There was a soft knock on Bae's door.

"Jedi Knight Alysele Cortess. Security check up."

[Baesal Zyn]

"Errr, what?" Came from the room as the music fades.

"Enter, its open"

Aly entered the room, giving a nod to its occupant. "I'm part of the security detail of the delegation, and am doing routine check up before we land." She took a long look around the room, finally settling on its occupant. The Sith traitor. Her face was stoic... or at least tried to be.

"I hope you had no issues during the trip?" she offered lamely.

She can’t seem to find the right passage in the sea of data she has but there is notes that Nem’ro the Hutt has a menagerie in his palace where he collects rare specimens across Hutt space. Could be useful.

Baes took a deep breath and closed her computer. She turned to the Jedi and gave a polite smile

"My flight was without problems. Thank you for your concern."

[Alysele Cortess]

"That is good to hear." She frowned, without bulldozing on. "I would like to ask for your help."

[Baesal Zyn]

Well that was new

"Forgot your password on your datapad?"

[Alysele Cortess]

There was a brief, hostile frown as the first response.

She held her datapad while her left hand typed away a bit, before turning it toward the Togruta.

It showed video footage of Layne's rampage on Alderaan.

"Do you know anything about that saber? From what I hear, you're a specialist?"

[Baesal Zyn]

Baes raised an eyebrow

''Wow, bad mood...you did'nt get your coffee yet? The Hutts have a surprisingly good bland called covfefe''

She looked at the image

''That saber? Yeah...I think she called it Terror or Fear....no, Fear was her Shoto...so yeah, that would be Terror'' she shrugged ''Naming things aren't the Sith's forte''

[Alysele Cortess]

"I heard of covfefe, ut never understood what it was." Her brows furrowed . "Sorry, this is important to me. She? You know the wielder?"

[Baesal Zyn]

''Kinda'' she replied ''I crafted her shoto hilt''

She tilted her head, curious

''Why?''

[Alysele Cortess]

She frowned. "She killed someone on my homeworld. I saw the aftermath. It's something of interest to me." She tried to enhance the picture, but it was all grainy. The hilt was barely visible. "Can I ask her name?"

[Baesal Zyn]

''She's called Layne'' she replied tilting her head to the side ''But she should not be your focus if you want to bring light to the situation''

[Alysele Cortess]

"How so?" She asked curiously. Layne. Better remember that.

[Baesal Zyn]

"Because if not her then somebody else would have done it. She is but a cog in a machine'' she explains while looking in the knight's eyes. She continues with a softer tone, remembering her master's words

''I know this touches you on a personnal level...but your judgement is clouded. Think of the whole picture.''

[Alysele Cortess]

A storm came over features, a storm of emotions. "So what... I should give up? Not do anything." She withheld a snalr, just barely. "Killing cogs is what I do. It has been what I have been doing for the last, oh wise Jedi."

She held her datapad, gripping it with anger.

Baesal kept looking at her and asked a simple answer

''How did she get there?''

[Alysele Cortess]

She shrugged. "That is not my concern. She is there, now. She has a choice. You had one. Choices have consequences. Even if you are not the one making your choices."

She gave a sigh

''Please calm down, take a seat'' she motionned to the second chair

''Do you know who she works for?''

[Alysele Cortess]

Aly sat down, her body rigid as she controlled her emotions. Or try to. She didn't say a word, just shook her head.

[Baesal Zyn]

''She is Darth Bara's apprentice'' she explained once her 'guest' sat down

''From what I know, she is mostly used as an attack dog and little else. She is a brute but not an assassin as she is the antithesis of the word subtle.''

Baes took a breath pondering, lightly tapping on her chair on her fingers

''I think she's an okay person deep down but she as a resting bitch face and a resting bitch attitude pretty mutch 24/7. So, the thing is, unless she crashed right trought the ceilling, killed those guys and crashed back upwards to leave the planet...she might not have done this alone. Hell, she might not really be nescessary for those operations: she's good at what she does but little else...and she can be replaced easily as normal assassins probably could do a better job.''

''Do you get what I say?''

''She is Darth Bara's apprentice'' she explained once her 'guest' sat down

"I should be looking into Darth Baras and his dealings, and this Layne person is only a secondary concern." Aly replied with determination... a Darth. Nothing easy to pull off. "Any idea why she could be used? A show of force seems to be the only thing she is good for, yet I don't see much reason for such a show on Alderaan."

[Baesal Zyn]

''I do not know.'' she replies honestly

''She is quite noticable with her distinctive black lightsaber...but I see three options: He wanted to eliminate an enemy, he wanted to pass a message or he wanted to prevent a leak or kill a loose end.''

She scratches her chin

''That's a supposition but Layne is a great enforcer to have if you don't care if things get messy and don't want questions asked. She is expendable and likely very uninterested by the reasons behind her orders''

She shrugs

''But I am sure she received inside help''

[Alysele Cortess]

''I do not know.'' she replies honestly

''She is quite noticable with her distinctive black lightsaber...but I see three options: He wanted to eliminate an enemy, he wanted to pass a message or he wanted to prevent a leak or kill a loose end.''

She scratches her chin

''That's a supposition but Layne is a great enforcer to have if you don't care if things get messy and don't want questions asked. She is expendable and likely very uninterested by the reasons behind her orders''

She shrugs

''But I am sure she received inside help''

Well... that wasn't exactly good news. In her mind, Alderaan was a unified utopia, but deep down, she knew that wasn't the exact case. Unfortunately.

"Mhm.... so she is a disposable hammer.. not to mention, while she's doing her best star destroyer impression, it provides a good distraction for anyone else who might be working for Baras." Not something she liked to hear, but she had limited options at this point. "Thank you Basal."
