Zeno is struck by the object and takes a heavy blow, but he manages to slice off part of it before it strikes him reducing the amount of inertia it is carrying.

Rumun tried to stop Baras attack, will against will. But a Darth is far more powerful than an apprentice but at least he stopped a bit the momentum of the objects that were thrown. He used his lightsaber to minimize the damage, but it was still considerable...

The Imperial troopers raise their weapons the first squad fires a devastating salvo versus Sylvain and sustaining the fire with precision! The other group fires on Asra and deals grievous damage to the sniper!

OOC: Going to assume raise Defense means Defensive Stance as he did not take cover Defense is 1. Sylvain takes 13 wounds and will suffer a setback to his next check. Asra takes 12 wounds before soak.

Asra winced as the bolts hit her, but she didn't have time to worry about the injury right now. She'd take care of it in a few moments. If she was alive them.

She took a deep breath and quieted her mind, aiming carefully and pulling the trigger.

It missed by a hair, flying past Baras, serving as nothing more than a distraction. She took another breath. There would be another shot. Stay calm. Getting angry and panicking won't help. Stay calm and aim again.

Layne rushed in, and moments later the darksaber's screamed as it made contact with her opponent's lightsaber. Again and again the two clashed in a duel between master and apprentice, and just like last time she managed to find a way past his defenses and inflict serious injury on him. Possibly enough to have them win the fight. Unfortunately, something about the attempt backfired on her as well.

Still, she glared at him.

"Now *I* am the master," she said with undeserved confidence.

Darth Baras parries the keen slice and kicks her back and says, "I was going to make you my champion... name you a lord. I had high hopes for you... but you turned out to be a such a disappointment." He spins and bats away her weapon and then stabs his lightsaber right through her gut and then kicks her off...

"You have much to learn."

OOC: Parry utilized reduce damage by 6 to 4, his armor soaks the rest. Despair effect is that Layne's next action the difficulty is Upgraded by 1. Improved Parry utilized since she rolled a Despair. He does not suffer a critical. Suffers 3 more strain now at 8, no wounds taken yet.

Attack hits for 16 wounds Breach 1, 1 advantage for Critical Injury, 3 advantage to regain 3 strain. Now at 5 strain.

Rumun saw how Layne fell. He don't have a chance against Baras...but perhaps he could kill the slicer!

Rum, runs and runs and runs towards the slicer. Probably this will be the end of the Duro. He strikes the imperial fixer with all his might. Several hits until he connects. A vicious attack with his already vicious lightsaber.

No one is really sure how the Duros covered that distance, maybe he just had the glow... or the Force... or even the touch... but he did it and the slicer is stunned by how awesome and also terrifying it was.

OOC: Technically you can't do more than two maneuvers but for a Triumph we can say he somehow Legolas'd himself over. Oh the free move before combat, carry on you are good.

The slicer takes 9 wounds!

[Zeno Deathwright]

Zeno watches as Layne falls and glowers at Baras. He rushes in at the Darth with a violent look in his eyes. The look of a killer. He knew the sith lord was better than him. He knew he was likely to die here. But as much as he disliked Layne, he didn't hate her and she had been one of his classmates. He swings violently at the Darth before him with his guard shoto at an odd angle hoping to catch him off-guard.

Baras parries the assault maneuvering the strieks away from hi vitals and then sees an Opening and strikes back cutting right through Zeno's lightsaber and through Zeno himself with a perfect retaliatory strike. This strike opens up Zeno for another terrifying blow as he cuts the Sith blood down with a second strike even more brutal than the first.

He finishes the strike with a wave of his hand sending Zeno flying back.

Meanwhile the Slicer runs from Rumun and dives behind cover.

OOC: Darth Baras uses Parry for another 3 strain up to 8, reduced damage to 6 wounds and suffers 2 wounds after soak. 3 Threat used for Improved Parry. Baras strikes for 14 wounds with a Critical Injury and using the Triumphs to destroy Zeno's lightsaber. Next Triumph used to knock Zeno Prone and put him at Medium range, he suffers 16 wounds from the second attack. He suffers a strain and is at 9 Srain.

Slicer is long range to everyone else but at short range to Rumun and behind cover.

Baras steps over the broken form of Layne and approaches Sylvain saber still lit, "Submit and serve the Empire or die like Layne and whoever that was..."

OOC: Brief moment for Sylvain before I continue Baras's turn.

Sylvain looked at his mother on the ground and then up to Baras. Down to Layne and then back again. "I have always served the Empire, even if you have undermined it. This ploy by the Magpie has been a waste. I am in no position to make demands, and your mercy is too generous already... Let the others go... their deaths are merely a waste to the Empire... and you will have my full devotion; my life if you require it."

"Your mother would have destroyed everything... you... Rumun, stand down and I will overlook your idiocy. I can show leniency for the greater good of the Empire," Darth Baras commands.

OOC: Baras uses a Menuver to enter Engaged with Sylvain. Next PC turn.

Sylvain looked on to his master as he approached, angered at his own weakness and foolishness.

'' Who are you to command me fool! The Force shall free me! '' Rumun said as he destroy the console that commands the barge. He does such a great job that the thing probably is beyond repair and in a direct course to destroy the republic compound.

He will not stand there and submit to someone who is not his master. Screw him.

Then he runs from his life and hopefully his attack will give his companions an opening to escape as well

Baras narrows his eyes as Rumun destroys the only means of controlling the ship. The duros then runs like hell as the damage causes several explosions throughout the command deck of the bridge. Smoke fills the chamber quickly as Imperial troopers take aim at Rumun!

As they fire on Rumun an explosion takes out two soldiers! Meanwhile the slicer runs for an escape... there was no slicing that panel! Rumun the crazy duros escapes.

OOC: Rumun can get away since he used both maneuvers to escape.

OOC: The only other way to bring down the barge now is to destroy the engines and make it crash early... takes an Athletics or Coordination check at Average as an action to get the engine room and then do 15 damage to the engines to overload them, they have Soak 3. Skill checks take an action and if failed you don;t make it to the engine room, each round beyond the first adds a setback die to the skill check.

Attacking the engines is a simple combat check.

"Asra, we need to down this ship." Sylvain said quickly and turned to Baras... "I'll climb down and try to take out the engines... get off if I fail. We must save the talks."

With that Sylvain jumped over the railing and tried to get to a position where he could have a straight shot at the engines. He made a leap but missed the landing... but perhaps something fortuitous came from it?
