Too hot, hot damn (Day 5 Early Night)

[Zanebry Varliss]

The lower city had been a uncomfortable place for Zane this evening. Apparently blowing people up on live holovid earned you more then a little notoriety, more notoriety then he was even comfortable with. So after a few minutes of bar hoping he had abandoned the prospect, deciding instead to make his way to the uppercity.

The drinks were far more expensive, but currently he could afford him, and he seemed to gather much less attention in the quiet hotel bar. Relaxing in his chair he sipped on his whiskey as he thought over the course of the day.

"Didn't somebody owe me a night out?"

Devi stood a few feet from him, hands on her hip and smirk on her face. "Did ya think I would forget, Zanebry?" She gave him a small pout.

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Hey lovely." He offered Devi a smile and rose from his seat. "A might out, I certainly owe you one. Another now since I made you wait."

"Perhaps I can buy you a few drinks tonight? To show my sincerity."

[Nekoinu]

Devi nodded. "A few drinks may placate me, darlin'." She took a seat next to his and let out a small chuckle. "Saw ya on the news this mornin'. Guess that's not a surprise to ya. But I do have to ask ya: Where did she go?"

[Zanebry Varliss]

"What will you be having them? Gin Martini perhaps?" He looked over and flashed her a grin. "Missed me so much you felt the need to look for me on the news then" He asked rather playfully.

"Into hiding, at least the last I saw her. After that? Your guess is as good as mine." He took a sip of his drink. "Have a interest in dear Evangeline?"

[Nekoinu]

"I flipped through all the channels until I found ya. Granted, every broadcast being hacked helps too," she said with a wink.

"Considerin' how she handles a lot of business for me, I'd say yeah." Devi let out a sigh. "But if she's in hiding, then she can't really help me, huh?"

[Zanebry Varliss]

He grinned. "Well it's my hope that I st least looked a dashing enough to keep your interest."

"Not really no, and I figure those Crescent Shadow folks will be after her again as soon as she emerges. So it may be time to look into other avenues of distribution."

[Nekoinu]

"Oh trust me, I was glued to the action the entire time."

Devi nodded. "Yeah, I guess that's a rut, ain't it?" She tapped her fingers on her legs, quite agitated.

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Thats sadly so." He offered with a sigh as he leaned over and nudged her gently with his shoulder. "Look on the bright side. This might be a great time for that vacation."

[Nekoinu]

"Ya might be right. I'd hate to end up like her." Devi smiled at him. "Were ya goin' to accompany me?"

[Zanebry Varliss]

"I'd like to, but we may have to see what's in the cards." He sighed and took a sip of his drink, waving over the barman so the lady could order as she pleased. "Im about ear deep in a few business deals at the moment. May be hard to get away."

"Just a few days ago, I was gettin' lectured on workin' too hard! Ya need to be consistent, Zanebry," she said with a wry smile.

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Aye, I know, but as I told ya I needed some extra credits." He frowned. "Haven't been able to get many bounties, seems a lot of the visitors are interested in them, and now that the betting on Huttball is suspended."

He smirked. "I taught dance classes today, one of the few things I could think of to make some dough."

[Nekoinu]

"Ya could always pick up smuggling. But somethin' tells me you'd miss all the fun going on in the System." Devi smirked and batted her lashes. "And ya didn't ask if I wanted to learn from ya?"

[Zanebry Varliss]

"I've considered it a time or two, but as you said. I'd miss everything intresting." He offered Devi a charming smile. "I'm always available to give you a lesson my dear. Perhaps you would like to replace one of our dinners with a night out on the dance floor?"

[Nekoinu]

"Aw darlin', that sounds lovely. I'll take it!" She took a sip from her drink and smiled at him. "Will ya sweep me off my feet like ya did with Evangeline?"

[Zanebry Varliss]

He returned the smiled. "I'll do more then merely sweep you off your feet my dear. My Jade rose deserves much finer treatment then some woman I rescued off the streets."

[Nekoinu]

"'Some woman?' Oh poor Evangeline. How the mighty have fallen."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Perhaps if I thought I'd see her again she could be something more. Unfortunately for her though, I don't think I will." He offered offered Devi a charming smile. "Enough about her though, what could I do to make your evening more pleasant?"

[Nekoinu]

"Set me up with a new contractor," Devi said with a smile, "Ah, well, I can figure somethin' out. I always do, right?"

[Zanebry Varliss]

"I can look into things, but I don't know what I'll be able to find." His contacts weren't what they used to be. "I'm sure you'll do fine though, you're too shrewd a business woman to stay down and out for long, if at all."

[Nekoinu]

"I might try my hand at taking over some of dear Evangeline's operation." She smirked. "I might get of my lab more like ya hoped."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"It couldn't hurt, it is a good opportunity to move up in the world. Though you may wait at least a little bit. Something tells me those Crescent Shadow folks are finished."

He grinned. "If things do work out for you though. I may have yo get a new job myself. Can't go taking an important lady out to just any old resturant."

[Nekoinu]

"You'd need to save up instead of spending all your money on different dates," she said with a smirk. Devi then nodded. "They did declare that there would be a series of attacks."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Are you saying I should just settle down with one woman then?" He asked raising his eyebrow in curiosity.

"That they did, and from the looks of it they are moving up the ladder. Might be a good time to be on a lower rung."
