Blood, Blood, Gallons of the Stuff... (D6, LA)

[Javagus Khan]

Having heard a rumor or two about the Republic doctors, Javagus visited the Republic Compound and asked to be put into contact with a doctor. It took him a few moments to convince the over-enthusiastic medical droid that it was only a business meeting and that he wasn't sick, but once that was sorted out, he found an out-of-the-way place to wait until someone was available.

[Cole Ormont]

Cole appears, looking about uncertainly, running a hand through his blonde curls, having been summoned by a rather discontent medical droid for 'business reasons'.

[Javagus Khan]

"'ello there." Javagus approaches the person with the medical droid. "Hopin' your the doctor I was askin' about?"

[Cole Ormont]

Cole recognised the man from the club in the Red Light District and stepped forward, "Petty Officer Cole Ormont, Navy Surgeon. What can I help you with?"

[Javagus Khan]

"Pleased to meet ya." He held his hand out to the doctor. "Lookin' to get some blood samples scanned and analyzed and all that other stuff. Need to send somethin' back to work and it's faster to get the lab work done here than to send blood halfway across the Rim."

[Cole Ormont]

Cole shakes the man's hand firmly, "right, what are we looking for, and how many samples are we talking about?"

[Javagus Khan]

"Just a few vials, nothin' much. Full genome work up." He makes a vague gesture toward the window. "Sith blood, which you'd find out soon enough, I reckon."

[Cole Ormont]

"This is a Republic facility, so I need to put something on the reports, and I'll need to keep a record of any analysis I make. There'll be a trail, does that work for you?"

[Javagus Khan]

He takes a moment to scratch his chin and consider the situation. "Any way I could talk ya into doin' it off the clock?"

[Cole Ormont]

Cole cocks an eyebrow, glancing sidelong at the medical droid which was still lingering nearby. He gives the man a significant look, "that really isn't an option," and he motions for Javagus to follow him into one of the nearby offices, a stark white room with a desk and little else.

[Javagus Khan]

"Of course, understand completely." Walking casually, he follows Cole into the office, only to look around at the starkness in mild surprise.

"Not even one of those posters about how soldiers on shore leave have to watch out for dirty Twi'leks? Thought those were mandatory in military hospitals..."

[Cole Ormont]

"Only in the consulting rooms," he chuckles. "The offices are are for civvies, I guess they assume you already know the dangers?" Cole folds his arms casually, "so, about these samples? I can make something up for the logs, if you can make it worth my while."

[Javagus Khan]

Javagus rubs the back of his neck. "That depends how much your time is worth. Plenty of doctors on Nar Shaddaa, and most of 'em don't have this sort of red tape."

[Cole Ormont]

"And most of them ask questions like where'd the samples come from and what you're planning on doing with them. But, hey, you're here now. If you can see your way to slip me a few credits, I can make sure you haven't wasted your time."

[Javagus Khan]

He released a practiced sigh. "You're killin' me here, Doc. How about fifty credits? Should be enough to buy a few drinks for you and your mates."

[Cole Ormont]

Cole was relieved, but he didn't let on; though the younger man's inexperience was probably obvious in his easy agreement, nodding, "that sounds just fine." He holds his hand out for the samples, "should I have the droid bring you some caff or something while you're waiting?"

[Javagus Khan]

A handful of vials exchange hands.

"Suppose you don't have any real drinks stashed away?" He motions toward the samples. "How long is that gonna take?"

[Cole Ormont]

"Shouldn't be long, and I'm pretty sure I saw a bourbon bottle in a drawer around here somewhere." Cole leaves and, sure enough, a droid brings a glass of acceptable booze, nothing top shelf, but not cheap.

In the lab, Cole runs the sequencing, downloading the information onto two data chips and deleting the records. There'll be a gap in the files, but he manages to make it look like a technical glitch. He tucks one of the chips into a pocket and brings the other chip and the vials back.

Javagus raises the bottle as Cole returns. "Done already? Leave it to the Republic to get stuff done nice and quick."

[Cole Ormont]

Cole lines the vials up on the desk like a small defensive arrangement, and places the data chip behind them, "happy to be a service."

[Javagus Khan]

Javagus pulls out a 50-credit chip and tosses it onto the desk. "Pleasure doin' business with ya. If you're ever in need of any chemicals, look me up, eh?"

[Cole Ormont]

Cole raises an eyebrow, "I will." The exchange done, he offers a handshake and shows the man out.

[Javagus Khan]

Javagus happily leaves with his data in hand.
