Grabbing the Game By the Ball [D6 ME]

Remmington isn't sure who will even show up today after all the insanity that has been going on for the past few days but he nevertheless comes out of the change room and waits for the team. He tries to slice into the Hutts' surveillance camera but is unsuccessful.

Cole still hadn't bothered to get a more suitable outfit for Huttball, and he sauntered into the arena in his Republic uniform trousers and a plain white t-shirt. He cocked an eyebrow at the Sith, "Remmington, I wasn't expecting to see you."

Remmington offers a smile and nod back to Cole. "Nice to see you too Cole. Been busy the past couple of days. I totally missed out on the Con. How have you been?"

"Nar skrogging Shaddaa," Cole shakes his head, "what a place," it is clear that he doesn't mean that as a compliment. "How's Niriti? Had any more difficulties recently?"

"Niriti is fine. Thanks for your help again. How is Ashla? I haven't seen her in a couple of days. You 2 work together right?" Remmington asks.

He thinks about Cole's question. "Hmm... not really Hutt related I guess.... well unless you count those wedding party crashers a few hours ago. Fought some kill droids yesterday."

He prepares for the game. "Well ready to get this party going? Looks like we'll have to use some scrubs today."

"She's been around, got a lot on her plate right now." Cole rolls his shoulders and pushes a hand through his hair. "it's been one of those days, lets give the team a little longer to get here."

Remmington chuckles. "It certainly has been. I will have to catch up to her later."

He looks to Cole. "So you had some trouble as well? Did you go to Huttcon? I heard Jin Vaya was supposed to be there."

He touched his right thigh absently, "a little trouble, yes, some disagreement over the provision of my services, but I think it's been resolved now."

"I did see Jin Vaya at Huttcon, but it's not really my thing," he coolly declines to mention the cosplay contest, "too many people packed in too close together."

Remmington nods. "Well if you want some help, just let me know."

He tilts his head in confusion to Cole's last comment. "If you don't like crowds then why did you go in the first place?"

Ashla comes down from the stands from where a young Rodian child and 'totally-not-a-Republic-soldier' sits to watch the game.

She joins the team. "Let me get changed real quick, and I'll be ready for action."

Remmington waves a greeting and smiles at the sight of Ashla. "Oh hey Ashla. We shall see you soon then."

"I'll be quick." Ashla goes to hurry and change.

OOC Note: The Rodian boy is Force Sensitive. Not sure how close you need to get to feel it. Cole will recognize him as Jeebu.

Remmington looks at the boy for a moment. "Who is the kid?" He asks no one in particular.

He looks over to Cole for an answer as Ashla disappears into the change room.

Assuming he was still able to stand up after the Nikto case Jo'ren arrived late and probably looking a bit rough. "Hey team, how's it going. Oh, Rem. You're here too. Well, I guess you can play for Paragons then." He looked around.

"Seems we're missing a few. Is that kid old enough to play?" He winked at the Rodian and went to change into his red Huttball outfit.

Remmington chuckles a bit and extends his hand to clasp Jo'ren's in a grip. "Yes I am Jo'ren. Good to see you. I am surprised myself. I got into another party with Layne just before this.

You know what it's like to party with Layne." He gives Jo'ren a look that suggests some kind of in joke between them.

"To see Jin Vaya, of course," Cole had answered.

He'd greeted Ashla, but lowered himself down on his left knee as the Rodian approached, "hey, Jeebu, you good?" His huttese was pretty stilted, "hug? high five?"

Jeebu tries to remember his lessons. Good. Why are you here?

Ashla returns from getting dressed. "So, who are we playing today?"

"Have you ever seen a game of huttball?" Cole asks the little Rodian with a warm smile. "Ashla and I are going to play with our friends."

Ashla showed me. At Cole's response to his question. Why?

Cole cocked an eyebrow at Ashla, but supposed the kid had seen worse than some huttballers beating each other over an explosive ball. He patted his knee, inviting Jeebu to sit, "that's a very good question."

Cole helps lift the little Rodian onto his knee, wincing as the kid's weight settles on his injured leg. "Sports can be a lot of fun," he explains, "first of all, team sports like huttball let you play with your friends. Ashla and Remmi," he points to the Sith, then to the pureblood, "and Jo'ren, and some more friends are going to be, uh," he's forgotten the word for cooperate, "help together, we're a team."

The Rodian nods, only kind of getting it through Cole's bad Huttese. He then quickly gets off the doctor's lap. The slave markets don't have much room for personal affection.

OK. Jeebu, go with Private Whatshisname and watch from the stands. The game will be starting soon.

"Private Yongo," Cole corrects, getting to his feet again. "I guess that's all the waiting we have time for." They appear to be short, again.

Jo'ren definitely looked worse for wear. The big Sith was favouring his right leg, although by now his injury wasn't actually impeding his movement.

"Guess we need to get this game started up soon huh? Can't believe we've only got four this time around. So it goes."
