He thought about saying he didn't know, but it was unlikely that the Republic would give him so much as a look in on whatever they decided to do - or not do. "Something about unpaid protection fees."

This sounded bad. "Sounds like you've gone and squeezed them out of some business, Cole."

"Do you need a place to stay out of their sight?"

[Cole Ormont]

"Maybe, if their business is letting people die in the streets." A sigh, "the Republic compound should be safe enough," but if I want to help people, I need to double down, not fold.

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"Except they know to find you there. They probably have ways of reaching you there, if they really want to..." she popped the olive from her drink in her mouth. "That is, if you want to cower within the safety of the Republic Compound until they forget about you or pay someone enough to bust in there... depending on how pissed they are, of course."

"What is it you want to do about it?"

Through the opioid haze, he hadn't gotten that far yet. "I see the peace talks through, and then I worry about it."

"I was standing next to the man they shot. They aren't coming to poison my food."

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"Yeah, I doubt you will make it to the end of the peace talks if you don't do anything about this, angel."

She waved to someone outside of view of the holo, holding up her empty glass, before turning back to the comm.

"Now who's assuming?" she smirked. "Hutts don't do subtle. They'll hire some merc with more brawn than brains, or something. Have you told Captain Alderaan yet then?"

[Cole Ormont]

He quietly admired the view of the Sith on his monitor for a few moments. "I hear different. Unless Remmington was being less than forthcoming about his run in with some bad escargot."

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"Remmingtool of a fallen Sith house is a master at poor decisions and a damn idiot," she rolled her eyes. How that buffoon had even passed his training at Korriban was a mystery for all.

"He is also fool with few friends or acquaintances who can help. You, on the other hand, are not so poor in that departement."

[Cole Ormont]

"Add paranoid to that list."

Running a hand through his hair, "if I sound ungrateful, it's only because I know the Empire doesn't offer exchange rates in that currency. I'm sure you'd warn me against transferring my debts from a Hutt to a deviless. Though you're so much kinder on the eyes."

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"Why thank you," she chuckled. "Though, to be fair, I would not offer my help to you if I was not being sincere. You've done me a solid favour, and yes, I know I claimed I repaid it by letting you do the body-scan on me, but in all honesty it was not a fair deal. You did more for me than I did for you."

"So consider it an offer for repaying a debt. And I'll have it off my conscience that I still owe you."

[Cole Ormont]

He decided he'd rather not argue the point, though he brings up her scan data next to her image on the monitor and thinks about strangely intimate it was, to be able to render a perfect fabrication of someone he's barely touched. He doesn't, though.

"As soon as I know what to do with your assistance, I will let you know, deviless."

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"You have such high opinions of me," she pouted.

"Let me know when you've made up your mind, and what you need. And give Captain Alderaan my regards and Jedi Ashla my regards."

[Cole Ormont]

"Pouting doesn't suit you," though it had drawn his attention to her mouth. "On the contrary, I have a very high opinion of you, and your abilities. But I need a plan, first."

[Shaisha Vreysk]

His remark made her smile, her pearly white teeth for a moment showing as they pressed against her lower lip briefly.

"Of course. I admire your tenacity for not letting yourself be cowed into fear by these slugs."

[Cole Ormont]

"There are things more important than credits," he answers with far more bravado than he feels.

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"On that, we are agreed," said the woman sitting in a casino and had just made a decent sum of creds from cheating.

"Anything else you need from me while you got me on the line?"

[Cole Ormont]

"You look stunning tonight, deviless. I won't tell you to stay safe."

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"You flatter me, officer," she chuckled warmly. "Probably wise, but I will tell you to stay safe. Continue to be strong and seize your victory."

And with that, she ended the call.

[Aphr Ahaya]

Nearby, Aphr had decided to have a little fun for once with her Huttball winnings. She didn't cheat, and her smile and natural warm behaviour seemed to be a lucky charm as she came away a winner from her smaller bet.

She moved away from the tables, quite happy with herself. Well this was an improvement on the Jedi drugging...wait is that? she paused, looking over at the dressed up Sith.

"Shaisha?" She called over to the woman.

"Aphr, dear. Good to see you again, in more pleasant surroundings than the Jedis' idea of an educational lunch. How are you?"

She picked up the martini that was brought to her.

[Aphr Ahaya]

"I thought it was you" Aphr said with a smile "it is good to see you, and certainly a lot better than that lunch" she sighed, and shook her head "I had no idea the Jedi were so deceitful..." she pushed it from her mind "other than that I've been...well, busy. Very busy, and learning more than I expected to. Otherwise, I've been well. I hope the same can be said for you? Going by how you look, I would say it's going very well" she really did admire the beautiful Sith.

"Ah that? I'm hardly surprised... the Jedi have a long history of claiming the moral high-ground as they insult and tear down others, to make themselves feel better," she shook her head. "Such an act would most likely have seen the host dead in the Empire."

She smiled graciously at the compliment. "Thank you. It's been... interesting. Though I was impressed with how eloquently you pointed out the mistakes of our host. So it is true what Galen said that you have now come to realise your true potentials?"

[Aphr Ahaya]

"That I don't doubt; the Sith I've met have very much been...quite honest" Aphr commented.

Even if some should keep things to themselves...

There was a bit of a nervous nod though at her comment. "Yeah, I guess so. Well, as much as someone can understand something that takes most people a lifetime in five days" she chuckled a bit "was it obvious then? From when you met me I mean. You always had an...unusual feeling about you, but I didn't know what it was. I guess it was the Force though."

"I was taught to use the Force to sense those around me from early on," she gave a small smile. "So yes, I knew from the moment we met that you were no ordinary little girl, same as Galen, but... my master seemed pleased with the operations of your crew, and it wasn't my business to pry..." Shaisha shrugged.

"There are honest Jedi and honest Sith and honest people in general. Most people, however, are deceitful. Even me," the pureblood gave Aphr a wink. "Lies and honesty are all just tools we use to get through life to get what we want - I could, perhaps, be the cruel Sith everyone expects me to be, but I find that to be... impractical; attract more with honey than with vinegar and all that."

"Surely, you know this?"

[Aphr Ahaya]

"Of course I know this" Aphr nodded "it's a part of my job after all to be approachable and easy to talk to. Plus I enjoy that anyway. However, it's a rather big step to go from deceit to drugging a whole party, is it not? Granted, some others should consider this as well...but there is a limit, no?"

She chuckled.

"Although I think I lost my temper a little."
