Nar Shaddaa

Setting off with the Sergeant, Vec Gunner, Kristal made her way to the city that Shaisha mentioned the good scholar was. Wearing her hood up to try and reduce any concerns that someone might recognize her. However, as security hadn't given them much trouble last time there were hopes that they hadn't determined she was the culprit of the attack here anyway.

Security is not paying her any mind at the moment and currently things are pretty crowded there seems to be a festival going on and everyone is wearing masks and partying in the streets.

Kristal touched a communicator in her ear, "Time to join the party, Sergeant. Try to find out what you can," she said as she moved into the crowd.

While it may have been obvious to some what she was, there was certainly plenty of chance to find a mask of her own to join a crowd. If that was easy enough to come across she sought out a stand serving food to sit at while they ascertained the situation.

Despite not being a woman for this kind of work, she was both dilligent and relentless in her pursuits. Holding a level of determination that surpassed most obstacles in her path. Through that natural ability she was able to get what she wanted, likely through sheer helpfulness of the crowd due to their levity. Though, as with any information due to the openness and happiness of those in a party, the information was a little hazier than one would have liked.

Day 8, Early Morning | Ground Work, Streetwise vs Hard, lotsa people: 2eA+3eD+1eS 1 success, 2 threat

Vec walked along side with Kristal as they decided to check out the city for more information. She had met Kristal before though perhaps now she managed to catch her name during the trip. A Serasai, it seems, which made her peculiar company to be tagging along for a trip abroad. It wasn't his place to speak up, seeing as she was a Sith and he was the one tagging along for extra muscle but her family name did raise a flag. While in town, he wasn't exactly as inconspicuous as she was, dressed in his black armour with a long coat thrown over it. He wasn't wearing his helmet, at least, to make him stick out as an Imperial trooper.

"Got it," he voiced back as they tried to remain in visual distance from each other during the party. He waded through the crowd, pushing through a few if he had to. Unfortuantely, it seemed that's all he was doing around here than mingling with anyone.

Day 8, Early Morning - Underworld at Hard: +Setback: 1eA+1eP+3eD+1eS 2 failures, 2 threat


"Everyone's in front of me and nobody wants to talk, just flippin' great."

They get some information, they hear that someone matching the description is staying at the Yilvalla Resort Hotel, but that was a few days ago. Might be worth checking out and it isn’t far from where they are.

After parting with her joyous companions, Kristal brought a hand up to her communicator and transmitted the details to Vec Gunner so that he might meet her at the hotel. Of course, Kristal naturally didn't wait for him to catch up immediately and made her way to the Resort Hotel. Aiming to learn anything that they could in the time they were allotted.

It is a large resort catering to the mega wealthy that value their privacy. It has several high rises a massive lagoon pool and all the amenities including a small space port built into the structure for private arrival and departure.

Resort hotel? Is that right? Vec thought to himself when he received the tip from Kristal. He supposed that this planet could be considered pretty enough to have tourists around here. This entire time, he was thinking how convenient it might be for some people to drop a body off the tallest rocky pillar or waterfall. It's a long way to the bottom for anyone to find anything.

He waded through the crowds of masked people to meet Kristal and let her know. "In transit..."

When Kristal arrived, she thought it best to wait for Vec just outside of the hotel. Flagging him down when he approached, given they were clearly not attendee's of whatever festival this planet was currently experiencing it made little sense to try and split up, she felt.

"Sergeant," she said as she approached. "I would have preferred to have some of my crew along for this one but it is not something we may change now. My best course of action is to be direct and hope that the staff does not find the Scholar having a Sith for a friend too strange. Unless you have another course?" she asked, allowing the Sergeant some input.

Vec caught up to her when he was flagged over. He gave the glance a quick look over, and he thought the wedding was fancy...

He brushed his chin and gave her a few nods, "Well, I guess you drew the short straw here...but I think you have the right of it and I'll leave you to do the talking. Don't think these people here care too much, so long as you have the credits to answer all the questions."

"Then, follow my lead Sergeant," she said after a firm nod.

Entering the building she looked for the receptionist desk and approached like any other guest of the Resort.

The receptionist, a rather attractive human female with long brown hair and a stylish uniform smiles and says, "Welcome, do you have a reservation?"

"Not precisely," she said, stepping up more to a conversational position, "Bazo Flynn is staying here. We have urgent business to discuss, one he would much prefer to maintain discretion on."

“I understand but I can’t contact a guest without their permission,” she counters with an apologetic smile.

“I can put in a request but cannot verify if such a guest is here or not.”

"Inform them that I am present and have a matter to discuss that they will be quite interested in, there is much they might learn from speaking with me," she said, laying out her hands.

"However you must do this, be it notification or any other means, see that it is done."

Vec stood back and resisted the urge to scoff at the idea of reservations, various hoity toity reasons and barriers to make things exclusive. Regardless, it was better to let the Moff's daughter handle the sort of people who would pay to spend time here.

“I will see what I can do,” she says and begins working at her computer system.

Kristal finds somewhere with Vec to wait until the woman secures them a meeting with the scholar in question.

She returns and says, “He is coming down shortly, feel free to enjoy the lounge.”

A few minutes later a zabrak enters the lounge, old and venerable with a distinguished look and dulled horns. He gives a dour look as he approaches the bar looking around and spotting Kristal and Vec.

Standing at the bar she turns to the Zabrak as he approaches, "Greetings, Bazo Flynn I am to presume?"

Vec gave a nod and followed Kristal to the lounge. If this were any other occasions, he'd enjoy a free drink. However, he was here to work and not to relax so that luxury was off the table. Last thing he wanted as to be fell down not by a blaster shot but a spiked drink. "You must have been to places like this a few times," he said casually to Kristal as they waited for their contact.

When Bazo Flynn appeared, he gave him a simple nod and eyed around the surroundings to see who else he came here with.

“Yeah what do you want, I was having a nice nap until you came along,” the zabrak counters grumpily.

“I was going to have security just throw you out, but I need my afternoon wine.”

"Then I will thank alcoholism for the opportunity to ask you about someone I have heard you are familiar with, they go by the name of Shade," she asked, allowing the man a spot at the bar.
