Seeing Red (Day 3 Early Evening)

[Moyr Ahaya]

She left the glass at the seat too. "I could use another set of strong elbows amid the departing crowd." She smriked. "And some quality small talk." She nodded to Hala. "Goodbye, madam."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"It waa a pleasure to make your acquaintance Hala." He offered the older woman a tip of his hat, before moving beside Darwi so she could take his arm. "Then I'll be here to provide both." He said with a smirk. "These exit crowd can be rather rough at the best of times. Left over excitement from the game I suppose."

[Moyr Ahaya]

She accepted his arm. "That was my assumption. I can handle myself, just wouldn't want this date to evolve into anything but at the end. For some reason many tend to assume that women of my species are meant to be groped and exist solely for the purpose of satiating wet fantasies." She pouted slightly, looking around.

[Col. Hala Moraal]

"A pleasure to meet you both," she answered in kind, lifting her left arm to give a friendly gesture.

"I think I'll wait for crowds to thin a bit before I get up, so have a lovely evening."

"Sadly there is truth to that, ive seen it happen enough times to attest to it. Even had to get physical a few times with men who got too handsy with friends of mine." That sort of thing was bound to happen when you were in his line of work.

"You too Hala." He called to the older woman before disappearingbup the steps with his date.

"So I guess I am not the first Twi'lek friend of yours then. I guess I shouldn't be surprised." She mused, moving through the exiting crowd. "Care to share your impressions about my kin then, as they seem to run counter to the opinions of those other men you've opposed?" She was pouting slightly.

[Zanebry Varliss]

"I am a entertainer on Nar Shaddaa after all, you can't be one here without making your way through more then a handful of bars."

"I must admit it doesn't run completely counter to those men I've opposed. I find you and your kin to be beautiful, much more so then many other species. Where I don't agree is that you are meant to be groped and exist to satisfy a man's wet fantasies. No woman exists for that."

"Bars with skimpily dressed Twi'lek slave dancers, I assume? I wonder what would all the admirers of my race do, those noble and those ignoble, if the Hutt monopoly in extracting young girls from Ryloth for those purposes was suddenly no more." She tapped her chin in thought, giving a discreet but painful elbow to a queueing guy to her side who started to stare in her cleavage. "Visual delicacies would be in short supply. Not just Lethans like me, which are rare by definition, but also Rutians." She smirked, glancing at him. "I bet I am probably the first free Lethan you know."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Some, but not all of them." He listens to her as they move, casually stomping on the foot of another man giving her too much attention as they passed. "Honestly? I think they would just find someone else to exploit. As sad as I am to say that, it just seems to be the way of thing out here."

There would never be a shortage of women willing to show themselves for money, or at least so he thought. He didnt mentione that though. "You are the first Lethan I've met." He replied as he returned her smile. "So it seems you'll have a first of mine in at least that way."

[Moyr Ahaya]

"Then I suppose the best a girl like me can do is to ensure that I am not the one to get the short end. Exploitation will never end, just the exploited can be shuffled." She sighed, but then found her smile again. "I don't know how I should feel about this 'at least that way'." She chuckled into her fist pressed against her lips. "I haven't seen another Lethan either, to be fair. I suppose I could find some on Ryloth but there is no reason for me to ever return to that hellhole... Where are you from, Zane?"

[Zanebry Varliss]

He offered her hand on his arm a reassuring pat, though she likely didn't need it. "That's all most of us can do." His lips spread into a grin and his tone turned teasing. "You seemed to be a tad disappointed you weren't my first twi'lek friend, I just wanted to offer some sort of consolation."

"Me? I was born on one of the Core worlds. A planet by the name of Beaufrey VI, honestly I'd be surprised if you ever heard of it. Now days though? I think of myself as from here as much as anywhere."

[Moyr Ahaya]

"Disappointed? I don't think its a right word for it. I am simply trying to discern what kind of a man you are." She smiled placing her hand over his, lingering in touch for a brief moment, before taking it away. "You're right, I haven't heard about it. I wonder what has brought you this far rimward from your homeworld. It's quite a statement to be born at the Core and consider Nar Shaddaa home." She waved toward the skies. "Unless you mean it in cosmopolitan sense, considering yourself a citizen of the whole galaxy."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Well after I retired, I just kind of left, there wasn't much for me back home, so little reason to stay." He paused thoughtfully. "I'd been out here before, the rim worlds, and I had always kind of liked it. Something about the people maybe?" Zane shoved an elbow into the gut of a man who seemed to be paying too much attention to his date. "Sure there is a lot of unsavory types, but I guess the people seem more genuine?"

