[Dapper Dog]

Daz says, "What, I am not good enough for you?"

[Layne Hoshin]

She sighed. "It's because you refuse to listen. It makes you kind of annoying," she said.

[Dapper Dog]

"Yeah because you listen to people... you know you're kind of a angry rancor like 90% of the time," Daz responds.

[Layne Hoshin]

"The difference is I actually know what the fuck I'm doing," she said, leaving out the 'most of the time' that should probably come at the end of it.

"I have experience. Training. And also I'm not an idiot. When I do something, there's purpose to it." Again, she left out the 'most of the time' part.

[Dapper Dog]

"Really?" he says incredulously.

"You just do whatever your master says, sulk, and look angry all the time. That takes sooooooo much skill."

[Layne Hoshin]

One day she would slap him so hard his teeth would fall out. For now, she just crossed her arms.

"Have *you* fought a Sith, a Jedi Master, or ancient force entities of pure malice? You think you know things, but you don't. You're just a little kid who doesn't know anything yet."

[Dapper Dog]

"And what you know everything?" he says finishing his cereal.

[Layne Hoshin]

"I don't. I just know enough to realize how little I know. Unlike you."

"So teach me stuff, Darth," he says.

[Layne Hoshin]

"I *might* take you on as my apprentice. *If* you can learn some basic self-discipline and refrain from trying to insult me. Do that, and start listening to the things I tell you, and *maybe* I can teach you."

"You insult people," he responds.

"I mean you literally kill people. Like that is your job right?"

[Layne Hoshin]

"People who aren't innocent themselves, yes."

[Dapper Dog]

"All of them?" he asks.

[Layne Hoshin]

"You don't send someone like me to kill regular people."

[Dapper Dog]

"So is that what you are going to teach me, to be like you?" he asks.

[Layne Hoshin]

"I won't send you to kill anyone, if that's what you're concerned about."

Daz nods, "Okay, teach me boss."

[Layne Hoshin]

She sighed, not convinced that Daz was going to be any easier to deal with in the future.

"First, show me the hilt you said you made."

[Dapper Dog]

Daz pulls out the hilt it is a well made standard lightsaber hilt with spike on it and delicate silvery inlay. It does not seem to have any faults in the design.

"What do you think, pretty wiz huh?" he says.

[Layne Hoshin]

She looked it over, taking note of its features. "This'll work... but what's with the spike?"

[Dapper Dog]

"Looking tough and cool and *being* tough and cool are two different things. Something like this'll only get in the way most of the time."

"Are you sure? The spikes are pretty wiz," Daz responds.

[Layne Hoshin]

"Alright then," she said, "show me your stance, and let's see if that spike gets in the way or not."

"My stance?" the kid replies. "Yeah my stance... you want to see my fighting skills." He takes up a stance that shows he knows nothing about fighting besides what he may have seen a holo vid...
