“Well I commend your aid for the down trodden, keep it up and it might become a habit,” he says calmly.

It frustrated her, not getting a good read on him... or rather, not being able to easily spot a lie or ulterior motive for saying these types of things. How could he be so genuine in those words? To his enemy?

"Whatever," she offered up as a brilliant retort, before curiosity got the better of her. "Since we're having a civil conversation here, maybe you could answer some questions."

"As a Jedi I will do my best to answer them, Layne," he responds calmly.

[Layne Hoshin]

"You ever hear of a wound in the force?"

[Dapper Dog]

“I have read of such things they are not common, but exist. Sometimes they exist in a person other times occur naturally due to the flow of the Force,” he responds while picking up a droid hand and looking at it.

"Do you know how common the knowledge to heal them is?"

[Dapper Dog]

"Do you know how common the knowledge to heal them is?"

"Not very common, few even understand what they are," he says.

[Layne Hoshin]

"I have healed two," she said, bragging about it almost. "How many jedi can say the same huh?"

[Dapper Dog]

“I didn’t know it was a competition. Many Jedi cannot claim such but such things are rare but they can claim to help others in need, doing their part to alleviate suffering in the galaxy. How many Sith can make that claim with honesty? Not many I would say,” he responds.

[Layne Hoshin]

Again, not the response she had hoped for. And it frustrated her. And her own behavior did as well. Everything just did, really.

"And what, that's supposed to make them feel bad about themselves? The Sith cause suffering, but at least they're honest about it. At least they don't pretend they're something they're not."

[Dapper Dog]

“Jedi are simply Jedi, we do not claim to be more than we are. We do not seek personal aggrandizement, or we shouldn’t though it has happened. We seek to better society and aid others. We strive to be selfless, we set a high bar for what a Jedi is and few achieve that bar. To be a Jedi is to strive to be a better person with each coming day and knowing that failure is natural as long as give our all,” he says putting the droid part down.

“We do not seek to dominate or rule, simply to be.”

[Layne Hoshin]

"So failure just gets washed away. You all conveniently get to forget that if it wasn't for the Jedi, there would be no Sith?"

[Dapper Dog]

“Failure is never washed away, Layne. It sticks with us until the day we return to the Force,” he counters.

“And yes we had a role in the creation of the Sith but greater still was the actions of those that decided their path of selfish devotion and evil was the better path. We all must decide for ourselves how to live. Jedi or Sith.”

[Layne Hoshin]

"Those people *were* Jedi. Was what they did really so evil they had to be cast out? If the Jedi hadn't done that. If they hadn't been so strict in the first place... there might not even have been any Sith."

[Dapper Dog]

"Mistakes were made then, no group is perfect," he accepts with a nod.

[Layne Hoshin]

"But if it happened today, would you make the same mistakes all over again? Or would you just dismiss them as evil again?"

[Dapper Dog]

“I would like to think we would learn, but if history is any guide, I cannot know for certain. How would the Sith react if a group suddenly turned against them and their ways,” he counters.

[Layne Hoshin]

"The Sith aren't the ones claiming to be the good guys," she retorted.

[Dapper Dog]

Master Karr nods quietly and says nothing in reply. He didn’t have a response to propaganda and instead looks at the offerings of the Jawa peddlers. Finally after a lengthy pause he says, “I wonder what the Jawas think of all this, they live in this galaxy and the affairs of the Sith and Jedi affect them all the same.”

"Good for business," she looked down at one of the Jawa peddlers, "is my guess."

[Dapper Dog]

“As a Jedi I would enjoy an end to the hostilities and the conflict and find a path forward without violence. My understanding of the Sith and their Code, I know it could be a possibility if they could see past their own selfish desires and ambitions. One can gain power without crushing others under foot,” he responds calmly.

[Layne Hoshin]

"That may be so," she said. And was in actual agreement. "But you would never let the average sith get away with their crimes."

[Dapper Dog]

“We have had Sith join the Jedi before, many have served honorably for years,” he replies.

“There would be much counseling, but redemption is not beyond any Sith.”

[Layne Hoshin]

"Even someone like Baras?"

Her skepticism was readily apparent.

[Dapper Dog]

He chuckles and says, “I doubt Baras would turn to the Light, but if he did I would be the first to welcome him and guide him to a better future. It would be like old times.”

“The future is uncertain but I doubt we would see that day.”
