With Bated Breath (Day 4 LE The Silver Leaf)

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Blue is your color, and it should fit rather nicely." He smiled slyly. "At least as long as I'm right about everything."

"Still I'm glad you liked it, it was tough coming to a final decision."

[Arsele Girard]

"Believe me, I know the feeling. Perhaps I should save this dress for a special occasion?" she asks, looking at him curiously.

[Zanebry Varliss]

"I'd like that." He picked up his glass and took a small sip. "Mind you I'm still considering what that special occasion might be."

He smiled and looked into her in the eyes. "Perhaps you'd suggest something you'd enjoy?"

[Arsele Girard]

"Well, with you, I figured it would be dancing. Just the two of us; Because I never did get the answer to that question last night~"

[Zanebry Varliss]

"No you didnt." He replied with a soft chuckle. "I was swept away before we could talk for any length of time."

"Dancing it will be then, just the two of us." If there was any second meaning behind that sentence it was well hidden, and momemts later he gestured towards the other gift. "Go ahead."

[Arsele Girard]

Nodding, she looked down at the small box, opening it carefully. As she saw the earrings... Arsele frowned.

"...are you sure you aren't spoiling me with these though? I know you like me, and I like spending time with you as well... But this all is really high class stuff. For me."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Perhaps I am." He conceded taking another drink of his wine. "I intended to only by the dress at first, but then I started thinking. The lives we lead sometime require us to leave things behind. Those are the gift you can take with you, should you ever have to abandon the other."

"And if nothing else they're worth a fair amount of credits if you're in a pinch."

[Arsele Girard]

Her face melted a little into a wan smile, "I certainly won't refuse them; Not from you, Zanebry. Just... I'm not a princess anymore, you know? I'm just simple little Arsele; I want... I want to earn what I get, not feel like my life is just handed to me."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Who says you haven't?" He asked as set sat down his glass of wine. "You shot a man for me just the other day Arsele, your blaster may of been on stun, but you didn't have to do that."

He sighed softly. "People that fight with me, for me, they mean a lot to me. I just wanted you to know that."

[Arsele Girard]

Arsele kind of DID wonder why she'd done that; Normally, butting into others fights wasn't her M.O..

"Boss docked my pay for that too," she chuckled softly.

[Zanebry Varliss]

He smirked and stifled a chuckle. "I know, and I kept that in mind while I was shopping beautiful."

"Perhaps we'll have to play together again sometime soon? We can skip out on the violence this time."

[Arsele Girard]

"If you can promise no interruptions then so can I; And it looks like I'll have more gigs in the near future anyways."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Oh? Haven't found someone to replace me I hope?" He picked up his glass again and took a sip.

[Arsele Girard]

"Nothing like that; Just less Huttball, for reasons you already know. Means I've had more openings in y schedule to accept work; A few singing gigs and a few shifts at the Dancing Girl."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Well, you have my number if you need me, and who knows I might end up with a little work to pass your way."

"I know you don't mind the dancing, but the pay can't be that good after all. I could probably pay you more to serve as a distraction for me when out gambling."

[Arsele Girard]

"You know I would take you over any other musician on this moon, Zane," she says with soft sincerity, "As to the gambling... it's just not as thrilling to me as baring my all. No offense."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"I suppose I can understand that." He smirked slightly. "Though now I'm curious... Do you really take it all off? Or do a few things remain."

[Arsele Girard]

"Depends on the routine I'm doing~ But sometimes I end up in not a thread."

She stopped just as the first courses came out; some hot seed bread and their vegetables.

[Zanebry Varliss]

He smirked. "You're going to entice me to go at this rate." His tone waa teasing though, and it was probably obvious that he'd never attend.

Picking up the wine bottle he refilled their glasses, setting it down as he picked up his utensils. "It looks better then I though it would."

[Arsele Girard]

"Like I said, the technique and presentation is half of what you're paying for in a place like this. So itbetter."

She takes a bite of salad, thoughtful pause before commenting, "Good house vinaigrette too."

Another bite, another casual comment, "If you don't want to pay, you could always arrange a private show."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"I'm happy to hear." He replied as he followed her lead and began to dig in. He probably would eat some of the things the chefs set aside as decorative, but hinestly he couldn't tell the difference.

"it's not about the money Arsele." He looked her in the eyes "It's about me and you, and i'll only accept if you want it as much as I do."

[Arsele Girard]

She pauses mid-bite a moment before nodding, not saying anything in response as she chewed thoughtfully then took a long sip of wine.

[Zanebry Varliss]

That was honestly not the answer he was expecting, and we was struck dumb for a moment. It took him a few moments moments of picking at his food before he came up with a way to answer. "Shall I escort you home tonight then?"

After he said it he couldn't help but sigh and bring his hand up to his temples. "Why is this suddenly so embarrassing? I think this restaurant has me feeling a bit pretentious."

[Arsele Girard]

Arsele seemed confused a moment before holding up a hand, "Don't get me wrong; I nodded because I understand what you're saying. And I agree, to an extent. But I can't ~really~ agree because I don't actually know what you want; You're always obfuscating things behind being a gentleman."

[Zanebry Varliss]

He had really muddled that up, and it was his turn for a bit of color to reach his cheeks, after a moment to collect himself he spoke. "That's probably because I'm not sure what I want." He offered at last. "A good portion of me wants more of you, to hold you in my arms, to kiss... The other half respects what we have, our music, our playful conversations and doesn't want it to change."

"Honestly, I'm wondering what would prefer as well? Something casual? Something more? To remain what we are? I suppose that's what I was trying to ask earlier. Accepting a private dance would be crossing a line for me. Are you alright with that?"
