"One person seems like kind of a limited view... People don't always know the best course, but a certain amount of freedom is pretty important," she says. "What would be there to keep a person in that position receptive to what's actually good for everyone rather than indulging in strongarming simply what they think is best? And how is someone in that position supposed to tell the difference?"

"A lot of that was the reason why the Dark Council was formed originally," she said with a small smile. "I believe that if someone is strong enough in the Force, and learns to use its powers, they would be able to tell the differences and know the wisest course of action."

"Of course, that doesn't mean people will agree it's the wisest course of action. I admit, it's all rather recent thinking of mine... it's not that long ago that I believed in the infallibility of the Empire, the Emperor, and the Sith code, but recent events have opened my eyes."

Shaisha finished off her iced caff. "It's all ideas that will take a long time to form and culminate, but I do know that the codes of the Jedi and Sith are outdated and oppressing both sides."

Luth smiled a little. "I don't believe in infallibility, period. Always be wary of anyone trying to tell you something or someone can't be wrong. I've never seen anyone use that idea used on another person with their best interests at heart."

She sits back. "But your ideas certainly have more merit than many I've heard. I'll be interested to see where they go."
