Turtle soup. (Day 7 Mid Evening)

Z sat on a somewhat secluded booth on the second level of the Yellow Viper Cantina. It wasn't where he wanted to have this meeting, but it would have to do.

He sipped his drink while he waited, he didn't know this mandalorian well. But he didn't have a large amount of choices in front of him either.

He did keep his eyes open though, for anything looking out of place.

The visor of Craw's helmet reflected the cantina in a colourful neon distortion. Like a funhouse mirror strapped onto the forehead of a dangerous mercenary. He didn't swagger to the table, he glowered his way there. Making a way through the crowd by projecting an aura of pure anger and annoyance. He sidled into the booth, opposite to the man with the hat, grunted an order to a nearby waiter and turned to eye the man under his helmet.
"So." He drawled, letting the syllable fill a sizeable hole in the conversation. "You wanted to hire me?" He finished, his tone level, calculating and almost mechanical.

So this was the type of man Craw Toboga was, completely relaxed he looked the Mandolorian over. "I was considering it." He offered after a moment. "Hiring your ship that is, I have a little project and I was likely going to need a bit of help."

His drink arrived fast. Faster than he expected, he nodded to the waiter and gazed into his drink, contemplating the swiftness of the delivery. Probably because of his recent connections with Corso and his retinue. He thought about this for a moment, before removing his helmet to drink.
His beard was shaggier than usual, he hadn't had the time, inclination or patience to shave it for a few days now, so it had gone unkempt, like he could give a damn. His eyes were bloodshot with stress and a shitty cocktail of self-loathing and anger, which confused him. Mostly because he didn't know if he was angry at his mother or the hutts. In either case, he thought during his brief flash of introspection, that's neither here or there.
He sipped the drink and looked at the man. "What sorta project?" He asked, same tone, level, mechanical and blunt.

The man seemed to be carrying something with him as he arrived at the table, and honestly it made Z question his professionalism. He didn't even try and pry though, taking another sip of his whiskey as he studied the man. "The confidential type, I'd talk about it but there are a lot of ears here." He looked around the bar. "Not that I don't trust your friends here to keep quiet, but I like to be cautious."

Sharp familiar sting of alcohol, and the warm welcoming arms of the liquor poured down his throat and strangled him with poisonous comfort. He had looked the length of the man, and so decided to lean back and focus on the conversation. A slight annoyance in his voice, it was obvious he wasn't exactly Mr Social, he asked a short burst of questions. "I meant what sort of opposition should we expect. A fully aerial or space battle? Boots on the ground? You want us to defend, support, or attack? Any tactical info you can share about the possible opposition right here so we can decide our price for the job, etcetera. Standard mercenary stuff."

"I need someone to help with security, to keep them out of the way as it were. That and to open locks and doors. I hear you are good in at least parts of that."

He paused. "I can supplement your crew to. Not to say you can't do it alone, but you are only three and this can't fail."

Security. A word Craw was more than familiar with. Craw sipped his drink again, welcoming the burning embrace. Concentration was splayed clear across his face, a minute hardening of muscles, creating a small frown.
"Keep people out of what? A certain area of space? A building? A hallway?" He continued the rush of questions.

"Along those very lines." He said with a nod. "They need to be kept away from where we are going to be, and a few doors are going to need to be opened. It probably won't be the cleanest of job's and it will hold more then a small degree of danger."

He listened, a small frown dancing on his face. "Right, so you need a ship, and boots on the ground? We don't carry a splicer, you're gonna have to supply that yourself unless you wanna pay for demolitions."

"I'll have a splicer for you." He said with a nod. "But yes, a ship to get you there and some boots on the ground to make sure everything gets done." He leaned back in his seat and sipped his drink. "So, are you interested?" He asked as he casually watched the older man.

Craw scratched his beard. "Depends. When's it going down?"

"Two, maybe three days." He offered easily. "There are a few pieces I need before we move, I should have all those lined up shortly though."

Craw looked a bit disappointed as he spoke. "Hm. We may have something more important happen in two or three days. So don't know if we can make it for this particular job, but we may. In case it turns out we can, what would the pay be like?"

"2400 base, we can discuss additional bonuses after the fact. In case you feel things were more dangeeous then you anticipated." It wasn't a huge amount, but it was still a significant amount of money.

Craw leans back, crosses his arms. "3k, 600 credits more for hazard pay, in case of surprises."

"And, are you worth that?" He asked taking a sip of his drink. "I know your pilot is good, but how is he with guns? Then there is the third member Durasay? What does he bring to the table?"

Craw scoffs. "You think I'd be asking that price if we weren't worth that? Man, I'm a mandalorian, you should know what that means. Just ask Corso Fett if you need anyone to vouch for me." Craw said, hoping his pathetic try at name dropping would go down well. "Nudie isn't shabby with guns, but that's what you got me for. In both senses of the word." He chuckles, his voice dripping more bravado. "Dur's good in the field, support troop is what I'd call him. Good guy. Keeps the team organized pretty well in battlefield chaos.

He ignored the drop of Corso's name, half the Mandolorians in the bar could probably make Similar claims. "So from what your saying I came to hire three guns, and I'll be getting two?"

He looked at the Mandolorian a bit skeptically. "I'm not completely sure I shouldn't lower my original offer."

Craw gave the man a pointed look. "Two guns, who are worth as much as three, and one exceptionally skilled pilot, is what you'd be getting out of the deal. You're getting a bargain."

"This is what I get for not going directly through Thera." Z said mostly to himself before addressing the man. "2100 plus the 600 in hazard pay." He offered simply. "You talk a good game, but you must know my confidence in you is shaken by that unkempt beard, and the way you hold your drink like a lover."

"Not to mention that you have been moonlighting as a Huttball player, I assume to make ends meet?"

Craw's look was somewhere between anger and regret. "Where's that Pantoran when you need him..." He muttered to himself before addressing the man. "Been a rough few days, that doesn't affect my work performance. And I've been cutting down on my drinking recently." He paused. "And I only play huttball for fun."

"I can understand a rough last few days, but it'd be wise to see to your appearance when you get the chance. " He sipped his drink. "Would you think I've been in three gun fights a, brawl, and poisoned twice by looking at me?"

"That said, I'm willing to return to my original offer of 2400 with a additional 600 possible for hazard pay. What do you say?"

Craw looked half-impressed. "A man of fortitude. Appearances aren't usually something I need to bother myself with, with the helmet and all. But our negotiator was out on business so I was delegated to do this. Cause, believe it or not, I'm a better guy at negotiating than the pilot!" He gave a small chuckle. "Think I'll take that offer. If we can do the job. You have a commnumber we can call when we know our situation better?"

"As the commander of your vessel I'd suggest to spend a little time on it, if you ever intend to remove your helmet that is. A well groomed man demands a certain type of respect? I think you could call it, and it'd be doubly impressive from a mercenary."

He smirked a card appearing between his gloved fingers, as he passed it Craw's way. "I believe these will be all the details you need. Contact me if something comes up."
