[D4, LM] A meeting for the ages

The bar was emptier than usual that morning, and Craw decided he wanted a drink. Strangely, once he got there, he froze. He told the bartender he was gonna need a minute, and just stared at the wall full of booze behind the bar. His helmet was off, and his expression was somewhere between hard concentration and doubt.

Layne had a bit of time to kill, and when that happened there was a fair chance that she could be found in a bar. Not that a girl her age should be in a bar, right? She looked just a tad too young. Of course, not that anyone questioned her. She did after all wear some badass robed armor and carried a pair of lightsabers. That meant she was a Jedi. Or more likely, given the perpetual sense of malice that hung about her, a Sith.
"Give me that," she said, pointing at some random bottle. "No, you know what," she corrected herself. "Give me some water."
The bartender looked at her with ample skepticism, but presumably complied.

Craw sighed, looked down at the bar, and then flagged down the bartender too. "Yeah, I'll have a water too." He glanced at the sith beside him. "Aren't you kind of young to be carrying those around?" He gestures to the lightsabers.

She didn't look at him when she replied.
"Aren't you kind of old to be hitting on me?"

Craw looked down at the bar and sighed. "Ain't hitting on you. Just making conversation." His tone was tired. He looked up again. "Not sure why. S'pose it's just one of those days, y'know. Feeling sociable."

"Does implying someone's too young to be carrying a weapon count as social behavior wherever the hell you're from?"
She took a sip of water, and finally looked at him.

Craw glanced at her, his expression neutral. He sipped his own water before responding. "No. I'm just an incorrigible asshole." He glanced at his glass of water. "A fact which I'm trying to fix... Or at least starting to try." He put the glass on the bar again.

"So, in addition to all that, you're an idiot as well," she said, looking away from him again. "If you're an incorrigible asshole, then by definition you can't fix it. That's what the fuckign term means, you know."

Craw chuckled. "Listen if I wanted schooling I'd have gone to school." He smiled a bit. "Though I suppose the definition fits. Which is also why I said "Trying"." His smile faded.

She looked back at him for a moment, taking notice of his armor and weapons before turning back to her glass of water. "Poor depressed mandalorian, do you want me to call your mom or something so she can come pick you up?"

Craw gave the young sith a glare, but then decided it wasn't worth it and just returned his gaze to his water glass. "Well if you know where she is, feel free to tell me."

"You know, most Mandalorians I've met, would've had sterner words by now."

Craw looked at her, his expression neutral. "You catched me at a good time. My life has been a shit storm recently. I've got enough troubles as it is, without angering a sith because she felt like insulting me." He gave her a tired smile. "This is what happens when you fuck up so badly you can't look at yourself in the mirror anymore, and then someone smashes your face into one." He paused. "Not the best analogy. Introspection is a bitch though, is what I'm trying to get across."

"So, you're smart enough not to anger a Sith. Yet somehow feel compelled to treat her like your personal therapist?"

Craw shakes his head. "Now I never said I was smart. I'm telling you this stuff cause... Well I don't know you. Easier to talk about this shit to someone I don't know."

"Sharing your weaknesses with strangers is only slightly less of a mistake than sharing them with your enemies."

Craw glanced at her. "Goddamn, you force types never let it go do you." He shakes his head. "You ever just... Like... Relax? Let down that mask? I mean goddamn, that philosophy sounds like torture." He said, his tone a bit annoyed.

"Hypocritical words, coming for a mandalorian."

Craw was silent. He frowned as he replied. "We know how to relax. War, strength and trying to be better yeah those are a big part of being a Mandalorian. But they're not everything. Being a mandalorian is also about family, loyalty, tradition. Y'know? But, no I suppose you're right. Just been dealing with a lot of Sith lately, it's starting to get to me."

"You? Have been dealing with Sith?"
She looked skeptical.
"Which ones?"

Craw nodded. "Always need for a mercenary. Can't do everything by yourself." at Layne's second question, Craw's expression turned uncomfortable. "Well I was hired for a huttball team by that Remmington guy. A few others have hired me for mercenary work a few times."

She rolled her eyes at the mention of huttball, moving past that toward more interesting fare. "Mercenary work. Like what sort of mercenary work and for who?"

Craw looked at her suspiciously. "Like killing people. For you Sith."

"Yeah? Like killing who and for what sith?"
She asked, totally not being suspicious.

Craw paused for a moment, and then in a mischievous tone said. "Well wouldn't you like to know."
