[D5 LM] We've Got to Stop Meeting Like This

[Nekoinu]

"Hey, wait a minute? Who are you guys again?"

[Niall Organa]

"Yes." Niall said, studying the data. He looked up. "Yes, this is everything I need. When the time comes, did you want to come along for this?"

He looked over at the Trandoshan. "I guess we don't need anything else from him, do we?" He shook his head.

[Yslane Tssilla]

"What do you have in mind?" She looked at the trandoshan, "The authorities?"

[Niall Organa]

"I don't think what he's doing is illegal, here." Niall grimaced. "I just wish..." He shook his head. "Really, I'm half tempted to send an intelligence agent to see if there's anything else we can get out of him when he's like this."

He gestured towards the Trandoshan. "Unless you'd like to give it a try?"

[Nekoinu]

"Are you two my parents? Wait, no, you aren't Trandoshans..."

[Yslane Tssilla]

"Meddling with the minds of others is not something I am good at," Yslane sighs, "Well shall we continue this discussion elsewhere?"

[Niall Organa]

"I suppose so." Niall tucked away the tool and the datapad. "Back to our meeting spot, then?"

[Yslane Tssilla]

Yslane nods and takes a look at the Trandoshan, "Go back to sleep. You are clearly dreaming that random heroes like the Galaxy Commando and his modestly dressed Jedi lackey are asking you questions about baby rancors."

[Nekoinu]

"Oh, Galaxy Commando! That guy is awesome." He nodded and closed his eyes. "I wish I could be his lackey."

[Yslane Tssilla]

"Apparently being on the right cocktail of drugs is just as good as Jedi Mind Tricks," Yslane observes dryly, "I'll make a note of it....let's go Captain."

[Niall Organa]

Niall's lips twisted upwards, amused. "Very well. I assure you though, I see you as a Jedi equal, at the very least." He walked to the door, opening it, and threw one last glance towards the Trandoshan. "Galaxy Commando out." He said as he left.

...

Before long, they're back at the dingy bar. "Cup of caf?" Niall offers Yslane. "I guess we need to decide on the next move. Knowing a bit more about whoever's in that freighter would be good. I suppose we can check the registry. Maybe something else?" He raised his eyebrows, looking inquisitively at the experienced covert agent.

[Yslane Tssilla]

Experienced covert agent being relative, more experienced then the Captain probably...."Well we should forward information to SIS and see if we can't get some information and surveillance on the ship. Hopefully it is not scheduled to leave anytime soon. We should check on that...."

[Niall Organa]

"Yes, good thinking." Niall agreed. He pulled out his own datapad, typing rapidly for a few moments. "I've forwarded the information along. It'll get to the right people. Hopefully we'll get an answer quickly."

He nodded to Yslane, giving her a slight smile. "Well. That makes two I owe you, in a sense. Is there anything that a Captain in the Republic military can do for you?"

[Yslane Tssilla]

"Review the chit I gave you....any ideas or aid in that matter will be more then enough," Yslane smiled, "And even without I'd aide in this work without reward. I am a Jedi after all."

[Niall Organa]

Niall smiled. "Of course. I have great respect for the Jedi. And that goes the other way, too. On a personal level, I feel as though I owe you a favor, but on a professional level, you could call on me regardless."

He chewed his lip for a moment. "Actually, speaking of personal favors... would you tell me a little about life in the Jedi?"

[Yslane Tssilla]

"What do you want to know?" Yslane tilted her head, intrigued. "I am still only a Padawan myself though."

[Niall Organa]

"Well then, perhaps you could tell me a little about that?" Niall said. "What it was like?"

He hesitated a moment, then went on. "I have a very dear friend who became a Jedi. Alysele Cortess. We exchanged messages sometimes, but not long ones. I've often wondered what it was like."

A beep came from Niall's datapad. He glanced down at it, then grimaced. "Mmm. SIS has this on their list of things to do. That means it could take a while." He gave her a smile. "Want to take a run at it tomorrow, perhaps? Once we've taken care of the other thing, of course."

[Yslane Tssilla]

"I suppose I could," Yslane nodded, "And Alys....err Knight Cortess, is probably not the best example of a typical Jedi."

"Well, there is a lot of studying and meditating." She leans back, "Debating philosophy and the nature of the Force. Training our minds and bodies. Learning to wield lightsabers. It isn't quite as glamorous as some may imagine."

[Niall Organa]

"Really?" Niall said, frowning. "In what way is Knight Cortess not the best example of a typical Jedi? I mean, she's told me a little about the sorts of missions she does. They did sound a bit unusual."

[Yslane Tssilla]

"Don't take it as an insult to her," Yslane laughs, "She's....more outgoing and gregarious then most of the Order. And that's not a bad thing."

[Niall Organa]

"Oh." Niall laughed a little sheepishly. "Right. Okay, then. I am pleased to hear that, then." Indeed, he looked rather pleased.

He cleared his throat. "But I fear I've sidetracked you. I suppose training doesn't tend to be glamorous. Usually that's supposed to come after. If at all."

[Yslane Tssilla]

"In truth the Jedi are not encouraged to seek glory," Yslane shrugs, "Mostly we wish to help were we can and grow in our understanding of and connection to the Force. Its not quite the material holovids are made of....so the greater public tends to see our more dramatic efforts, and these last few years have provided many."

[Niall Organa]

"Yes. Like Vera Hawke." Niall shook his head, chuckling. "I hope you accept my assurance that she hasn't changed the image of Jedi for those of us who actually work with you."

"Have you had a place in some of these dramatic efforts, then?"

[Yslane Tssilla]

"Not until coming here. This is....my first time doing this outside of training." Yslane grins meekly, "But nothing like finding out how good a swimmer you are by tossing someone in the deep end right?"

[Niall Organa]

Niall chuckled at that. "I've actually had nearly that experience. In fact, Aly was there. I very much don't recommend it."

He gave her a nod and a smile. "Well, so far as I can tell, you're doing great. You've already proven invaluable to me on more than one issue." His lips twisted. "If you were in another unit, I'd commend you to your superior. I'm not sure how that works with the Jedi."
