Hala brought the body to Jal's headquarters. She left the corpse with the guards at the door and then went inside to treat with the man directly.

"Well, well, if it isn't the Angel of Dromund Kaas." Jal slowly pulled out a bag of credits and tossed it over to the woman. "Your payment. But I can imagine that you'd like more than a bit of credits. A woman such as yourself must understand the value of information."

[Col. Hala Moraal]

Hala chuckled and smiled back in kind.

"I'm not sure if I hope that slips off. I've never done something like that before," she said, shaking her head slightly while she leaned forward and took the bag. She slipped it into her jacket pocket and leaned back against her chair back.

"Information is always useful, Mr. Nav'loso," she said with a polite shrug, "and is valuable in the right places and times. Was there something of timely interest?"

[Nekoinu]

"Something like that doesn't ever disappear, ma'am. It'll come back again some day, I'm sure."

He smirked. "I know a lot. It's my job. And while I can think of several things to tell you about, that's not how the business works. I simply want to know your priorities.

[Col. Hala Moraal]

"I don't have a dire need for a specific piece of information, but anything related to the Republic or something I can capitalize on to effect in the remaining few days of the peace talks would be appreciated," she said after a pause to think. She sighed and glanced down at the table between them before her eyes sparked slightly and she looked back up.

"Colonel's pay doesn't get as far as it used to. If you're eager to resolve this right now and you don't have something immediately for me, I'd be happy to just be a silent partner in the business. We could help each other."

[Nekoinu]

"I suppose this could be useful for you then." He took out a datachip and placed it on the table. "This is footage of Republic personnel firing upon Hutt Security Forces."

[Col. Hala Moraal]

"Is there a story behind this?" she asked as she pulled the data chip towards her. She produced her pad and slotted the chip in, muting the sound but studying the visuals with interest.

[Nekoinu]

"Hutt Security personnel, along with Mandalorian mercenaries, were cracking down on suspected Crescent Shadow operatives. That's the official story, at least. Republic personnel thought this as a violation of their rights and opened fire."

[Col. Hala Moraal]

"Good to know...." she said a little absently as she rewound the footage and started it again.

"I may know of a few individuals who might wish to see this. Thank you," she said with a nod.

"I'm sure you can leverage that against them," he remarked with a sly smile.

"I think Herresh would love to see this," she replied, echoing his grin.

"That sort of thing would do wonders for the perfect image of the Republic he's trying to color."
