His head waved back and forth for a moment, "In one sense. Though there are those who would say enough research in the Dark Side would reveal means to accomplish anything..."

He straightened his neck a bit, "Both have their uses. If there was no use in the Light the Jedi would not have lasted this long. Theoretically, both can be used to obtain an objective, some methods are just more optimal than others in a given situation. Like I mentioned before... power and strength are entirely situational."

[Layne Hoshin]

"No matter what anyone says, there's things only the light side can accomplish, and things only the dark side can accomplish. They're just very specific things."

[Sylvain Torsin]

He tilted his head, "I suppose I understand what you are saying. I mean... for instance, if you want someone to do what you want them to do you can potentially use either side; though the means by which that objective are accomplished are quite different. And the consequences that arise from that choice will shape the interactions that follow. There are means to an end which only the Light can do; and depending on the circumstances and the possible futures that follow they might be the best fit for that situation. The same is true of the Dark."

He tilts his eyebrows a bit, "Is this a topic you are interested in recently? I didn't take you for one interested in the lore of the Force."

[Layne Hoshin]

"Because I'm just an attack dog," she raised a wagging finger, "you and your mistaken conceptions."

She withdrew the finger. "I've had a renewed interest in a phenomenon I came across on Korriban. One caused by the dark side, and healed by the light."

[Sylvain Torsin]

"Oh?" He asked with interest.

[Layne Hoshin]

"You ever heard about what Zash and her little followers did in a certain tomb?"

[Sylvain Torsin]

"I know of the ritual she was trying to achieve. She implemented it on someone?" He asked.

[Layne Hoshin]

She seemed amused by how she was more knowledgeable about something than Sylvain.

"She brought along a bunch of students into that tomb. And when they all came out, there was one less. The others allowed him to be sacrificed for Zash's power. One actively held him down. One guess as to who that was. He's the one that talked big about loyalty to his friends."

She shrugged.

"Anyway, Zash gets her little power boost, but nobody there knows what really happened to the soul she sucked out. Not even Zash. Probably thinks he got disintegrated, but he turned into a force wound instead. Pretty nasty stuff."

[Sylvain Torsin]

Sylvain thought for a moment, "So that is what happened to poor Gerald? And held down by Zeno? No wonder the other two lost their appetite for dealing with him."

He looked around, "And I assume you meant with this ghost. And named the ship after him even. Did you find a way to end his suffering?"

[Layne Hoshin]

She threw up a hand in protest. "I did *not* name the ship after him."

And lowered it again. "But I did deal with it, yes. It was an... interesting experience. Usually force wounds don't manifest in people like that."

[Sylvain Torsin]

"How did you know how to deal with an issue like that?" He asked.

[Layne Hoshin]

"Guess I'm just gifted like that. Force works in mysterious ways. Whatever. I'm interested to see if I can reproduce the feat."

[Nekoinu]

Casna, for her part, stayed silent as well and munched away at her food. Whatever thoughts she had were kept within. The only exception was the occasional glances she gave to Asra.

[Sylvain Torsin]

He chuckled, "Have it your way then I suppose. I won't pry at all your secrets in our first civil conversation."

He turned to Asra, "I must ask that any experiments you try don't use Miss Nakahti, she's a valuable asset; not the type to be wasted for your own learning. That goes for the 'taking everyone with you' thing as well."

[Layne Hoshin]

"I'm not sure what kind of experiments you're even imagining."

[Sylvain Torsin]

"Duplicating what you did last time. I assume that is how you mean to reproduce the same results... by doing it again."

He replied.

"But either way... I was merely commenting on making sure you take good care of Corporal Nakahti. Have you spoken to her much?"

[Layne Hoshin]

She sighed, all teenage drama. "I was thinking of finding a regular wound, not one centered in a person."

Then, in another dramatic teen gesture, crossed her arms and looked at the indicated person.

"Not really."

[Sylvain Torsin]

He chuckled, "You seem so excited about the possibility."

[Luth Khalan]

Asra looked up and over when she heard her name mentioned, and once Layne had answered, comments, "Appreciate you seeing that there's more to this than being a human gun turret. I tend to be laconic, so not surprising."

[Nekoinu]

Casna muffled a laugh. "Looks like you're popular, Corporal. I wouldn't say I envy you though."

[Layne Hoshin]

"Well, I'd ask how you two met, but since I know you two aren't banging I'm not sure that's really relevant."

Leave it to Layne to bring the... whatever that was.

[Sylvain Torsin]

"Charming to the last." Slyvain chuckled and shook his head.

[Luth Khalan]

Asra raised her eyebrows and nodded toward Casna, in an I hear that sort of expression. "Pretty basic story, anyway."

[Layne Hoshin]

"At least one of us is. Still, I imagine there's uses for someone with a big blaster. Shii-cho isn't really equipped for range."

[Luth Khalan]

"Slugthrower," she clarifies. "But yes... There are times range and difficulty identifying who did it is very useful."
