Day 3 EE: Fire and Ice

[Dapper Dog]

"You're arrogant, easily angered, and you're constantly trying to provoke your opponent."

She closed her eyes, suddenly adopting a remarkably serene expression.

"The lure of the dark side must be strong for you."

“So I am confused here, isn’t the dark side the bad side, that’s like the Sith thing right? So is Darth Resting Sarlacc Face inviting her to the dark side, or is she the good one? I am so confused. Maybe you should arm wrestle… is this how fights start?” Daz chimes in watching the argument.

[Layne Hoshin]

She opened her eyes again, glancing toward Daz. Surprisingly, she did not glare at him for insulting her.

Though she did file it away for later.

"Dark and light are just two halves of the same force. One is not all-bad while the other is all-good. Only a Jedi would deal in such absolutes."

She turned back to Alysele.

"Isn't that right?"

[Alysele Cortess]

Alysele looked at LAyne, in the eye, her eyes aflame with blue fire.

"You are right. The Force is one." Se let out a breath. I think that is what Fehraro told me.

"It is how you use it and whether you give in to temptation that defines you." She looked to the boy. "The Jedi teach that absolute discipline is the best way to utilize the Force. If you do not control yourself, how can you control another, even more so such a fundamental part of the universe?"

[Layne Hoshin]

Not exactly the response she had hoped to draw out, but perhaps one that was needed, making the encounter less overtly antagonistic, though unity was far from achieved.

"The force is not yours to control."

[Alysele Cortess]

"My will is though." She tilted her chin, still glaring at Layne.

[Layne Hoshin]

"That remains to be seen," she said calmly, though there was much fury in her eyes, hinting at her own continuing struggles along similar lines.

[Dapper Dog]

"So... more fizzy pop?" Daz adds.

[Alysele Cortess]

"I look forward to the judging." Alysele locked eyes with Layne, but otherwise didn't say or do anything,

[Baesal Zyn]

Baesal arrives and brings the women a mighty pint of Membrosia

''You two need more alcool in your blood.''

She shakes her head and turns to Alysele

''Lets keep this civil and remember your manners. Layne had no obligation to come here and meet you...so please show a little respect.''

[Layne Hoshin]

Layne smirked at Alysele as Baesal spoke, and leaned back again. It totally wasn't helping, but fortunately the drink placated her somewhat.

"I probably shouldn't. Discipline and all. I had a fair bit of... something bright-colored earlier."

And then she sipped the drink.

[Alysele Cortess]

Alysele sipped her drink as well, her eyes not leaving. "Something bright colored describes a great many things on Nar Shadda." She smiled though it was a bit artificial. "You are enjoying your stay on the moon so far?"

[Layne Hoshin]

She shrugged, "I suppose. As much as one can enjoy a place run by the hutts."
