Nar Shaddaa

Sylvain walked into the establishment in the evening and found a booth by himself. The cantina had avoided much of the damage from what he could see and was already back in business.... a fact he was most grateful for given the difficulty of the past 24 hours. He ordered a drink and waited for it to arrive while glancing over the bar and the people there.

It had been a rough day, the bombs from yesterday and the cleanup today. Yslane found herself in an establishment she had not frequented before...and appeared to have few friends in given the dark looks some of the customers were giving the Jedi. She didn't really care at this point, they all had bigger problems at the moment.

She looked over the crowd for a moment, too tired to really register anyone's faces and began walking toward the bar itself.

Sylvain saw the woman and chuckled to himself. He reached out with the force and made a tapping noise meant to have her look his direction.

Yslane tensed, her hand coming to rest on her lightsaber, then when her eyes saw the source....she sighed and relaxed. Taking the force tap as an invitation, Yslane walked over and took the seat opposite. "Mr. Torsin." She managed a weak smile, though it was one born from exhaustion not ill will.

"Lady Tssilla. A drink?" He asked with an equally tired smile.

"Yeah," Yslane nods, "....Lady Tssilla? I thought I was back to Miss now." She looked at the Sith, "It's not been the best few days....but the peace talks are continuing regardless."

He chuckled, "Lady, miss, Jedi, Yslane... I have thoroughly confused myself even on what to call you. I think my own exhaustion only makes it worse."

He then nodded, "It has been a rough few days... care to share with a friend?"

"I think just Yslane will be fine," She responded, then looked out to the crowds, "Between the terrorists and tension between our two sides?"

"The embassy is a mess....I hear a similar story in regards to your own."

The Jedi rubbed her cheek, "...I know the Master's have commented on my own inexperience but....I didn't quite think my first real task would be so blatant in showing just how true that was."

"I can empathize with the feeling of running face first into the walls of your own inadequacies... it seems to be a common thread here on Nar Shaddaa." He chuckled, sardonically teasing himself in the process.

"Don't worry too much about that... you're alive and not to be too blunt... but I wouldn't put much credence in what your master says. She's a bit of a hypocrite in my opinion." He replied as he took a swig of whiskey.

"I was actually referring to the Masters on Courscant." Yslane picked up the glass recently placed in front of her, "...Thy hasn't been the most hands on of teachers, I am here first student. I think she sees more as a younger sister then anything else." She ignored the hypocrite argument....Yulani had told her something of the fight, enough wounds had opened and festered on this world for her to make one worse.

"It looks as if all the Hutt's indiscretions crashed down upon them and we were in the middle of it all." Yslane frowned, "And Magpie's little games on top of that."

"It would seem..." He replied.

He chuckled slightly, "She's my mother you know... lovely lady, huh?"

"Your mother?" Yslane's eyes widened, she fell silent contemplating this, "...so then she betrayed the both of us?"

He chuckled, "Who also helped kill my father... alongside my master..."

He took another drink, "There's plenty of betrayals to go around with my family apparently."

"Baras..." Yslane shook her head, "Apparently back from the dead and now on the rise among your Empire."

"That means your own star is now on the rise as well no?"

He tilted his head, "That remains to be seen... He and I have never been on the best of terms. Less so now..."

"Even so...to be honest I have now had a glimpse into your world." Yslane tapped her glass, "The plotting and betrayal....I don't envy you whatever power may be gained from all this, Mr. Torsin. More knives at your back."

He nods, "It helps one develop some tough skin on their backside... which can be useful at times."

"I hope this hasn't cost you anyone." Yslane says suddenly, letting her weariness break her usual mask, "Too many mourners on this damn moon, too many funerals."

"Not anyone of value yet..." He said with a dark look. He then downed another sip of his drink.

"I'm glad you haven't lost anyone," Yslane responded then looked up, "The world value...what a cold and dispassionate way to put it."

"It's where you and I probably differ no doubt... though I doubt even you wouldn't be too disturbed if someone like Magpie's negative value was removed." He said as he looked out across the cantina.

"The Jedi value all life and kill only to save others." Yslane responds mechanically, then she looks away and responds with more emotion, "...I wouldn't shed any tears over her death."

"I merely have a fewer number of people that I would shed tears over than you is all..." He replied calmly.

Yslane takes a sip, "I suppose yours is the more common attitude. For better or worse."

"Should I count myself in the fewer or the greater?" She asks with a cynical smile.

He chuckled, "You are in the 'of value' column."
