[Aphr Ahaya]

"What do you advise I do in this situation? I don't know the force, I...I didn't know I even had a connection before yesterday" she took a bigger sip of the drink, wishing it was alcoholic at this point

[Nekoinu]

"My advice is to meditate and become attuned to the Force. You may do so on your own or you may find a teacher. Perhaps then your dreams will become clearer. Or perhaps you shall acquire some other ability."

[Aphr Ahaya]

"Meditate?" Aphr wasn't sure what to think about that "so sit and contemplate? Not sure I get time to do that" she laughed

[Nekoinu]

"You will find time if you wish to," she countered with a light smile. "The purpose is to strengthen your awareness. You have a connection to the Force that is untrained."

[Aphr Ahaya]

"You find time to with all your duties as a Jedi?" Aphr asked, curious "I guess you must do if you came to find me. So, what is the life of a Jedi like?"

[Nekoinu]

"I consider this to be a part of my duties as a Jedi," she added with a smile. She took another small sip from her drink. And then another. "That question is not easily answered. Not every Jedi is the same, Aphr."

[Aphr Ahaya]

"But there are parts of the Jedi life that are shared? Or are you all individuals that walk many different paths along the same route?" Aphr sips her drink "if they are all so unique, then what makes a Jedi a Jedi?"

[Nekoinu]

"Would you claim that every Nar Shaddaa resident is the same? Would you say the same of the Sith?" she asked calmly. "Groups share many similarities but their members are distinct enough." A pause. "The common path to follow for a Jedi is youngling, then padawan, then knight, then master."

[Aphr Ahaya]

A frown.

"Then what makes someone become a Jedi. Instead of a Sith, or neutral?"

[Nekoinu]

"Jedi, Sith, and other Force traditions follow their own tenants. Do you know the Jedi Code?"

[Aphr Ahaya]

She shook her head. "Never heard of it."

[Nekoinu]

The Jedi Master proceeded to recite the Jedi Code to the young twi'lek. She paused between each line in hopes that it would resonate with Aphr.

"There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no chaos, there is harmony.
There is no death, there is the Force."

Lyshea sat in silence afterwards with the same, serene smile on her face.

[Aphr Ahaya]

There was a blink, and a bit of confusion.

"That's...your code? And you live by that, every day of your life?"

[Nekoinu]

Lyshea nodded. "That is the idea. I strive to follow its tenants. Others may stray, willingly or not."

[Aphr Ahaya]

"No emotion, no passion" she frowned more "no death? Jedi really do live charmed lives if you never have to experience any of that."

She shook her head.

"You'll find all of those things and more here. I don't even know how you can operate without emotion. Sounds like a strange notion."

[Nekoinu]

"The Jedi Code can take a lifetime to master. Many in the Order never master it before they become one with the Force."

[Aphr Ahaya]

"Why would you want to master it though? To remove emotion from your life? Or passion?"

[Nekoinu]

"Emotion and passion may cloud judgment. Anger may drive one to choose violence when it is not necessary. Even love may turn to obsession."

[Aphr Ahaya]

"Hmm..." Aphr nodded thoughtfully. That kind of made sense actually. "However, without attachment to what you are doing, you have no reason or feeling towards the importance of it, no? Is a rigorous following of the code to the point of detaching all emotions not an obsession in itself?"

She held her hands up.

"I don't mean to question you or your code, but from an outsider looking in I struggle to see how one can follow a code that tells them to have no attachment to anything outside the code."

[Nekoinu]

"I find wisdom in the code. Perhaps you are right on rigorous following. That is why some Jedi allow themselves to be flexible. I imagine you understand that that includes its own problems."

Lyshea smiled. "I am not offended. I do have attachments, Aphr. It is my duty to not let them cloud my judgment."

[Aphr Ahaya]

"So the code for you is more...a guideline to how Jedi should act?" Aphr asked

[Nekoinu]

"A guideline which I follow to the best of my abilities." A pause. "I do not allow myself to obsess over the phrases. I follow its teachings and I do not allow myself to punish myself for failing to enact a tenant."

[Aphr Ahaya]

"I see" Aphr nodded, a smile "thank you Lyshea. I have much to contemplate about my future. What of yourself though? What does the future of Lyshea hold? Peace talks?"

[Nekoinu]

"My future is uncertain," Lyshea said, though the smile remained on her lips. "I may come in conflict with others present on Nar Shaddaa. If that is the case, then I will be ready to face them."

[Aphr Ahaya]

"No visions of your own future then?" Aphr frowned "does the force only show you the fate of others?"
