Flaxen serpents (Day 2 Mid Morning.)

The yellow viper was far from his favorite establishment, too smokey by far even for his tastes.
Still he had business here, of sorts. Money to make and people to keep an eye open for. House Varad was apparently doing something interesting. Stepping away from the crowded dance floor, he made his way to the gambling tables on the second level. Eyes open for anything of interest.
Gambling tier 1 cheating, 1 diff 1 challenge , deception 100 credits bet.:
3eP+1eA+1eD+1eC 2 successes, 2 advantage

((winning 220 credits))

Some faces recur at the Yellow Viper, but some are more familiar than others. Most of the table, though? They're new. Visitors. Between Zane and Arali, they clean them out over a couple hands of sabacc, though Zane manages to cut into Arali's winnings.
They could have probably squeezed out a few more credits, had Arali not politely suggested it's time for them to pack up shop and head on back to their ships, with a round on her besides. Credits are nice, but half the point of coming out here is to make contacts and build good will. Winning is good, but not at the cost of making enemies.
"Your cards are as hot as ever, old man," she says as she loses one last, low-stakes hand to her friend.
((
Cool for tier 1 gambling, betting 100 credits:
3eA+1eP+2eD 3 successes

))

"Old man?" He raised an eyebrow. "Last time I checked you were older then me grandma Arali." He teased in return. "You played well though, nice to see you were able to keep up with me."

"You may have been, once, but I changed my mind," she jests. "Lady's prerogative. So, how has our little slice of paradise been treating you these last few days?"

He pondered that for a moment before offering her a wry smile. "I don't believe I can argue with that logic Arali. I suppose I'll just have to play my part as the older wiser one now."
"Well enough, I made more then enough yesterday to pay dock fees. So that's always a plus, was thinking of buying a few new parts for my weapons if everything remained on the up and up. I hope you can say the same?"

Arali closes her eyes and adopts a prayerful pose, "There is much wisdom to be found at the bottom of a whiskey glass," she says in true Jedi fashion, before returning to something with a little more life.
"A bit short, actually. What I'm doing is a bit new, so I've had to spend a bit to experiment, but it looks promising. A couple bad hands last night didn't help. But I should have enough to get started soon."

He couldn't help but chuckle at her words. "I don't think I'd have so much trouble with religion of more people preached like that."
"Well that's good to hear, and if I can help let me know. I can't leave a lovely lady like you in a lurch after all." He finished, his lips once again curling into a teasing smile.

"It shall be done!" Arali declares. "I hereby announce the founding of the Order of the Sacred Fifth."
He waves a dismissive gesture at the concern, though. "I can sort out the finances. The Order at least sees to it the basics are covered, so I can put my side jobs to my other projects. I'll work it out. Where do you want to start for your pet project?"

"And you are to be the leader?" He asked with a chuckle. "Shall I state your name in my prayers?"
He grinned. "Dear Arali, saint of tequila, I do beseech you..."
"Honestly I haven't decided yet.... I need to get a bit more capital but together before I really start things."

Well, if he isn't ready, not a whole lot more to discuss on that line. Details change until the project is over. And sometimes, not even then.
"Saint of Tequila, am I? Harsh." She waxes dramatic as she continues, "You stand before Arali, harbinger of the end, bringer of decisions you shall never remember, but always regret. All shall love her and despair!"

That brought on another chuckle. "I sense one of us has had one too many bad nights with tequila." He offered teasingly. "And here I'd thought you'd like it. Tequila is the favorite drink of more then one woman I know."

She shakes her head, "Oh, no. Goes right to me, and does not play nice with others. I'm convinced my body sends it to the wrong stomach or something."

"Anything is possible." He replied with a amused smile, filing the bit of information away for a later date.
"So, we're you still wanting to meet Arsele?"

Arali leans forward at the question. "You have my attention."
She had, of course, met the singer, but only in a professional setting. She'd wanted to meet her more personally for quite some time.

"Well, she's back in town, we're playing together later tonight. I could maybe chat with her, set something up." He offered her a smile. "If you'd like that."

A thoughtful look crosses Arali's face, then a wince; can't make it tonight. But...
"You know I'd love that. Thank you; it would mean a lot to me."

"Don't worry about it too much, you just might owe me a favor." His smile was teasing as he looked at her. "I couldn't just invite her to something I wasn't there for though.'
"Could you bring a friend?"

"Oh, absolutely," she agrees in a heartbeat. "I have a few people in mind. Just have to decide who."

"I'll look forward to seeing who you decide on." He smiled and looked her in the eyes. "Whatever you do, don't refer to it as a date though, at least not to Arsele."

"Sure thing. That'll be our little secret," she winks.

He chuckles lightly before returning her wink. "Good, dating fans is generally something we entertainers are wary about. Arsele more then most."
"Meeting them out in a small group for a casual night is something different altogether though."
