Day 4 LE: If a plant lives here, it deserves a medal

Baesal checked her gear from the back of her van

''I think I have everything...everyone is okay?'' she asked the others

[Fredtrey Belestor]

Fredtrey stood in his usual way, straight like a metal bar a couple of paces away from Baes. He was dressed in his new leather accouterments.

"Yes, padawan Zyn, I think I am ready to help you with your quest. Your work with our ship was quite expedient and expertly done. You were also very generous with your pricing, it is an honor to reciprocate by providing whatever aid you need."

[Nunki Malyna]

Nunki sat in the van near Baesal, silent and calm, her lightsaber sitting in her lap instead of on her hip.

"I'm ready when you are."

[Baesal Zyn]

''Allright, you both know what we are searching for?''

She brings her pad up and gets the image of a plant

''We are searching for this specimen but the plant is likely weaker and smaller...we will look at two separate locations and we expect trouble''

[Dapper Dog]

[Fredtrey Belestor]

"I have no real doubts, we surely will be able to intimidate into submission any lowlife thugs that may come our way. For anything more, I am a trained Republic Officer and you are two Jedi padawans."

He turns to Nunki.

"Speaking of that."

He offers an extended hand to her.

"It is a pleasure to make formal presentations to you, young miss, my name is Lieutenant Fredtrey Belestor, I am a Republic military pilot currently assigned to pilot a senator's ship here during the talk. It is always an honor meeting Jedis, I highly respect your dedication and ethics."

Baes smiled she started to believe that Fredtrey was some sort of Republic paragon.

While they exchanged, Baesal focused on the force

''I think I sense something''

The terrain turns from industrial to more dilapidated rusting urban blight as they descend deeper into Nar Shaddaa down ladders and causeways until they find themselves hip deep in sewage water… in a flooded and abandoned region of deep Shadow Town… it is quiet here the sounds of the city are high above and have dulled to a low drone here there was old abandoned structures with fading paint no power and lots of flooded walkways from the rain high above.

Every now and then they see a vagrant eking out a miserable existence in these pits as they trudge through the water.

Nunki smiles, extending her hand to shake the Officer's. "It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Lieutenant. And please, the honor is all mine."

As you move through the muck and water a feeling of calm and peace washes over the trio… and a single beam of light from the levels above shine down into what was probably an apartment courtyard and growing out of a wall is the plant.

Nunki pushed through the water, feeling strong until she saw the light. And in a place like this, the light was eerie.. and freaky... even to somebody usually so mentally disciplined as Nunki.

Baesal looks up at the beam and follows it down to the plant, it was just like her vision

"So, what now?"

There was something profundly unsettling to seeing such a plant in such an environnement. However, he was as stoic as ever, especially since he did not want to be perceived as unprofessional by Jedis.

"What have you found, little Jedi?" both Jedi hear the voice of Zash as she steps from the shadows. "Following my path to power... stealing the secrets of the dark places."

Fredtrey can see nothing but feels a chill in the air.

OOC: Nunki suffers 1 conflict.

[Nunki Malyna]

Nunki stops dead in her tracks, but before she does anything else, she scans the area to see if anybody else was lurking. Eventually, she speaks.

"Good to see you too. Zash."

[Baesal Zyn]

Baesal instinctively raises her shield, looking straight at the Devourer. Unlike the last times, she stand resolute.

''I do not follow your path to what you believe is power, Zash. Do not seek to project yourself on me.''

[Dapper Dog]

"It only makes sense you would become Jedi, far too weak to be a real Sith," Zash says walking to the plant.

"But we do have one thing in common we plunder the old places for power. Snuff out the light for wont of our own power."

[Fredtrey Belestor]

Fredtrey takes a defensive posture, puts a hand on his holster, looks around and seeing nothing, looks a the two Jedi.

"What is happening? Who are you talking to?"

[Baesal Zyn]

At Fredtrey's words, Baesal was'nt sure if the Devourer was there or it was merely an illusion. Still...she would not let it reach the plant.

As Zash walked, Baesal ran to put herself between her and the plant

''I am not plundering anything, we will bring this plant to the surface and cultivate it to ensure its survival.''

She stared at what she knew was a rotting corpse

''You do not understand real strength''

As padawan Zyn ran, Fredtrey decided to follow her, and took position behind her. He guessed this may be over his pay grade, probably some kind of force manifestation, but he was still ready to try and help if he could. He looked intensely where both Jedi were staring, trying to possibly perceive something.

"Then show me," Zash says a crimson lightsaber shifting to her hand and igniting with speed.
