Description: Evangeline Ulter's speeder has been sent hurling down into the streets. Initial reports show that she is still alive from the attack but that may not last for long. Though the crowds are mainly dispersing from the wreck, some are pulling out their blaster pistols and ready to finish her off.

Rules: This is a combat encounter. Please roll Vigilance for initiative when you first post in this thread.

Rewards/Outcome: Scrutiny will be restored if Evangeline survives the encounter. Monetary rewards or otherwise will be decided based on interaction.

It wasn't hard to be around Evageline when he was keeping an eye on her, and that was more important now then ever. Especially after last night occurrences. As the speeder fell from the sky zane rushed forward ready to help, blaster in hand and a few grenades hid in his coat.

There he was just walking down the street when all of a sudden the shooting began. Grabbing his twinblade the big Sith ran towards the scene of the incident. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed what might have been the greatest hat he had ever seen, but there was no time for that now.

Jo'ren might not know Zane. but the Gambler certainly knew him. Leaving the closest group to the sith lord he stepped forward ducking behind a nearby vehicle as he fired at the second group that moved forward.

Jo'ren looked at his unlikely allies. "I got this. Cover me." Sprinting forwards he roared with rage and leapt into the midst of the closest group of assailants. His twinblade spun violently, dealing massive damage.

Use Triumph to distract the enemies and prevent them from targeting Evangeline for the rest of the encounter (Nekoinu approved)

Zane took aim, firing another round of bullets at the group of mean he had been aiming at, it seemed to do little though except keep them on their toes.

Shootign at the mobs in group two, using a maneuver for aim: 3eP+1eB+1eD+2eS 0 successes, 4 advantage
((1 advantage to recover strain, 1 advantage to boost next player, 2 advantage 2 boost joren.) Still he wouldn't stay where he was and as the men focused on the Sith, he pushed forwards towards Evangeline's vehicle.

One of the blaster bolts caught him a glancing blow, the other was simply reflected away with his saber (Reflect activated vs second hit for 3 strain). He smiled fiercely and moved in to attack the group that had dared to wound him. "Time to die!". He roared.

It was decisive, they did not last long in the face of his onslaught. Limbs went flying and he quickly pressed his advantage to charge into the next group of enemies.

Easily reflecting one of the blaster bolts it was the second that knocked his weapon from his hands. That was just annoying. Grabbing it he leapt back into the group of enemies and began to cut them down with brutal efficiency.

Jo'ren managed to cut down most but not all of those in front of him while Zanebry's shot took out one of the others. His saber left the last one reeling but not completely out.

"I die... for the cause."

The insurgent triggered his explosive, killing himself instantly and capturing the Sith in the blast! In the meantime, the other survivors returned fire at Zanebry.

The Base Damage is 6 with Breach 1. To reduce this Jo'ren may make a Resilience (Brawn) at Hard Difficulty or Coordination (Agility) at Average Difficulty. In both cases, one die is upgraded. Success/Threat subtracts/adds wounds dealt. A Despair results in a Critical Injury. I'll add a Setback unless Jo'ren had been paying attention to the fact that they use such tactics.

Well that was a tactic he hadn't been expecting. As the explosion went off in his face Jo'ren managed to dodge some of the blast. It wasn't pleasant but he had at least avoided serious injury.

With only a few stragglers left he took a stim pack and activated his force defenses. Looking back at Galen he pointed at the remaining terrorist.

"That one's yours."

The battle appeared to be over but Jo'ren kept his senses prepared for further attack as he ran over to the crashed speeder. He nodded to the others.
