Sure, there was going to be a fancy party later she had to be at, but that didn't mean she couldn't kick up her feet a little beforehand. Her hair was already done up for the occassion later, swept to the side in an elaborate braid, but her clothes lacked the formality she would have later at the party even if they were still of fine quality and craftsmanship. After all, these recent months had taught her to become a fast changer of clothes as well as faces.
And so, with a strong drink in hand, the female sith eyed a gambling table as she weighed her chances.

Another young woman nearby has already put a couple away when she sees the Sith woman come in. The species, though certainly also the Empire. She raises her cup toward her. "Evening."

The gesture was returned in kind. "Evening."
She cast a glance back to the table. "Do you play?" she asked as her gaze returned back to the woman who was only slightly smaller than herself.

"Not usually," she says, getting to her feet and coming closer, looking toward the table. "But one of my crewmembers recommended I come around, so a couple of hands probably couldn't hurt." Probably rigged to next week but eh. At a closer look, it seems like some of her hair has been singed pretty good, and she's missing part of her right eyebrow at the moment.

The perceptive Sith did take notice of her singed state. "Then let's join a table, and you can tell me how you ended up looking like you came right out of a firefight," she smirked playfully.
"Shaisha Vreysk, by the way."

"Hey, to be fair, it was an explosion... Gotta be specific about these things." She chuckled and headed over to the table, holding out a hand in greeting. "Asra Nakahti. Nice to meet you."

"A pleasure," she accepted the hand, even if she found it a bit odd. Usually people were all 'my lord' and genuflecting.
"Explosion, you say?" the Sith's smile widened as they joined the table at the start of a new round, and she threw in a 100-credit chip as her stakes, already going for the maximum.

"Didn't know it was standard for ships to be blown up at diplomatic summits," Shaisha chuckled heartily, keeping the table's attention away from her hand. She didn't exactly cheat by fixing the cards or rigging the game in her favour, but she certainly cheated somehow even if no one could prove it.
"And the Hutts of course have no idea who did it, yes? Typical..."

"Well, some variety of attempted murder isn't uncommon," she says. "Using an explosion specifically was admittedly a pretty good way to put an exclamation point on the beginning."

"It certainly does. A bit too loud for my tastes, though I can relate to the appeal of the dramatic," she chuckled and continued to steer the game in her favour.
"Was it your own personal ship or did you arrive with someone else?"

"My preference is for subtlety, as well, but different strokes, I guess," she took a pull from her drink. "Someone else's. It'd be hard to justify giving me a ship."

"Different strokes, indeed. Explosions can be fun, but there is something appeal in a more silent message," she sipped her own drink as well. "Oh? Guess your rank is lower than I thought at first then. Is it ensign, or something else?"

"Enlisted, Corporal," she explains with her usual brevity. "High specialized skills rather than much command, though."

"Ah. Well, specialists are needed too... even more so than command," she chuckled. "Can't have everyone running around being the boss of everbody else, that sounds like a recipe for chaos. Though if you do your job too well, you might end up command whether you want to or not."

On the lower level of the club where the music overwhelmed Kristal stepped off to the side of the floor with her half empty drink in hand. Settling up aside one of the few games going on inside, surely more were upstairs where she could think but she didn't care to travel that far. No, she just wanted something fast. Keeping her cool despite the bouncing music and the alcohol flooding her system she managed to secure a couple decent wins over the course of her time and only a few losses. When the table split up for the evening she managed to walk away with more than she brought.
Milling about in the area near the table she was nursing a new drink. Blue in color. Standing about she probably appeared quite the sore thumb being dressed like a rather proud Imperial to most of the night life crowd in these parts. Certainly in a place like this. Despite being here for the time she had, she hadn't even noticed the others. Too busy looking down to her left, gloved, hand as the drink carried away a few more of her senses.

Nursing a drink after the horrible day… well it was more strange than horrible besides the being nearly choked to death part by a Sith. That part was horrible which caused him to take another drink that finished the cup.
He orders another and looks around the cantina hoping to find distraction in either people watching or interesting people to chat with. Failing that he could just get drunk and forget, which seemed like the go to plan at the moment for Vain.
Which is when he noticed there was another Sith… and another Sith, with the red skin and everything… and his day just kept getting worse.

Whatever was crossing Kristal's mind while she looked down at her gloved hand was enough to make her offer her system a little shock by draining the blue liquid at a slightly quickened pace. Before long she was without a drink again. Something she quickly intended on having remedied. Holding her composure long enough to approach the bar beside Vain and order another drink. Following that she let herself break the facade a moment and hung her head as she leaned against the bar. Short cut hair falling in front of her face, it had gotten a bit longer since her time on Korriban and put into stark contrast the time that had passed since then.

"Isn't
that the truth. Chaos, disaster, then the headache of dealing with the fallout of all the nonsense," she muses, watching what she bet drain away. Well, there was a reason she hadn't gone in too much. "I may have made a terrible mistake, then," she jokes. "You gamble often? You're good."

Vain says to the woman, “And I thought I had a rough day if you want to make it better get the Mind Blank, it’s pretty much what it says.”

"Not really," Shaisha replied with a confident smile. "Sure, I've played quite a few games of Sabacc and Pazaak with my master and fellow apprentice, but compared to many others I'm not really an experienced player."
Still didn't stop her from raking in a win, and judging by the sour looks, she should probably leave the table before earning too much ire for having stripped others of their hard-earned money.
"Gambling is a popular past-time with soldiers like yourself, no?" she asked, taking a note of the other Sith in the bar.

"Your advice is noted," she replies in that same cool Imperial tone. Cold in it's nature. Raising her head up she glanced over to the man and while she did her best to hide it from others, it was clear to herself that she was quite drunk. "However, I believe tonight I shall prefer a steady, gentle, decline into oblivion."

“Maybe you should take a steady decline back to your bed,” he offers nursing his own drink.

"Maybe I should," she agrees but holds no intentions of leaving. Though she does look up and eye the working bartender with some doubt.

Vain nods and the bartender pours some water for the Sith. The man next to her says, “Maybe have some water, clear that head up some.”
“You obviously have a story to tell, I’ll listen.”