"I think I was looking for something at the time." He was, but we wasn't going to give those details here. "then somewhere along the line it just started to feel right." He mused. "what abotu you? Is music the only reason you're here?"

[Moyr Ahaya]

"The Outer Rim is certainly colourful, and full of opportunities. Isn't it a little early for you to be on retirement though? I mean I understand the life you have now is good, but... oh well." She tapped her chin, looking at him curiously, but then shrugged and glanced toward the exit. "I am still trying different things. Since I was lucky to escape a slave's fate Before, I worked for an independent shipping contractor, got some experience in business. I love music and it's an important part of my life but will I be doing it fully professionally for a long time? I don't know. It is what it is right now."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"That's how things happen occasionally, but it's not like I still don't work. I just don't have a job. Don't know if I want one either." His lips curled into a smirk and he offered a shrug as well.

"No harm in that, finding out what it is you really want to do. sometimes it takes a few years of trying different things, sometimes longer." As the conversation turned to music his lips curled in a warm smile. "I'm at least hoping you continue for many years to come. You do good work Darwi, and I enjoy your songs. Still we all have to do what we must. Can't find everything you want by staying in one place."

[Moyr Ahaya]

"I have no doubt I'll be travelling around. The Smuggler's Moon has its...." She coughed. "...charm, but does not look like my favourite place in the galaxy. "I don't think I'll ever quit doing music this way or another. It just might not be the main focus. Sometimes you suddenly meet circumstances which reshape your priorities for good. I know it can happen to me." Her smile was more reserved, but because of caution rather than any lack of underlying warmth.

[Zanebry Varliss]

"I think that can happen to anyone Darwi, or at least that's how I've seen it happen. You see it all the time at the card tables. Some poor man losing his fortune, perhaps that's not as severe as you were speaking of. I think it's a good example though."

"If you could leave here, go anywhere in the galaxy, where do you think it would be? If it was no strings attached nothing to bind you?"

[Moyr Ahaya]

"I... don't know." She gave it a deeper thought. "I don't think I have a destination, Zane. More like a shifting path. I wouldn't be going back to Ryloth for sure. There's nothing for me there." She sighed. She wouldn't be giving the right answer to the wrong question. For her, the Moyr in her, it seldom was about where.

[Zanebry Varliss]

"A shifting path." He frowned slightly. "No offense intended but that kind of thing makes me think you're lost. That or you have things wanting to pull you in different directions."

He shook his head. "Not that it really matters, most of find our way eventually."

[Moyr Ahaya]

"Maybe I am lost. Maybe I am pulled in different directions. But is this really bad? It just means that my life's purpose is still a vivid thing to discover, not something burrowed under a pile of habits and negligences." She perked her brow.

[Zanebry Varliss]

"I'd say it depends on whats pulling you in different directions, your interests or something else. You do make a very valid point though. It's too easy to get buried under old habits, and that quickly leads to negligence." He turned towards her and quirked a smile. "I suppose in that case I owe you a thanks though. You've pulled me away from some of my habits."

[Moyr Ahaya]

"Have I?" A smile crept in onto her lips as well. "And what would those be?"

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Oh, musical style and date locations." He offered as he looked her way, a wry smile on his lips. "I've never taken a lady to a huttball game before."

"As for music, I've been playing various off shoots of Jizz over the last few years. I'd forgotten how pleasant it was to try out new styles."

[Moyr Ahaya]

"I see. Well, being that kind of inspiration brings me more satisfaction than complimenting my looks, Zane. Because if we are about to have prospects for seeing each other more often, I need to know if I have the capacity to change your habits." They reached the gate. "Isn't it a good thought to have in mind for a goodbye?"

[Zanebry Varliss]

"it seems that you just might." He replied with a wry smile. "Time and more meetings will tell us much more about that though. If that's something you're interested in." He offered her a smile. "I believe it is, it was a pleasure getting to meet you Darwi."
