"Senator, I take it you are not accustomed to these situations. You always negotiate with terrorists. You buy time by doing it, you buy the chance they might make a mistake, you allow for the opportunity they may surrender to avoid an outcome they wish to avoid. You don't bargain with them, you don't accede to them, but you always talk with them and you don't flagrantly provoke them. Nor do rules of engagement allow for such flagrant endangerment of a hostage. Not in my fire teams, not with my soldiers, not ever. Were you one of mine, you would be facing a court martial. As it is, I'm surprised you wouldn't have your diplomatic credentials revoked or be charged as an accessory to murder or with negligent homicide for your actions. You were not authorized to take such actions. You are not a part of the chain of command. You have neither the authority nor the moral responsibility to make the choices you did. There is a civilian on the deck who was mutilated and killed by your actions, and you choose to make this an issue about the pride of the Republic rather than the life of an innocent?" Hala scoffed before simply allowing the disbelieving stare from her older, battered face to take over.
As Adrianaa moved to reclaim her device, Hala followed her and placed a hand on it as well.
"I don't think you can take that back. It's evidence, now. It was used to cause a detonation which likely resulted in the deaths of innocents, and I'm sure the Hutts will agree. Don't you too, Senator Seir'oto?"
She added the last bit stepping back while turning to face the Mon Cal.
