a maneuver to draw the grenade and then threw it at Kristal for 11 stun damage, and uses the advantage to activate Blast for another 11 stun damage on Zeno. Zeno and Kristal were engaged with the Soldier which stands to reason both can be caught in the blast. Soak does apply.

[Kristal Serasai]

Dazed from the blast with a ringing in her ear Kristal tried to force herself back into the fight, or at least into coherent thought. Pushing herself to her feet she whirled about and looked for the senator, holding her Lightsaber out toward him to grab his attention.

"You and your men stand down! We aren't here for you," she said honestly and then came the offer... well, more of a command. "Lower your weapons and you may live!"

Kristal's conviction shined in that moment, her devotion to her task obvious and the fact that if anyone where to get in her way they would be little more than distractions. It was hardly something that would sway a Republic Spec Ops from their assigned task, however luckily she didn't need to convince them. Kristal just needed to win over the Senator who held their chains. And he... he was more than susceptible to a thinly veiled threat with a hope for avoiding conflict entirely.

[Dapper Dog]

The Ithorian diplomat listens and there was conviction in those words and he says, “Stand down please… this isn’t our fight. Let us go peacefully is all we ask.”

The Republic soldiers are not as quick to listen but one nods to the other and they comply as long as the Empire holds.

Dorak hisses, “Cowards!”

Triumph Effect initiated.



Vora seeing the tides turn quickly says, “Get the kriff out of here, Pubs. Father… dad… this isn’t how I wanted this to go down but I can’t let you try and destroy my life and that of the Clan. I’m taking command, you can live… but you won’t be running things. It’s this or exile.”

“Time to retire, be a grandfather… it is over.”

Dorak removes his helmet and holsters his weapon. He glares and then says, “You got your mother’s stubbornness, V. Fine, you win.” He tosses her his helmet and says, “Let’s see if you can do any better.”

She catches it quietly.

OOC: Combat is over, Zeno and Kristal gain 2 conflict unless they continue fighting.

[Zeno Deathwright]

Zeno makes a hissing sound as he glares at the soldiers, he could feel the anger swelling in him as the dark wanted to be unchained. He wanted to end them. But he elected not to. He didn't move from his spot though, forcing the soldiers to go around him to get to the door.

[Kristal Serasai]

Kristal held the sigh of relief in her throat, glancing over to Zeno as she held her lightsaber in the air for the passing moment. Disengaging as the Spec Ops let their weapons down and only hoping that Zeno followed suit. Still, however, she remained ready for the chance her momentary comrades proved more difficult than she would hope.

When the soldiers passed Zeno she allowed herself the breath, at that moment, she felt it was over.

[Dapper Dog]

The Republic operatives leave with haste.

Vora says, “The Clan won’t like it but they will fall in line. You have my thanks Sith, I didn’t like killing my own people but at least we didn’t have to kill my father. I owe you for that.”

“Whatever happens you have a friend in Clan Nodd.”

[Zeno Deathwright]

He un-ignited his sabers and put them away on his belt, taking a deep breath as his battle senses came back down. "No problem Vora Nodd. I'm sure you will lead your clan with glory and honor."

Turning to Kristal and cracking his neck as he approached, the pressure of the stun blast still ringing in his ears.

"Bastards cut you off. I'm glad your still good Kristal. I assume you have stims?"

[Kristal Serasai]

Kristal offered a solid nod to the Mandalorian's words, she had few dealings with them but their prowess as warriors was legendary enough that it was impossible for a younger Kristal to not idolize them a little. However she never suffered from any delusions of doing more than that.

As Zeno approached she turned to her fellow Sith, "That was foolhardy of me. I should have accounted for such a thing," she offered. Rolling a shoulder that was stiff after the hit, "However, I am fine, once I return to my ship I have crew who will be capable of attending to any injury."

Clicking her Lightsaber into place she did have one thing that came to mind, something she wanted to say.

"You have a chance before you now," she said, looking to Vora, "guide your people well."

[Zeno Deathwright]

"No point in running around too injured," he says holding out a stim. "Just get one back to me next time you see me."

[Moyr Ahaya]

Moyr was waiting outside, observing the Republicans leave with curiosity, then made a quiet walk toward the booth. She nodded to the fellow Sith and waited for Vora's attention.

[Col. Hala Moraal]

Hala strode into the room after Moyr, studying the Republican operatives as they quickly scurried by.

"Is everyone alright?" she asked with a touch of concern, noting the blaster burns and scorch marks along the floor and walls.

[Craw Toboga]

Craw stood up and glanced around at the, now diplomatic, scene unfolding before him. He sighed, nodded to the room and began leaving. Before he left he stopped beside Moyr and said "Job done." His tone flat and gruff.

[Moyr Ahaya]

"Good job, Craw. You did something meaningful for Mandalore today." Hers was actually serious. She patted the man on his armoured shoulder.

[Zeno Deathwright]

Turning to Hala, Zeno nods. "Aside from the ringing from the stun grenade."

Having calmed down a bit, he turns to Dorak. "Well placed throw by the way."
