Doctor, Doctor (Day 0 Holochat - Night Saber)

[Ashla Vyliis]

"Tsk. No. But I don't have a choice. But as soon as I can leave without going to prison, I'm going to." Ashla shrugs. "Well, whatever suits you."

[Cole Ormont]

Prison? this just gets better and better. Did she kill people?

He does one of those shrugs where his shoulders barely move, like the actual motion wasn't worth the effort, "I signed a contract, I got a little time before I decide if I sign again." He pulls his datapad closer, scrolling through the dossier, seeing what leaps out at him, but not actually reading it.

He would find that her crimes include drugging people, robbery, operating a medical facility without a license, impersonating a doctor, reckless manslaughter (of her patients who died), and organ harvesting (there's a note questioning if she killed any patients for organs, but evidence seems to support her claim that she took organs of those who died rather than intentionally killing people).

"Yeah. Contracts suck. Just make sure you read anything a Hutt gives you twice."

[Cole Ormont]

"Prudent," Cole agrees, pursing his lips and nodding. "Sheesh, this dossier is longer than half my study texts. You're seventeen?" he whistles through his teeth, "you have been busy," and he shakes his head.

[Ashla Vyliis]

"Like I said, I'm enthusiastic." Ashla smiles not particularly realizing what he may be referring to.

[Cole Ormont]

He leans back and laughs, it was really the only option, enthusiastically hacking her way through a fake medical career, amazing.

"So, what is it you're looking for from me, here? Really? Am I supposed to put you in a classroom like you're twelve?"

[Ashla Vyliis]

Ashla shrugs. "My master said contact you. So, I did. I don't think she expects you to give me a full medical education. But she seems to think you make me a better doctor. Something about following your example or something." Ashla was highly skeptical of this plan.

[Cole Ormont]

He laughs and pushes his fingers through his hair. "Well, that doesn't make sense," shrugging, "she couldn't have said that. 'S'not like I'm going to Nar Shaddaa to open a medical practice. Far as I can tell, I'm here sit around with my thumb up my ass while important people talk and make sure I don't make the Navy look bad."

He massages the back of his neck with one hand, "unless your master is particularly in a hurry for you to learn something, hell if I know what, though."

[Ashla Vyliis]

"I'm pretty sure she said something like that." Ashla shrugs. "I only listen like half the time. Honestly, she probably just wants to keep me busy. Like I'm going to get into trouble. I'm a Jedi. Jedi can resist suchtirfling temptations as Nar Shaddaa." After she finishes talking, Ashla looks confused. Did I really say that with a straight face?

[Cole Ormont]

"Which temptations would that be, exactly?" he glances down at the datapad, scrolls upwards. "Drugs? robbery? were you planning on starting another illegal practice?" he cocks an eyebrow and grins roguishly, "or perhaps there's something even more dastardly you're cooking up."

[Ashla Vyliis]

Ashla grimaces. "Tsk. Those robberies were 5 years ago. That was so long ago." She shrugs. "And I have never done drugs. Also, since the Hutts only require fees to be paid, my practice will be totally legal."

Ashle cocks her head. "Dastardly? Oh. I'm planning on selling Jedi secrets out to the Sith. Is that good enough?" There's some degree of sarcasm in her voice. "Or would you prefer me to come up with something more dastardly?"

[Cole Ormont]

He half-snorts, half-laughs, and it sounds like a grunt. "Selling Jedi secrets to the Sith? That's the best you can do? I'm not entirely sure you're the person this dossier is referring to." He points at the datapad, "this kid in this file, she'd be more creative than that." He pushes his fingers through him hair and stretches his legs.

[Ashla Vyliis]

Ashla felt she should be annoyed, but she was more confused than anything. "I'm sorry. Are you actually wanting me to do something the Jedi wouldn't approve of?"

[Cole Ormont]

"Of course not," and he rolled his eyes; sure, someone says "I dub thee Jedi" and suddenly you're a paragon.

"Quite the opposite really, why do you think I'm going to the Red Light District tomorrow? It's not to take in the sights."

[Ashla Vyliis]

Ashla understands. "Oh. I see. The lonely Navy man, huh?" After a moment, she shrugs. "Fine. 500 credits."

[Cole Ormont]

Cole's mouth falls open again, holding up one finger, he squeezes his eyes shut. He makes that gesture for 'wait a moment' three of four times before he opens his eyes again. "Shit on a stick. I think I'll just pretend you didn't say that," and hope that the Hutts aren't recording this conversation.

He screws up his entire face, shakes his head, and runs his fingers through his curls. "Look, Nar Shaddaa has been taking on a lot of refugees from the Outer Rim. More than a few of them are probably wounded or sick. Most of them have nothing but the clothes on their backs. You've worked slums, I don't need to tell you."

[Ashla Vyliis]

Ashla looks more confused. "So.... what? You're planning on doing some sort illegal-in-proper-space medical experiments?" She shrugs. "Sure. I guess? I might need to ask a Jedi if the Code will allow this."

[Cole Ormont]

Cole grunts, throwing the datapad on the pathetic excuse for a desk and planting both hands on the surface. "The hell is wrong with you? Of course the Jedi Code won't allow for that! Why the hell would..?" He runs a hand through his hair, "why would your mind even go there?"

He throws himself back in his chair, muttering, "fuck me sideways with a salad fork."

[Ashla Vyliis]

"I know the Code wouldn't allow that. I was being nice." She assumed it would get turned down. But you never know. "You're talking about being dastardly and creative. Well, there it is. Instead of being coy, maybe you should say what you want."

[Cole Ormont]

Shaking his head, he adjusted his trousers and slouched further in the chair. Nice? He suddenly realises that she had agreed with him to be appeasing, and that confused him. At the start of this conversation, she'd been spiteful and antagonistic, now she's offering to whore herself and agreeing to immoral experiments to be "nice"?

"Refugees. Wounded and sick. I'm going to go down there and find out what assistance I can offer. I thought if you can along, I'd be able to see what you know, out in the field."

[Ashla Vyliis]

Ashla was confused too, if for different reasons. "Ummm.... How is that dastardly? Or creative?"

[Cole Ormont]

"That's what you think? You think your master sent you to learn from my example because I'm the creative and dastardly one?" He snort-laughs, "now I know what your master expects you to learn. She wants you to learn how to be as boring as I am." He laughs more openly now.

[Ashla Vyliis]

"No. You were talking about me being dastardly and creative and then started talking about why you wanted me in the Red Light district." Ashla shrugs. "I thought they were related." The bastard is laughing at me now. Her eyes narrow.

[Cole Ormont]

He shrugs and runs his fingers through his hair, "I guess I can see that. The connection was supposed to go the other way. Contrast, not compare." He ticks the points off on his long fingers; one, "we were discussing your earlier crimes," two, "you asked me if I expected you to do something against the Code," three, "I said no and asked why you thought we were going..."

He frowns, "wait, you thought I was going to the Red Light District to pay for pussy and that I'd want to take you with?" Cole exhales disbelievingly.

Ashla shrugs. "I've seen some weird shit."
