Day 3 EM: Leaves in the wind

Baesal had asked for Master Thun's help to help find the plant but it was still early. She figured she had the time to figure out where on Nar Shaddaa this plant might have grown when the Smuggler's Moon was Lush.

Her body was still aching from the day before but with R5's help, she thought she had found something.

She found a place, best access point would be in Shadow Town in an area not well trafficked by anyone reputable. Where the downtrodden go when they have no place else. She has a good idea of how to get their on paper but who knows what dangers actually lurk there.

Resmi approaches and says, "Hard at work, Baesal?"

''Ah! Yes Master Thun! Trying to find a place where a plant might have grown in Nar Shaddaa's lush days take quite the effort''

She rose to greet the master

''It is not too early I hope?''

[Dapper Dog]

"Never too early, dearie. Have you had success in your little adventure?" she asks as she starts tending to her plants.

"I really do enjoy the Enclave being so busy, so filled with life."

[Baesal Zyn]

"I am making progress on some areas thanks to your help" she admited

"But I might need some more..." She turned to the potted plant "I am trying to seek a possible location for this plant in the bowels of Naar Shaddaa through extrapolation and the use of the force."

She returns to Master Thun

"But I'll need tout assistance for the latter as I have not mastered the technique"

[Dapper Dog]

“I think we will need each other Baesal. The Sith see power as a singular thing but true strength is sharing the load. The power of the group is always greater than the power of the individual. Now have a seat dearie, join your Force with mine,” she says taking a seat under an old gnarled but greening tree.

"Focus... see through the darkness."

Baesal listens to the master's words and sat under the tree beside her. She closed her eyes and focused.

Together they can reach out with the force and can see the life on Nar Shadda, it shines brightly like a beacon and then she feels herself fall away and can see moments, a child being born… a knife fight… someone hitting it big at a slot machine… a beggar giving their last cred to a criminal.

She feels Thun guide her and they descend deeper into the light until they find a precarious little plant growing in the near darkness, some light breaking through a ceiling and a dribble of water but it is enough for the plant to survive.

Then she snaps back and Resmi says, “Well done Baesal.”

OOC: You know where to go by instinct as if maybe destiny is driving you there, but there is dread as well.

''Thank you master Thun. I do not know where this plant will lead us but its is a start''

She took a deep breath

''But I will need to be prepared for danger''

“I felt it, be mindful. The danger may not be in the journey… it may be in those we trust,” she says honestly.

''I know...I think'' she says, looking down

[Dapper Dog]

“It is uncertain what will be. One can fall, Baesal. But one can also stand as well,” she adds.

“The only true ending is when one returns to the Force.”

She smirks

''You have an interesting way of saying that the only certainty is death''

She then tilts her head

''Would building a body for an ancient Rakatan A.I be a good thing?...Hypothetically speaking of course''

“I am old, I know it may surprise you but the older one gets the more certain death becomes. It is certain and that certainty breeds fear. I have accepted that my time will come, and when it does it will usher a new journey for me. Just as it will for you. As it does for all things that live, it is this fleeting nature that makes what we do now and who we share that time with precious,” she says warmly.

“It is the regrets, the scars, the moments of triumph and relationships we build that matter. Each of these a connection through the Force but also a connection to the greater galaxy. Death is a certainty but so is life, if that were not true none of us would be here,” she says with a smile.

She then tilts her head

''Would building a body for an ancient Rakatan A.I be a good thing?...Hypothetically speaking of course''

“It sounds likes trouble to me, but then again trouble can breed new opportunities and new challenges. What do you know about this Rakata artificial intelligence?”

''Not much aside the it is called Hydra and does not want to reveal much'' she frowns ''It said the destabilizing the ''Infinite Empire'' ,as we called it, was its goal''

''It is also possible that it read my mind at some point''

“Well that seems like a bad sign right there,” Resmi says with a shake of her head.

[Baesal Zyn]

''Yup'' she agrees

''But it reacts to the Force...I *might* have used the dark side since Rakatan tech uses it. I should try it with the light side''

[Dapper Dog]

“Might or you did, lying to yourself does not help anyone, Baesal,” the old Master chides.

[Baesal Zyn]

''Okay, yes, I did'' she let out a sigh ''I'm not planning on relying on it, however.''

She closes her eyes

''I know where it lead and I will not walk that path''

[Dapper Dog]

“Good but remember that life is more complicated than simply good and evil. The dark side exists because it is a natural expression of the galaxy. We all must learn to live with the darkness. Ignoring it is not healthy. Embracing it equally unhealthy. Knowing that it is there that we all teeter between the light and dark, that is the way forward. The Force is not a crutch it should not be your first response to all things.”

“That is like using a hammer to read a book just because you like hammering things. Every tool has a time and place even the dark,” Resmi says putting a comforting hand on her shoulder.

“But recognize when you channel the dark, own that moment of decision. It is a part of you.”

''I agree'' she bit her lower lip

''That is why I don't advance my Force techniques much. I want to sharpen my skills before using the Force to help me in those endeavors.''

She frowns

''Are there any 'Grey' force traditions?''

“I assume you mean traditions that don’t adhere to an idea that one side is superior to another. Yes even among the Jedi there are some that try to walk the middle path. Most traditions outside of the Jedi and Sith are what you would call Grey. Though such traditions tend to have limited expressions of the Force… sometimes unique but often just focusing on say powers of prescience for example to the exclusion of all others,” Master Resmi explains.

“I simply live as the Force guides me. It calls me to aid others and I do so, because it makes life better for others.”

''Interesting...well...I'll have to try the Rakatan A.I with the Light Side. Maybe it will be in better mood''

“Let me know so I can be elsewhere in case it explodes in your face, little one,” she says with a shake of her head.

“You have my full confidence otherwise.”
