At the last comment, Arali quietly closes the casing back up and takes her blade in hand, and walks over to a clear section of the room.

"I am not the killing type," she says as she raises the blade one-handed off to the side and ignites its considerable length, a brilliant blue. "With this?" She hits a button, and the secondary emitter comes online. The green of the second crystal melds with the blue of the first, into an aquamarine line, much finer than the original blade, but surrounded by a thick, rippling distortion whose edge is hard to mark. Upon the switch, a single light puff of wind flows through the room, momentarily ruffling leaves and clothes. "I don't have to."

"The dual-crystal array allows me an alternative; in this mode, instead of slicing and burning, my saber converts kinetic energy into a radiant energy field that instead batters my opponents inside and out without inflicting mortal damage, and without sacrificing striking power."

She douses the blade. "At least, that's the theory, once I optimize the power output."

''I have something similar yet different...'' she drew her Ionsaber, the seeming love child of a lightsaber and a electirc coil, and ignited it. The hilt crackles with electrical energy and them the red blade ignites with a very different kind of hum more of an undulating bass and the blade has particle effects that fit into and out of existence around it. .

"Interesting..." Arali studies the design. "I'd toyed with a few ideas for an enhanced training emitter for field work, but this? This is something interesting... the power output must be significant; how do you manage cooling?"
