Treasure Planet (D8, EM)

Geared up and suited up in armor, Shaisha stop to take a look at the breathtaking landscape. It was nothing like Nar Shaddaa, or what she had heard of Hutta.

"... Wow... this is a pretty amazing view..."

"Yeah, this is why I like exploring new places Shai. Never know what you're gonna find in the next system."

Jo'ren was also fully armoured, and had his datapad out to display the schematics that he and 2V had pulled together from the Jawa chip and the Sith database.

"Okay, the facility I'm looking for is up there."

It was a breathtaking view and all they had to do was scale the side of a plateau to get to the site.

OOC: Hard Athletics check.

Big Red One looked over at Shaisha and gave her a wicked grin. "How's about you let me lead? We should probably do this as a team. Good news is I brought my gear."

Jo'ren unclipped his wilderness survival kit and dug out the climbing equipment.

D8 EM. Athletics Hard. Bonus for kit. Bonus from Shai for team effort.: 2eP+2eA+2eB+3eD 1 failure, 1 advantage

Unfortunately the first route they tried was deceptive, but they did find something that would help...

There was a trail they could take but doing so would take most of the morning they would arrive at the site in about two hours...

OOC: Arrive in the next time slot. You can roleplay the hike for sure.

"Damn it, okay then I guess we're taking the trail." He grabbed his communicator and called Kristal and Vec.

"Hey guys, this is taking longer than I thought. You might as well push on with digging up info on the targets while Shaisha and I deal with this. I'll get the ship to pick us up later."

"Guess there are some challenges you can't overcome?" Shaisha remarked as she put away her own climbing gear. "If it were Korriban, I'd feel more at ease with finding a better place to climb, but this place is... different. Guess it's hiking then."

She mentally prepared herself for keeping up with someone who was easily twice her size.

"Yeah, problem with climbing is it always looks easier from the ground. Never know what it's really like until you're at the crux."

He looked over at her and shrugged. "Guess it's a hike. You still want to come, or do you want to meet up with the others?"

"Hell, I'm still coming," she shot him a sharp glance. "A hike isn't going to stop me, Jo'ren."

"I could use the excersise because Nar Shaddaa is spoiling me. Though you don't look like you're lacking in that departement... Huttball seems to be keeping you fit."

He laughed at her and put up a hand. "Hey, you're in great shape. I should know, and I'm grateful."

He continued to chuckle as they walked. "Yeah, Huttball suits me just fine. You know it used to be more lethal but they changed the rules."

"Is that so? Let's hope they change the rules again to allow for lightsabers then... but you know, I talked to a Muun a week ago... oh right, he's dead now... anyway, he aired the possibility of Huttball make an entry on Imperial worlds as well. I know some Sith who wouldn't say no to that kind of bloodsport entertainment."

She kept a brisk pace. This couldn't be any worse than Academy-training, after all, and this place didn't seem likely to have dangerous dark side beasts that would try to eat them.

"A Muun huh? Never met one. What did it die of? Lightsaber complications?" He chuckled and looked up the cliff as they walked.

"I need to make more time for exploration. Used to do a lot of this with my old man."

"Even you would have to tilt your head back to look into a Muun's eyes," she chuckled, recalling how enormous Timu Vosk was. "Yeah, let's call it lightsaber complications."

At least the company made the trip better. "Oh really? Wish I had gotten the chance to do that sort of stuff with my parents... did you travel to other worlds then?"

"So you cut him down to size. Fair enough. Shame though, I think we really would get a lot out of Huttball." He smiled and nodded in response to her question.

"Traveled all over the Empire, plus the rim and a bunch of places that aren't on any charts. Rath's are wanderers."

"Didn't say it was I delivering the complications," she smirked.

"... Damn, sounds pretty great. This is my first time outside of Imperial space. I'm envious, Jo'ren. Was it just you and your old man, or did your siblings come along too? Like a big family outing?"

The mental picture of a big Sith family prowling distant worlds was rather amusing.

"Heh, fair enough Shai." He smirked right back.

"We usually just went out in pairs. My mother or father and me, or they'd take my sibs. Sometimes we go as a whole family, but not that often. I remember my brother and I decided we were going to ride some critter that looked docile enough. Turned out it was a predator camouflaging itself as a herd animal. Wee had to hang on to its dorsal spines until my father caught up to us and killed it. Man was he ever mad."

"Heh, now that sounds more like the kind of adventure I can relate to. Even if I had to try my damnest to find it growing up with the Torsins." She shook her head with a playful laugh.

"Your parents still travelling the galaxy with your younger siblings then?"

"Yeah, that must have been strange, growing up without other sith? Sounds like you managed to have some adventures though."

Jo'ren couldn't imagine growing up without all those other sith around. His family was big, and he had lots of cousins too.

"Not so much now. They've got a few pet projects they're working on, although when they get stir crazy they disappear somewhere for a few weeks."

"Sounds like a nice way to live," she sighed wistfully. Maybe she'd end up doing something like that someday? Nah... she was still young, relatively speaking. No need to stress on that yet.

"I lived with my family until I was seven. Mother being Captain of the Imperial Guard, and father doing his own things... well, I didn't see them much, except mother who would check in almost daily through holo. But I had my uncle and some cousins, though they were older than me, so they weren't exactly playmates."

"It was. My family, grandparents, and a few aunts and uncles all lived in the same valley. There were like, 30 cousins. It was pretty mad."

He seemed interested when she mentioned her mother. "Your mother was Captain of the Imperial Guard? Don't think I knew that."

"It's some time ago now. She died when I was young." It wasn't often she let melancholy into her voice, but speaking of family was having that effect on her.

Even her real family had not been as numerous as Jo'ren's. "... Not sure if I could've lived with that many people around me. Though I imagine you and the other kids must've wrecked absolute terror on the adults.

"That sucks Shaisha. I'm sure she'd be proud though." He gave her an understanding look.

"That many kids full of schemes, yeah it was pretty wild. One of my cousins killed himself summoning lightning that burned up a bunch of forest. Impressive force skills, no control though."

"Thanks," she gave him a brief, but sincere smile.

"... Ouch... that sounds pretty rough. Pretty impressive skills, but yeah, sounds a little out of control. Makes you think that having a child strong in the Force must be quite a hassle for the parents... even worse for those who aren't adept at it themselves. So where is this valley of yours? So I know where to stay clear of hordes of lightning-zapping kids." Shaisha laughed with quiet humor.

"Why don't I take you there sometime in my super fast ship?" He winked and looked out at the vista. "After all of the Nar Shaddaa shit it would be good to head out and get lost in the wilderness for a bit."

"That does sound nice," she grinned in reply to his wink. "Hopefully, Vowrawn don't require me to return right away... I'd love to get some vacation after all the all-nighters and hard work I've been doing here."

Shaisha stretched her arms over her head. "Should show you around on Ziost sometime too. That is, as long as you don't mind a colder planet."
