Flirting with the Enemy (D2 LM)

[Adrianaa Morindel]

Adrianaa checks her navigation map and looks at the buildings arrayed in front of her. After a few moments of comparison, she picked a restaurant called "Gelatinous Chuff"

"A restaurant named after a food that the animal a Huttballl team is named for. Subtle."

She shakes her head and smiles before walking in and finding an easy to spot open table.

Remmington arrives not too long after. Spotting the senator at a table he approaches. He stops just before her and extends his hand and smiles pleasantly. "Thank you for accepting my invitation lady Morindel."

He quickly glances around. "Interesting choice of place. What is the food like?"

Adrianaa stands and takes the offered hand.

"Certainly. I watched the match yesterday as well. It was why I agreed."

She takes a seat and glances around.

"Honestly? I am not sure. I just knew one of the Hutt Ball teams are called Frog Dogs, and that gelatinous chuff is a food that particular animal eats."

"Interesting... well I suppose it is worth a try." Remmington says with a chuckle. He helps her with her seat before taking his own.

"We didn't much chance to talk but I wish to know why you want to join the team. You don't see many politicians take an active interest in a sporting event. At least not on the field themselves."

[Adrianaa Morindel]

"And that is exactly why. Since you don't see it, the media will be all over the place. I am a new elect to the Senate. This would be a wonderful PR move. "

Adrianaa smiles wide

"Plus, watching you all play looked actually like a lot of fun. A bit violent, but not lethally dangerous. That seems exciting."

[Remmington Thalalas]

"So just a publicity stunt to try and garner support." Remmington chuckles. "Not that I have a problem with that. I am hoping to become rich and famous through Hutt Ball myself."

He flashes a bit of a predatory smile back. "Oh? Do you like to exciting and questionably dangerous things lady Morindel?"

[Adrianaa Morindel]

"I come from a noble house, so both came from birth for me. Had I not though, I imagine I would share similar ambitions."

"And I have done many things much more than just questionable dangerous."

She gives a flirtatious smile back.

"How long have you been playing?"

[Remmington Thalalas]

Remmington nods. "I came from a noble house as well but sadly it is no longer."

He maintains the smile. "Is that so? Well I certainly do wish to hear more about it. Of course, if you are uncomfortable about talking about it here we can always discuss that somewhere more private."

Moving on the Hutt Ball question he moves to a more innocent looking grin. "Would you believe that yesterday was the 1st time that I tried it?"

"Before I was part of the Senate, I was in the military after all. Not to mention the various freelance work I have taken."

Adrianaa looks surprised at the statement.

"Really, your first time ever? Wow, I am impressed!"

[Remmington Thalalas]

"Oh from a military life to a politician? I am guessing that sort of thing is not that common in the Republic?" Remmington asks.

He nods. "That's right. It was pretty fun. Compared to what I had to go through at Korriban Academy."

[Adrianaa Morindel]

"There is a good portion, but only around half I would say. Many more are Nobles or just people interested in government."

"Can you speak much about it? In truth, I never paid much attention to the Sith or the Jedi. I find religion only gets in the way of government most of the time."

[Remmington Thalalas]

Remmington nods. "In the Empire there is pretty much no distinction between politics and military. The Sith sit at the top."

"Hmm... I guess I can talk about it a little. The training is pretty grueling. All we get for food is nutrient paste. Also, if you don't graduate, you get killed." He sums up.

[Adrianaa Morindel]

Adrianaa frowns.

"That...that sounds pretty terrible to be honest. I understand your people value strength over all else, but what of freedom?"

[Remmington Thalalas]

"Despite what the Republic may say, freedom isn't free." Remmington counters.

"In the Empire, even a slave has a place and thus has value. Whereas I hear in the Republic that the much vaulted freedom has made a small but growing portion of the population lethargic, lazy, and without any direction in their lives. They complain about inequalities but do nothing more than complain. They wish for compensation without any contribution to society."

He clasped his hands and looks at her evenly. "Yes, in the Republic one is free alright. Free to die in a ditch with no one caring or even noticing."

[Adrianaa Morindel]

"The dregs of society will always be there. I suppose in the Republic we cater to them more than in the Empire, but overall, most citizens are productive and contribute."

She shrugs

"I see nothing wrong with loving your empire. I personally would not wish to live in it, and nor you my republic. Thats why I wish for peace after all. You can have yours and me mine, and we leave each other alone."

She smiles and chuckles softly

Remmington chuckles as well. "To each their own then. So what do you love about your home? What do you love about the Republic?"

[Adrianaa Morindel]

Adrianaa looks up to the ceiling for a moment in thought before returning her gaze to the man.

"Freedom, I suppose. The fact than any person has the ability to become whatever they wish. We all in theory are helpful towards each other and wish for the best for everyone. It promotes innovative ideas. Exciting scientific breakthroughs. Uplifting social policies. A grand sense of community and caring."

She smiles brightly.

"But of all of it, the freedom."

[Remmington Thalalas]

Remmington nods. "Well with these peace talks hopefully you will have more freedom in the future."

He smiles back at her. "So if I may ask a more personal question. What do you enjoy lady Morindel?"

[Adrianaa Morindel]

Adrianaa draws the corner of her lip up in thought, looking upward from the corner of her eyes.

"Hmm, that is a tough answer. I suppose music. Specifically singing."

[Remmington Thalalas]

Remmington raises an eyebrow. "Oh? I didn't have you pegged as a singer lady Morindel. I am certainly interested in hearing you sing sometime. Perhaps in our next meeting if you know of any good places?"

"Though they probably won't let me near the Republic compound. So anywhere but there alright?" He chuckles.

"Perhaps in a few days I could convince them to let you accompany to my room"

She winks and gives a large smile.

"But, to answer your question, I think the Yellow Viper is a nice spot. I plan on singing there tomorrow, though if it goes well, they could ask me to come again"

[Remmington Thalalas]

"I certainly do look forward to seeing your room lady Morindel." Remmington flashes her a roguish grin back. "Certainly more daring than I expected. Not that I am complaining."

'When are you planning to sing? I was thinking about arranging a victory party for Team Vaklyrie if we win tomorrow's game." He asks more in earnest than the previously flirtations.

Adrianaa smiles at the return flirt

"Toward the end of the evening. Most of my schedule is free by then, and I think it would be a nice way to relax."

[Remmington Thalalas]

Remmington nods. "I will see what I can do about making down then."

An idea forms. "Oh, since you were talking about getting people talking. I was thinking once the team gets more famous, that we should do a swimsuit calendar or something to promote our team more and get sales. Will you be willing to pose for lady Morindel?"

Adrianaa leans in a little closer over the table.

"Well that depends. Will you be my private photographer, Lord Thalalas?"
