Wandering the Streets (D7 EE)

[Layne Hoshin]

"This food stand? No."

I hope that isn't a line.

[Yslane Tssilla]

"I mean Nar Shadda." She chuckled, "I assumed you were new to the food stand."

[Layne Hoshin]

"No," she answered quite simply.

She'd been here a few months prior to the peacetalk... leaving death in her wake. And then years prior to that, on numerous occasions.

[Yslane Tssilla]

"Ahh...my first time here." She smiled, "It's been an.... experience."

[Layne Hoshin]

"There's worse places," she said; in between chewing; "but not many with this many people."

[Yslane Tssilla]

"Oh?" Yslane looked back at the Sith, trying to gauge her age. "You seem fairly young to be an experienced traveller."

[Layne Hoshin]

Layne was only 16 years old. And looked the part.

"And yet I am."

[Yslane Tssilla]

"I see," She took another few bites, "I suppose things are different for the Sith."

[Layne Hoshin]

"I wasn't always a Sith," she said.

[Yslane Tssilla]

"A young Force sensitive born in Imperial space?" Yslane asks, cradling the remainder of her food.

[Layne Hoshin]

"Outer Rim," she said.

[Yslane Tssilla]

"Conquered?" She presses further....

[Galen Sol]

After yet another gizka hunt, Galen dropped off a package to the food stand and was given a fresh sandwich in exchange. Sitting down, he began to eat his dinner.

Yslane nodded to Galen, having met him officially earlier today.

[Galen Sol]

He nodded in return, but remained at a distance, seeing that she was in conversation.

[Layne Hoshin]

She sighed. What was it with random strangers being nosy? She debated simply not answering; but enjoyed the thought that perhaps the truth would shock the woman.

"No. Slaver's pet. Then sold to the imperial mining operation on Kessel."

[Yslane Tssilla]

Yslane frowned, "An unfortunately all to common beginning. Or more common then it should be." She took another bite, "So the Sith realized you were Force Sensitive and adopted you into their ranks?"

[Layne Hoshin]

Layne frowned. That was not the reaction she'd hoped for.

"One of them recognized what I was. Tried to make me his apprentice despite not having permission. But he was an abusive asshole, so I killed him. *That's* when they sent me to the academy."

[Yslane Tssilla]

"Life has treated you poorly," She remarked, "And now you serve another Sith Master."

[Layne Hoshin]

"Yeah," she narrowed her eyes, "what about it?"

[Yslane Tssilla]

Yslane shrugs, "I suppose it is a bit of an obvious statement....or assumption as it were." She finishes her meal, "Given your reaction I take it you are not on the best of terms...granted that is normal from my understanding of the Sith ways. Apprentice rises to the Master's position. Seems a bit wasteful to me."

She smiles, "My own training in the Force wasn't so...antagonistic as that, but its one of the differences between our two philosophies."

[Layne Hoshin]

She shrugged. "I have no philosophy."

Powerful thoughts flowed through her; driven by the urge to get the fuck out of the empire and sith; all buckling under the weight of uncertainty and the knowledge that it seemed far easier than it was.

[Yslane Tssilla]

"Says many a student," Yslane shrugs, "But the nature of interacting with the Force leads to inevitable questions of a philosophical nature, the ethics of power. You may not actively think them but they are there. Shaping your mind."

"But I will take your comment as a disinterest in such talk. Not that I am more then a pupil myself and hardly an expert."

Yslane rubs the back of her neck, "Well maybe one question that can be seen as philosophical.....why are you here?"

[Layne Hoshin]

"I go where I'm told to go," she said simply.

Which was about as precise an answer as could be expected, as surely it wasn't likely that she was going to share the intricate details of her master's purpose here. It also left an unpleasant taste in her mouth that couldn't be traced back to the mystery meat.

[Yslane Tssilla]

"A soldier's response." Yslane shrugs, "And a literal interpretation of my question. I suppose both were expected given the nature of our conversation."

"I usually expected the Sith to be more...independent though."
