"Even Revan was given a second chance, we can do no less for others."

She chuckled, uncertain.

"I have never seen much mercy that wasn't just a guise for something else."

“You don’t know the Jedi as well as you think you do. We do not strive to make people suffer, we strive to bring justice and balance. Punishment is never our goal, only setting things to right. We don’t seek vengeance, maybe that is where differ Layne,” he responds.

"Bullshit. When you get down to it, people are vicious and selfish."

She sounded like she was trying to convince herself more than Karr. It was what she had always believed. What she had always experienced. What she knew to be 'true'. But the serenity brought by the light side; however brief it had been; just called it all into question.

"Wealth and power and all those things, just let people pretend otherwise. But some of us don't have that luxury."

"Well I am not rich or powerful, just a Jedi master and that hardly counts most days. I am not here to screw you over Layne, not intentionally. I cannot speak for every Jedi but for myself I try to do good and help others and I believe in that cause. I have seen and experienced the darkness and the alternative, it leads to a lonely place," he says honestly.

"Darth Baras has power but he has nothing else but his power and his schemes."

He departs unless stopped.

She watched him leave, thoughts and emotions swirling heavily inside of her, and then turned back to the Jawa to collect her purchases.
