With Bated Breath (Day 4 LE The Silver Leaf)

[Arsele Girard]

"What? You mean you haven't had anything toast-worthy happen to you lately?"

It was hard to totally relax in such a pristine dress... but at least Arsele had some practice. And the seat was comfortable... especially compared to most lower city dives.

[Zanebry Varliss]

"You know, now that you mention it there has been a few..." He looked into her eyes his lips curling into a playful smile. "Some good days out gambling, a few business deals going my way. You know things of that nature."

The wine arrived and their glasses were filled with the luscious red liquid. Raising It into the air he held there for a moment. "Should I lead then?"

[Arsele Girard]

Arsele held up her own half filled glass, "Well, since you seem to have thought of some things, I have no reason not to let you."

[Zanebry Varliss]

He looked her in the eyes his lips curling into a slender to smile. "To you Arsele, and all your kindness, you do more for me then this scruffy piano player deserves." With that Zan brought his glass forward, to clink against hers before bringing it to his lips.

[Arsele Girard]

Zanebry Varliss saw something he had never seen before; Arsele Girard blushing. Well, at least a teeny bit.

Glasses clinked together and she sipped the wine quietly.

[Zanebry Varliss]

He watched her for a moment softly smiling, before letting the moment come to a end. It was one he'd be certain to remember.

Letting his glass drift down to the table he turned his eyes to the liquid within got a moment, before looking once again towards his date. "Would you like dinner first? Or dancing? Or maybe there is something you wish to say with a toast?"

[Arsele Girard]

Her voice kind of mumbles a little bit, "Well... after a toast like that, my toast about coming into a good bit of credits seems kind of shallow..."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Not at all, credits are important, to the both of us." He offered a smile, and lifted his glass. "Perhaps another toast, to our shared good fortune? It's seems lady luck is smiling on us both."

[Arsele Girard]

"Mmm, fair enough; To good fortune then."

She offered a smile once more before downing some more wine; It was a good vintage indeed.

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Good fortune." His own cups moved to his lips and he took a small swallow. "Its good to hear things are looking good for you. I admit to being a bit worried with how you were talking back on your ship."

Menus were brought over so the pair could start making meal selections at their leisure. Picking his up Z started to browse as he waited for her answer.

[Arsele Girard]

"The budget was a bit tight for a bit there, yeah. But fortunately, since getting back, my account balance has gone up by twenty-five hundred percent."

She gave a cheeky grin at the word play there.

[Zanebry Varliss]

"I'm glad to hear... " He gestured around him. "As you can tell, my fortunes had also been on the rise."

"Though it seems like it might even out here soon. One of my business ventures seems like it will be coming to a end." He paused, his tone turning a bit serious. "On that note though, I might suggest you stop playing for the Valkyries."

[Arsele Girard]

"The little incident?"

Actually mentioning the Hutts seemed unnecessary.

"...I suppose that depends on the longer nature of it. But you know me; I usually avoid making enemies in high places."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"So you've heard then?" That was a relief.

"I try to do the same, it's why I'm backing out. Just seems safer, I can't play the piano with a broken leg after all," He smirked, perhaps in a effort to laugh it all off. "Anyways, there are plenty of other ways to make money."

[Arsele Girard]

"Of course I've heard; The message arrived before the game we had tonight."

She gives a small sigh.

"But yeah... I kind of value my body being in ne pristine piece too."

[Zanebry Varliss]

He smiled his eyes looking over her for a moment. "I do believe pristine is a good word for it too." His obvious flirting was something he used to change the tone of the conversation, they were here to enjoy themselves after all.

"Have you had a chance to look at the menu though? I have no idea whats good here, but i imagine just about everything."

[Arsele Girard]

"It's definitely different cuisine than what I'm used to, just looking it over; Seems like they want fresh ingredients, so it's a pretty eclectic mix. Either that or the chef is a savant beyond my understanding; Womp rat gizzards on pickled nal weed and sauteed bleets?"

[Zanebry Varliss]

Zane snorted, having to repress a laugh. "I think I am going to have to go with savant, because for the life of me I can't figure out how that's supposed to be appetizing." His eyes wandered the menu a small frown making it's way onto his features. "Don't they have anything normal?'

[Arsele Girard]

"Zanebry, my dear man; Luxury isn't normal. People come to places like this to be served small portions of abnormal things, artfully presented. That said..."

Arsele had been looking around as well, "They do have bantha steak; If you don't mind it served blue. I think I'll just have the bunien soup with a side salad myself."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"I believe I'm going to have to work on my expectations of Luxury then." He murmured softly, looking over the menu once again. "Maybe I'll go with that womp rat thing after all, It can't be the worst thing I've ate, I've had navy food after all."

His decision made he smiled at Arsele. "The Bantha steak certainly sounded nice though."

[Arsele Girard]

"I'm sure it's fine; May not be what you're used to, but I'm sure it's impeccably made. But you know me; Not much of a red meat eater."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Did you think I would ever forget Arsele?" He asked half teasingly as he beckoned the waiter over to place their orders.

Leaning back in his chair he watched her for a few moments. "Which is why I hope my presents will be up to your standards."

"Were you wanting to see them now, or after dinner."

[Arsele Girard]

"Why not, while we wait?"

She saw a box sticking out of a bag next to Zane's chair.

[Zanebry Varliss]

It was not one bit two boxes that appeared out of the bag, one large, the other much smaller. The dress he promised and perhaps an accessory. There was no paper holding them closed, just a simple bow, for less effort and mess.

"In whichever order you prefer Arsele."

[Arsele Girard]

Arsele decided to start with the larger box, undoing the ribbon carefully. Opening it, she picked up the dress by its straps, not fully pulling it out thanks to its length.

"What a beautiful colour~ And the material is exquisite..." she said as she looked it over happily.
