Niall's lips twitched, and he waved a hand. "Nevertheless. Do your best."

He started to rise, but stopped, remaining seated. "Ah..." His lips parted for a moment, then closed. Shaking his head, he finally began. "This is in no way a request, official or unofficial. But I'll be composing the letter to Private Finama's family later. If there's anything you wanted me to put in, I'd be happy to do so. Although again, there's no obligation."

[Cole Ormont]

Cole takes off his jacket, tossing it carelessly to one side of the bed, and grunts as he shifts, trying to get more comfortable. Ah, screw Ashla and the Captain's modesty, shouldn't have bothered with the pants.

"I've already put in my contact to Private Finama's family. As the highest ranking officer present when he died, it was my duty." He shouldn't have been there, Cole thinks angrily.

[Niall Organa]

Well, at least Cole got to see more of a reaction from Niall than ever before.

Niall rose to his feet, his lips tight. "No, it wasn't, Cole! I was Private Finama's commanding officer. I was the one who's orders he was following. This sort of thing isn't determined by proximity, for goodness' sake." He paused, pinching the bridge of his nose as he regained control.

[Cole Ormont]

Cole's expression hardened, nostrils flaring, "the letter is with my Captain, so you can take it up with him. I'm sure he'll see it your way," he hisses coldly, he might have been following your orders, but it was me that got him killed.

"Now with all due respect, I think you both need to get the hell out." Mentally, he's calculating how close he's pushed the painkillers to the L50 dose, and whether it would be safer to throw alcohol in the mix, or just sedate himself.

[Niall Organa]

Niall's lips parted, and then shut again. He nodded. "Okay. Fair enough."

He offered Cole a wan smile. "I hope you feel better, Cole. And... I expect that you're probably thinking that this was your fault. It's not, really. I'd order you to forgive yourself, but I know exactly how much good that would do." With a sigh, he moved back towards the door.

Ashla looks at Cole. "Before I leave, what have you been taking and how much?"

[Cole Ormont]

He waves Ashla towards the displays on his desk, where his medical charts are still on display. "Hydromorphinone, 8mg an hour. It's barely touching the pain."

Ashla goes over and looks. "You've been self dosing?" She does not approve.

[Cole Ormont]

"What? I should just sit around in pain?" he snaps. "I didn't train as a surgeon for seven years to not know a thing or two about pain management."

[Ashla Vyliis]

"You could have called me or go to one of the local doctors. You should know better." Ashla sighs. "I'll take over." Ashla pulls out her medical scanner and goes over to take Cole's blood.

[Cole Ormont]

"I know more than you and all the local doctors put together," he stated, flatly. There was no pride or boasting, just a statement of fact as he believes it. "Everything is right there on file: exact dosages and when they were administered."

[Ashla Vyliis]

"Yeah. Probably, but we're not doped up on pain killers. Don't let your damn pride get in the way. Let me take a reading."

[Cole Ormont]

"I'm not stopping you."

[Niall Organa]

Niall left, allowing the two doctors to talk about doctory things by themselves. The door slid shut behind him.

[Ashla Vyliis]

Ashla takes his blood and studies the results. "You've had enough tonight. I'll be administering you something in the morning. You will not be dosing yourself anymore."

Between the pain in his leg, his anger over the shelter, and his annoyance at Captain Alderaan, he has no energy left to argue. "Just as long as you don't leave me in the care of the so-called medics on this moon."

[Ashla Vyliis]

Ashla gives a comforting smile. "I told you before, I would never let you in somebody else's care."

[Cole Ormont]

"Right, so are you going to stay all night, listening to me breathing, or are you going to let me sleep?" he jokes weakly.

[Ashla Vyliis]

"Heh. I'll you sleep. I got the children to look after and make sure little Jeebu gets to bed." Ashla turns and leaves waving as she exits. "See ya."

[Cole Ormont]

"Woah, wait up!" Obviously she's already gone, and probably pretty satisfied at that parting shot. "Skrogging witch," he mutters, and clumsily gets ready for bed.
